      😂 Lol Yeah not quite Brother, it looks like it would have some great potential, But ultimately, it's low hanging belly pan, is it's undoing in the deep stuff, it does alright in the snow, But my Newly created TraxxTerra K10 Ascender Vxl, and Kyosho Midnight Blizzard, do much better.
      😁👍
      As for the Wltoys; Ironically enough, it's actually sitting in front of me right now,😕 Which is actually kinda rare, My RC workshop is still under construction, but currently on hold for the winter season, The bulk of my RC's are sitting in our new pole barn, And I was keeping my winter rigs in the RC workshop for easy filming access, And I literally just brought the Wltoys 10428a out here last night for part of a walk & talk video,😂 lol Crazy how that stuff happens! 😁
      Check out some of my latest Ascender videos "if you haven't already" I installed Trx4 portal axles and tracks, along with my Vxl 3s system, into my Vaterra K10 Ascender, And it's pretty darn Sweet.😂👍
      And then I did the same thing to my brothers K5 Blazer Ascender, First was Traxx, Axles, and a Team Brood Apocalypse 30t brushed motor, And then another Vxl 3s combo was installed, "but not seen on camera yet" The K5 track edition has been seen, just not with the Vxl as of yet.😂
      Both are awesome in the snow, much lighter than a Standard Trx4, So they do great in the deep snow.😁
      Note on the light weight;
      I've seen your Trx4 Sport Brother, And yes... Yours is pretty darn light.😁👍
      Me likey the floating Trx4 Sport! 😂🤜🤛
      Same with the snow videos bro.😁👍
      Thanks for your great comment and for checking out the video my friend.

    What a crazy little machine do you still have this beast. That's an awesome toy. You need a large puddle in a parking lot or pit would be better so you can skip across. Great video bud.

      Yes sir I sure do 😂👍
      Except it's even faster than it was previously,😁 I recently went from a 76t spur gear, down to a 70t,
      And I went from a 39t pinion gear, up to a 41 or 42t pinion gear,😂 lol and I'm going to step it up to a 44t pinion gear, because it's still a back flip machine.😕
      It was hydroplaning water at half throttle, and I couldn't get it going any faster without back flipping, So I decided to re'gear it last fall, now I can get it up to 3/4 throttle before it back flip's, and I would ultimately like to get it wide open just to see how quick it actually is,😄👍 this summer it will be going to a parking lot with a GPS.😂
      Thanks for your Awesome Compliments, and for checking out my Amphibious wltoys 10428a,

      It was a total Blast,at least until I smoked the esc,😢
      I have a few videos of it in the snow if you feel like searching through my library,
      I cooked the esc by overloading it,I was running Proline 2.2 Super Swampers,
      on Aluminum Wheels,with 17.9 ounces of weight in each front tire,I was attempting to climb up some snow covered stairs,and the combination of the weighted wheels,along with repeatedly attempting the stairs,quickly proved to be too much for the esc 😕
      pretty sure that video is in the library as well 😀

    Needs to be going at speed to the water line to get it aquaplaning, it will come to you in time, good luck with it mate 🤠

      @R.C.A.D.  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol The approach to the water at that location wasn't exactly the smoothest either,😂 lol
      It's like a downward 35° degree angle, that's leaning 15° degrees to the right before it makes contact with the water,😕 I did eventually get it to Aquaplane at this location, But I literally had to jump the truck into the water from the boat ramp, in order to do it,😂 lol But it did it, Aquaplaned for about 65-70ft before I accidentally gave it to much throttle, and flipped it backwards out in the middle of the lake,😄 ha ha ha lol, Thankfully the truck was fully Amphibious, and I was able to get it back to shore.😊👍
      Fyi; That was well over 3 years ago, and 250+ miles away from my current location.
      Thanks for your Awesome and informative comment Benson,😊👍 And many more thanks for checking out the video my friend.

      It doesn't matter what angle of approach the wheels need to be spinning fast to achieve aquaplaning, you can drop it in from above as wheels are round, they just need to be spinning very fast

    You have to hit the water with speed so you have to get a good run up before you can actually hydroplane

    • @R.C.A.D.
      @R.C.A.D.  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Roman Bernal,Sound advice! bit did you happen to notice the angle of the boat launch compared to the water,
      It's kinda extreme !
      It's definitely not a good location for hydroplaning lol
      but it was my only location for testing 😕
      The second problem is that I can't get the truck past 3/4 throttle without it flipping over lol,so hydroplaning isn't exactly easy 😁 I have to keep the throttle in the sweet spot,
      The last time that I had it hydroplaning,I flipped it backwards about 60 feet out in the lake,and then I flipped it upright with a stab of the throttle,before paddling it back to shore,
      Thanks for the Great comment,and advice my friend,and Thanks for watching Brother 😎👍👊👊

