    My sporting shotgun is an A400 Accel but I recently purchased a 12 gauge and A .410 Armsan for use in the field and in the 12 gauge as a loaner for the youth trap team I coach. The Armsans seem to offer incredible value and good adjustability not to mention performance for the cost.

    Nothing whatsoever wrong with Armsan shotguns. They're marketed and sold under the TriStar brand here in the United States, and very highly regarded. I'm not a big fan of Beretta's automatic inertia shotguns. Why pay more and punish your body with all that extra recoil?

    • @leifhoklin2681
      @leifhoklin2681 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What are you talking about? The only inertia shotguns Beretta has ever made that I'm aware of are the pintails. All the others are gas. I challenge you to find a softer shooting 12 gauge. I have the new a300 Ultima in 12 gauge, and the recoil is virtually non-existent.

    I think the old Remington 1100 is still one of the best handling s/ autos out there and seem to go on forever.

    • @Lex5576
      @Lex5576 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, but the prices for an 1100 have gone through the roof. I think I paid $400 for my used one back in the early 90s. One of the best investments I've ever made, practically stole it for that price. Remington may soon start building all their shotguns in Alabama in Cuomo doesn't shut his big mouth. May help the price some.

      I think that was true for a long time, but its not today. My Super Black Eagle 3 Waterfowl is far superior, as is my SX4 competition. Even my Stoeger m3500 is honestly as good as my 1100 ever was, which is why I sold it. My buddy’s A5 is also a far better shotgun.

    I used to shoot both ranges in the semi and the higher have their edge in the long run very much little to no jamming compared to the cheap semi where after about 250 shots and the dirt start bilding up jam a lot and u need to keep cleaning it after every time you shoot

      I shoot a benelli Vinci ,balanced, light ( kicks because of it) , but if I was going to a high end gas gun I'd get the A400 lite, with the 3 inch chamber not one of these 3.5" monsters

    • @richardsveum8452
      @richardsveum8452 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree, I have shot 10’s of thousands of rounds though the 3 390’s I’ve owned. I foolishly sold my 390 trap because I moved to an area where there was no active clubs, sold the 390 Sporting when I went through my divorce and still have the 390 field that has been used heavily for everything that flies or runs through Iowa. The A400 is garbage by comparison. And yes I own a A400 Extrema sporting. Hate the gun and will be getting rid of it soon.

    My personal choice for a semi is a Benelli M2 Comfortech, though I did also pick up an old Hatsan that is still doing the job after several years.

    I think its all subjective. If you have an armsan you will probably think its great and mention the cheap price . If you have an A400 you will think its great and mntion the quality . Horses for courses me thinks !Many people swear by the Dacia Buster and mention how its great value for money . the CRV owner on the other hand will mention the refinement or quality !. Nuff sais . Buy what " floats your boat "

  • @danhill6333

    I think this will be the first time I've used my computer and not my cell to leave a comment. For everyone's sake, I hope I don't make a doctoral thesis of this or even a master's. I'm jaded towards the Beretta. I have one. A left hand one. When I made up my mind to get my first left hand semiauto shotgun, there were several choices for new: Beretta A400 xplor action, Benelli M2, Benelli SBE2, Franchi Affinity, (Remington Versamax wasn't on the market in LH), and a couple of Turkish imports. Immediately, the Turkish guns were out as they all looked cheap, and the wood style was just ehhh. The SBE2 was out as it was too much money in my book and even the M2 while being about the same price as the A400, I just didn't like the inertia drive. It was down to the A400 and the Affinity. Affinity was about $500 cheaper. But I took the words of my best friend Eric to heart. "Don't have any regrets." I'd shot his A400s and loved them. I bought the A400. I've put maybe 12K rounds through it and I can only remember maybe to failures to eject and one failure to fire (in very cold weather and dirty gun). In my opinion shoot everything you can get your hands on first, then make your selection. Listen to your heart, but heed your sensibilities and your pocketbook. I knew I was going to be putting 10s of thousands of rounds through the gun I bought, so I wanted something that was going to last. I would love to see someone do a durability test on the two. But 20K shells, even over here is about $3200 before tax. Of the guns I seriously considered, the A400 had the worse warrantee at 2+1 years, Benelli 7 or 10 years (can't remember), and the Franchi (7 years). A few comments on the video finally ;) The wood on the A400 is very expensive $485 to replace the stock without the kickoff as I recall. I agree the laser enhanced is being cheap. For a knock around gun or a starter the armsan seems like it would be a great value for money. My go to for that is a Remington 1187 SP. It's an all steel beast. Oh yeah, I seem to remember someone making fun of the ear plug guy for being left handed (in another video). What's up with that Johnny? ;). Just kidding mate. Thank you John, David, Sasha, and TGS for this video and all the very entertaining and informative content. Doctoral thesis over.

    • @tgsoutdoors
      @tgsoutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dave and I discussed doing a 10k test with each. No cleaning, just shoot for 10k straight with each. Count jams, reliability, and assess the damage at the end of the test. But 20k shells would be £4000 and clays to point them at would be £7000. A nice idea but an idea it will remain.
      A left handed shooter is still a shooter! I apologise for marginalising your people.
