There actually was a set of rules for Warhammer to make a "friendly" chariot race. I can't remember were I saw it or for which edition it was, thouh. Anyway, nothing to do with Total War but I thought you might like the info.
The role of the plague priests in this army is to be a kind of distraction and frontline for the doomwheels. And yes, more engineers instead of them would haven been better. But there one thing i dont understand, that Legend is doing: the warlockmaster is on a doomwheel too, why not use him like one.I even put support items like helm of discord and flash bomb onto him.
Still, i am thankful for Legend rating my Doom(wheel)stack.
I'm fairly certain the lord was unaffected by the speed boosts, so he'd be caught and killed pretty easily. Same idea for the plague priests, they would have to use all their summons to keep themselves alive, and wouldn't have the freedom or mobility to support such speedy units. The best protection you can give them, as he mentioned, is more speed and no obvious weak point for the enemy to exploit.
@@ramped_shadowz6310 The warlockmaster has banner with 30% speed on him and is a bit faster than the doomwheels, but i agree with your point regarding the plague priests.
@@EndokrinerDisruptor Fair enough. I guess you could even get a fleet-footed lord and then they could even keep up with a few more engineer boosts.

Doomwheels just don't need a frontline if they are fast enough. With mobility stacks, you are always gonna be limited by the slowest non-hidable unit.

This stack is a lot better with more engineers. Gotta add 7-9 discplined engineers and only a single priest, so they get their speed maxed and so much ammo, that they could obliterate 2-3 stacks easily.
(Adding like 10+ engineers and a few priests with most missile units is pretty fun, especially rattling guns)
What for plague priests?
@@NM-lz8xc I think with that much ammo on a doomweels you can kill a lot of force. Also inf isn't a problem for them, so I don't see a point. Priests just not compliment this comp at all. Just add more engineers
@@l_ArAxus_l When your out of ammo you could fight close to the plague priest and get the benefit of arguably the best aoe spell in the game. You have always a use for a spellcaster that can kill 500-1000 enemy units just a with a couple of casts.
@@MotRi1986 I know that you can do A LOT with those tine plague priests. But what the point of doomweels if they good only with plague priests? You can have waaaay cheaper army if your main strength is casters
@@l_ArAxus_l a plague priest will make this army more flexible. Sometime you are in a situation where a well placed plague or summon can save one of your unit or give you the the weapon you need if you put your self in a bad situation. Like if you are hit by 3 stacks of end game crisis. And also, when you have hit the point where you have a full stack of doomeweels money is not an issue. A few more gold is like afart in the wind.
So in short, one single plaguepriest is your get out of jail card that will save your ass sooner or later.
Warlock Engineers need mount options. It would be great to give them doomflayers or doomwheels too!
Look for the "Expansion Mount" or "Bad Guys Mount" mods on the steam workshop.

It may not have been the best doomstack, but certainly one of the most entertaining! I like to use the woarpstone hoarder for a full stack of free flamers. Stupid, but so so fun. It actually wins a surpring amount of battles too. I've got about 6 doomstack / 1 man doomstacks i'm working on at the mo, and one of the late game WOC Tzeentch ones has a whole bunch of insanely boosted flamers.
If its any good once i've done more testing i'll send it in. Farming for the one mans is absolutely killing me at the moment, trying to get round the whole map as just manfredd means you get attacked by literally everyone.

doomwheels have an abysmal bugged autoresolve stat. had myself once are pretty late ikit army without fully metaslaving so it had like 4 doomwheels. i had to play manualy everything. the smalest fights like a 5 unit garrison murdered my doomwheels every time
Yeah the ai for auto resolve seems to think you calculate calvary by rushing them in first ahead of the rest of the army, so when you have an army with just a few calv auto has them getting hit for several minutes in it's calculations before the rest of your guys even get there. Same problem in reverse for flamethrower units, auto will give them 400+ kills per battle cause their damage per shot is so high, even though in actual use they are finicky as fuck to handle due to the game's issue with readjusting the entire stack to focus something that is already in it's attack cone.

Having three plague priests on screaming bells is about the worst thing he could’ve done to this army why not just have another three warlock engineers?! Or at least another 3 doomwheels.

This army would be good with some jezails. That would help with the lack of single target dmg and cavalry. Then, the wheels can mop up any infantry.
Playing skaven the first time now and it's exactly what I'm doing. Works very well

I know it goes against the meme of this stack, but a single jezzail with stalk + snipe and replacing the plague priests with engineers would probably be an ok stack. All the extra ammo from the 5 engineers + lord red line should be more than enough to deal with all the single entities of most armies.

His item of choice is of course the nuke, takes out the rest of the racers and guarantees his victory.
I wish CA would fix doomwheels in auto resolves. For some reason they die constantly, even in fights where nothing else takes damage. They're fun in manual battles, but it's tedious to have to almost constanly fight manually.

I don't think the Doomwheels have a 365' firing arc, more like 270ish. It doesn't look like they're able to hit things directly behind them. Their ability to hit aerial targets also seems to be pretty pathetic.

I have hated doomwheels ever since I charged one into a unit of greatswords back in TW2, and it immediately got stuck in it and got absolutely rekt without doing almost anything. Which is a shame, because they look awesome.

You can make this type of army really cheap if you go stack in warpstone hoarder heroes.

I wonder if at the 15-16 minute mark a better strategy would have been just to repeatedly plough through the middle of the enemy army?
My experience with Cavalry is that they get easily locked down and refuse to pull out. Especially in a long battle like this one, it is important to minimise damage. So charging at them is risky.
@@Manslayer-eo1nh The mass of doomwheels is considerably higher than that of cavalry, they can push through a lot easier. The purpose wouldn't be to get into melee though, more to shoot at bigger masses of troops as opposed to going around the edge and firing at the outliers.

I am not sure why you are hiding the engineers they are devastating on their own if set up right. Keeping them with the doom wheels and dropping warp lighting would have made that much faster.