    • @R.C.A.D.
      @R.C.A.D.  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it's a pretty steep entry,
      But it's also a testament of the truck's power,it actually has way too much power,lol
      I can't remember if I had it hydroplaning in this video,but I did eventually get it up on the water,it might be in a different video,I didn't want to cheat by using a piece of plywood for a entrance ramp,
      But using one would have definitely made it easier lol,
      Another problem that I was having is that I can't get the truck wide open without flipping it backwards,It needs some more gearing adjustment's,so far I can only get to about 3/4 throttle before it whips over backwards,which also makes it difficult too hydroplane,you gotta hold it in the sweet spot,
      It was the same in the actual hydroplane video,3/4 throttle sweet spot,I actually flipped it backwards about 60 feet out into the water,and then flipped it back upright before paddling it back too shore,
      It was touch and go on the way back,battery died as I was hitting the shore,it took about 10 minutes for me to get it back,I was as nervous as a dog crapping razor blades,
      Thanks for the Great comment,and for watching my friend,😀👍👍🍻🍻

    Dude water proof that esc. I ran a velineon in my boat and fucked one up bc I didn't know shit about much. But long story short. Buy some liquid electrical tape and open the esc and waterproof it all but that heatsinks. Waterproof your receiver too. That means them plugs will permanently be in there unless u wanna take it apart. But do a few coats of it. It dries pretty quick. But highly a must when putting them things in the water. I'm sure u know there's a specified different between waterproof and water resistant lol.

      RC After Dark dude take that esc and clean it the best u can to make it not look like it has water damage. Be careful opening it or call traxxas they might not even go as far as inspecting it. Same thing happened like I said. Traxxas sent me a new one and of course had to send the old one back same as my battery. Be careful what u tell them they will send u a new one. Avoid say it got submerged in water lol. It's suppose to be waterproof in general. If I'm not mistaken but traxxas will take care of their customers. I know that velineon isn't cheap. I bought mine when the first vxl came out. But that is a very bad ass system. One thing I did noticed it has a torque problem check out the vid I have about the velineon in my boat. Same thing torque rolls lol. But definitely get a hold of traxxas and see what u can do about getting it replaced.

      Buy it Break it Fix it,Thanks man,and you are correct it is in second gear,I'm ordering a 40 tooth pinion gear for it in a minute,it has a 31 tooth currently,according to the Vattera manual,a 40 tooth pinion,is the biggest that I can get for a 70 tooth spur gear,
      I would like to make the gearing a little taller,which would give it more top end,and hopefully not flip as easy,if I put it in low range or first gear, it might be able to do a complete back flip,and land back on it's wheels lol,
      Hopefully the pinion gears,and drive shafts,show up before this weekend,I want to hydroplane this thing lol

    • @R.C.A.D.
      @R.C.A.D.  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I sincerely appreciate your great question, So please don't hate me for giving you my answer,😕
      I personally don't Recommend doing too much, to the Wltoys 10428,
      Personally speaking anyways,😕 the Transmission Gear's, Spur Gear, Rear Drive Shaft, Front Differential, Front differential out drive cups, Front Cvd shafts, and the front Cvd's "on the wheel spindle side" Can't handle a Brushless motor of any kind!,😕
      Technically speaking, it can't even handle the 17t Brushed 540, that it comes equipped with,😕
      keep driving it, as it is currently, and before too long, it's going to start coming apart all on it's own, from natural ware & tare,😕
      "Drive pin's" are usually first thing to start breaking, after you Upgrade those to something of Hobby Grade, then the problems start moving down the line, to the next weakest link, and so on, and so on,😕
      You can Speed up the destruction process, by locking up the Front Differential,😕
      And the only "Real Fix" to cure all of the week links, is to do a Full "Heavy Duty" Vaterra Twin Hammer's conversion on it, with a M.I.P. Steel Rear Drive Shaft,🤔 😕 and unfortunately, Most of the "Heavy Duty" Vaterra Twin Hammer's part's, are becoming Extremely Rare to find,😕 you can get some of the needed parts, but it's almost impossible, to find everything that is needed to finish the job,🤔 And the Upgrade is going to run around $300.00-$350.00 U.S. dollars, just for the chassis parts,😕 After that, your gonna need all new hobby grade electronics, Servos, Receiver, Radio, ESC, and whatever size motor,🤔 so figure around another, $300.00-$450.00 for all of that, 😕 Depending on what you went with for Equipment,🙄 Gotta pay $ for Quality,😕👍
      I had around $1,300.00 U.S. dollars, wrapped up into this truck, at the time of this video,🙄 And that's the "Grand Total", including the initial price for the vehicle,
      As for wltoys produced "Mod parts" 🤔 they do make a limited selection of drive train upgrades,😕 But none of the aluminum chassis Upgrades are worth it, other than for being a shelf queen, and the metal Transmission gear's that they offer, aren't enough to make the vehicle, "Brushless Ready"😕 and they don't make enough stuff to do it,🙄😕 so your kinda S.O.L.!
      I just recently finished a Vaterra Twin Hammer's conversion, on a Wltoys 10428, back in June of this year,🤔 and I almost couldn't get it done, because of the last few parts that were needed, were almost impossible to find, and almost gone,🙄 I assume, that they are probably, all sold out by now,😕
      My advice is to leave it alone, and drive it as it is,🤔
      And maybe save up some money,💰 for a Hobby Grade Vehicle to work with,
      It would be cheaper by far, all the way around,🙂👍
      Thanks for your great question, and thank you for checking out the video my friend.🙂😎👍👍

