Im from lousiana, got stationed in Oki. Went there and just had to say he was extremely nice and generous. On the night we went it was actually close for a private party. But he still made accommodations for us and let us sample a bunch of the dishes they had at the party for free. Big big thumbs up.

Great interview, I like the story and the message. I'm glad to see a fellow 'Yaadie' doing such great work, keep it up bredda. Also, as I like what Al Shipp is doing, I'd like you to share this with him; the peace symbol should have the three arms/branches facing upward like a flourishing and prospering tree, as shown in nature. The 'popular peace symbol' actually represent war & death, which contributed to the peace movements of the past being anything but peaceful. So I would advise him to avoid printing the death rune (popular peace symbol) on his shirts, as it is likely to attract un-peace to him an his business.

I experienced something similar in Malaysia when I lived there. When the police back in the U.S. were killing Blacks quite often, I was feeling kind of depressed too. The Chinese-Malaysians asked me why are you so down? I responded to them that even one killing affected me because it could have been me or someone I knew. They would attempt to console me by saying, you don't live there anymore. You are living in Malaysia now. America is not your home anymore. This is your home and we are your family and we will take care of you like you are one of us! They did their best to make me feel better about the situation back in the U.S. I still appreciate them for that and they are still my Malaysian family even though I'm in Spain now. They still take care of me like I was one of them even away from Malaysia. Those of you who have not lived in a foreign country are full of misconceptions about living abroad. As the brother said, people are just people no matter who you are. Once, as a foreigner, you are in another country for awhile, they grow to care for and love you. But, it depends on how much love you send out. Love is a two-way street!