    I need to buy one of these was it easy to replace the diffs with metal gears?

    • @R.C.A.D.
      @R.C.A.D.  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The front differential is super easy too replace,I think that I have a video up showing the process,the diff in the rear axle is a different story,WLtoys uses a larger bearing on the differential pinion,then Vattera does,
      So if you want to upgrade the rear axle diff,you need to replace the entire axle housing,along with the internals,the good news is that it's not very expensive,probably around $50.00 U.S. dollars or less,
      And I would recommend ordering all the Vattera parts from "Horizon Hobbies" they have everything Vattera related,on a side note though,
      the stock WLtoys rear axle is pretty tough,and with hold up for quite awhile,the front differential is the main weak point,
      The only real problem is that once you start upgrading parts,you will start noticing weak points further down the line,and before you know it you will have to go full metal from front too rear,
      Fyi the heavy duty metal Vattera transmission gears,shafts,and bearings,will all fit into the stock WLtoys gearbox,👍
      When or if you replace the the Front differential,
      Outdrive's,and half shafts,on the WLtoys with Vattera H.D. parts,you will also need to replace the front A-arm's with Vattera twin hammers A-arm's,in order for everything to Jive right,the Vattera half shafts,and A-arm's are a pinch shorter than the WLtoys equipment,you will lose a little bit of front suspension travel from the shorter Arm's,but it negligible compared to the gains that you get from having a Solid Trail worthy Reliable Drive train,
      Best of Luck my friend 😀
      And thanks for checking out the video 😎👍👍

    What's happening everyone,This was the first run,with the new setup,I'm definitely not used to the brushless motor,and wasn't able to get past half throttle,without flipping it over,I believe that the truck has enough power to hydroplane,but I might need to adjust the gear ratio,with a smaller spur,or bigger pinion gear,possibly a wheelie bar lol,
    I have a new rear drive shaft on order,so I will be able to continue testing in a few days,
    I will get this thing to hydroplane,hopefully lol

      JC R.C. haha yea you definitely made yourself a hydroplaning machine there buddy 👍 things an animal man! I'd say you need to gear it down if anything, the wheels are so big in comparison to the size of the RC then add velineon power........ it's gonna be tough keeping that front end down 😂👍👊

    • @R.C.A.D.
      @R.C.A.D.  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pain in the RC,Thanks brother,
      I was thinking about putting some weight in the front end, to compensate for the raw power,put the front already rides low in the water when floating,I was also thinking about a wheelie bar,or two wheelie skid fingers,but I don't want to compromise off-road ability,
      I was also thinking about running some bigger tires,for more surface area on the water,lol
      As for the gearing,some people are saying to gear it down,but if there meaning of down,is the same as my meaning,then that would be lowering the gearing,giving it even more low end snap,and I can't keep the front tires on the ground as it is,lol
      I could be wrong,and I often am, but I was thinking about gearing it up,as too take some off the bottom end,and give it some more top speed,in the effort of keeping the tires on the ground,without adding a wheelie bar,or excess weight to the front :)
      Decisions decisions lol
      I ordered some Intagey drive shafts,and some Trinity pinion gears,I currently have a 70 tooth spur gear,and a 31 tooth pinion,I ordered a 35T,a 39t,and a 41 tooth pinion,the drive shafts are here,but I'm waiting for the pinions,they should be here today or tomorrow:)
      Thanks for watching and commenting Brother,
      Stay tuned for more Shenanigans lol

      Why is it so fast? And how long does the battery last? Also the charging time...im sorry im just newbie on rcs..

    • @R.C.A.D.
      @R.C.A.D.  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Party Deepworld,
      Just as a opening statement;
      "this is not a stock WLtoys 10428a,it has been modified slightly"
      For the speed factor;it has a Traxxas VXL 3s Brushless Combo,"3500kv motor & esc",plus I put on a smaller spur gear & and a significantly larger pinion gear,for more top end speed,and less low end power,
      I still need to mess with the gearing,it flips over at 3/4 throttle,
      Fyi it also has "Vattera twin hammers" metal transmission gears,Heavy Duty differential gears,front half shafts,and front wheel spindles,along with "Mip" steel drive shafts,
      For the run time;it all depends on the battery cell count,mah output,and it's "c"rating,
      The Traxxas VXL 3s electronic speed controller,requires a lipo battery,which stands for "Lithium Polymer" the esc or "electronic speed control" can run on a 2s,or 3s battery,
      "which is the number of battery cells"
      2s is a two cell battery,
      3s is a three cell battery,
      and so on,
      A 2s battery is 7.4 volts,8.4 fully charged,
      A 3s battery is 11.1 volts,and around 12.6 volts fully charged,
      The mah rating is basically the amount of amp's the battery puts out," Higher "mah" equals more run time,or amperage output"
      The "C" rating,is for how fast the battery delivers the power,
      For instance;a 25c battery will deliver it's power at a slow,and even rate,from start to finish,giving a longer overall run time,
      Higher "C" rated batteries,such as 45c,and up,
      Will give the vehicle more punch when you stand on the throttle,because it's discharging its voltage at a faster rate,
      "Higher C rating = Faster discharge"
      Charging times vary,but are anywhere from a few minutes,too an hour+,
      A good "digital" lipo compatible,battery charger,
      is highly recommended,
      This truck was running on a "Gens ace" 3s 11.1 volt,2,200mah, 45c battery,
      which equals a relatively fast discharge,with a relatively short run time,"depending on how throttle happy you are",
      I generally get about 15 to 25 minutes of run time,
      I'm not sure on it's overall mph numbers,but I'm guessing around 60+mph,
      at 3/4 throttle,
      But I could be wrong 😕 lol
      Hopefully the info was informative my friend 😀

      I'm sure that there's a little more to it than just that 😕
      Suspension & Tires probably have a little something to do with it as well don't you think ❓😕
      Like if the suspension is too bouncy... it's probably gonna cause some hydroplaning issues 🤔
      And tires as well... Probably have a hard time hydroplaning distance with a set of street slicks 😂👍
      And how about lake conditions ?🌊🤔 Don't think that you would be hydroplaning water "with a RC" when there's whitecaps on the lake 🌊🤣 lol
      "Snowmobiles" have absolutely no problems hydroplaning, have been there and done that 🤔
      Heck... I even Hydroplaned a 300ft section, of 4 foot deep water, with a 1984 Kawasaki KX80 "back in the late 1980's" when I was a kid 😂 True story! (And it was witnessed by several people)
      Also Hydroplaned water with a 1985 "slammed out" Ford Thunderbird, when I was 19 years old 😂
      But hydroplaning, and keeping the hydroplane going for serious distance with this RC car, ...is a different story,🤔
      This truck has a couple of disadvantages that were working against it.😕
      #1 the suspension was way.... to springy "Like dribbling a basketball" 🤣
      #2 the truck has way way way..... to much power 😂👍 lol I can't get it past half throttle without Violently flipping it over backwards,😂 And that's precisely what happened here, I gave it too much gas, and backflipped it out in the middle of the lake, 😂 lol
      Good thing I made it Amphibious! 🤣
      That's another problem that haunts me "The fear of losing my RC to the lake"
      I Got around $1,300.00 U.S. dollars wrapped up into this little p.o.s., and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let the lake swallow it. 😂👍 Lol
      Thanks for your insightful advice Digeol 😄👍
      And many more thanks for checking out the video my friend.😊🤜🤛

      @R.C.A.D.  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It sure is okay 😁
      And your input is... very much appreciated Digeol,
      😊👍
      I was merely trying to convey, that there's a few more factors that come into play, other than just "proper speed" 😕😁👍
      "Proper Approach" is another one of those little factors 🤔😕
      Like here in this video for instance... The boat launch on Wolverine Lake meets the water at two different angles,🤔 One being a downward 20°- 30° degree angle, and the other being a slightly leaning to the right,😕 so at the water... the boat ramp is leaning down & to the right,🤔 kinda drastically too 😕 it's definitely a wicked angle to make a hydroplane attempt on.😂👍 Lol which the vehicle did 🤔😆 lol
      So at least it's got that going for it, .... which is nice! Haa ha ha 😂 lol
      Nevertheless... I do sincerely appreciate your input Brother,😊🙏👍
      I tend to be the same way with other people's videos too.. 😆😁🤜🤛

      Yep! It's an old video lol
      "Fyi" it currently has the smallest spur gear that I can get for it,"team losi Kevlar Spur gear" and the largest pinion gear that I can fit on it,the pinion gear is so large that it's almost scraping the chassis,and I also had too remove a bunch of plastic from the spur gear cover,too fit the pinion gear in their,and it's still a flip master 😕
      As for your comments;I'm not new too RC's,I've been building RC's since around 1978,so I'm quite familiar with gearing,and just about anything else RC related for that matter,but many thanks for your suggestions Tony,
