In this video, we're going to explore an abandoned mansion in Portugal. This mansion was once the home of a Portuguese videographer, but his life was unlucky...
This is the story of Carlos Pinto, he was someone who had seemingly everything, his life was literally carved out for him. Carlos graduated from university as a cinematographer and worked for years in the United States on numerous well-regarded movies. During that time, he also met his wife Linda, and they made the decision to move back to his home country of Portugal. They moved into the extravagant mansion that Carlos inherited from his parents, this was also the place where their 2 beautiful children, Jori and Helga were born. Although everything appeared perfect for them, his wife was growing increasingly unhappy with their life in Portugal, and this led her to decide to move back to the United States.
Their son Jori had respiratory problems, so they made the decision that it would be better for him to stay in Portugal with Carlos, and Helga moved back to the USA with her mother. Over the years, Jori’s health grew ever more fragile, and he passed away at a very young age.
All of this had a big hit on Carlos his mental and physical health. Over the years this only grew worse, and he only lived until the age of 57, when he left planet earth behind forever…
Upon entering this peculiar house we got the feeling that somebody was still living there, even though the place had been abandoned for more than 15 years, it felt strange, just like somebody could come walking inside right at that moment.
Let us take you on a tour of what has been left behind, and tell you the story of their lives.

If you do a beautiful job of presenting people's homes that have long gone forgotten you have great respect and it shows your parents brought you up right
No they are breaking into these homes that's not respect, respect isn't going through a window or back door 😒
@@heatherbryant5596 How can you be so certain they dont have permission from the houses current owners? If they did not have owners permission, you would think a couple of trespassing lawsuits would have already taught them a thing or two but their faces are still not blurred and neither have they quit.
@@Cybernaut76 a they say things like "there's an opening in the back " or they say we got kicked off the property yesterday but we see there gone next store so it's OK to go in, but i will have to keep the sounds down " do you not listen to him talking? Come on with it..... they break and enter more than they have permission and we all know it.

@@heatherbryant5596 Wait a minute! I was watching these videos so friggin tired (going to sleep soon) you could absolutely not rely on me for any....detective type work. Now I saw another title from Bros of Decay saying something like "who lived in this abandoned forest home". If they cannot even tell the owners, then that was an unauthorized entry with about 95% certainty. What they are doing is rather foolhardy even if possible legal repercussions were counted out. Still I give them credit for great respect for those people who earlier lived in the nowadays abandoned properties. Thank you for hinting me about Pethericks and Life of Ryan.
There are several videographers who also explore abandoned homes but I enjoy the Bros of Decay the most. Your videos are very well done with glimpses into lives lived so long ago. But what I most appreciate is as you explore, you show such respect to the former inhabitants and even possessions left behind so many years ago. I enjoy learning about the families who called the house their homes. I notice you are careful to replace each item exactly as you find it. And you muse aloud with each discovered possession that waits silently & unnoticed beneath the dust and cobwebs. Sometimes I think former occupants whisper into your ear, ‘I will be your guide and will open for you a window into our lives.’
You boys are treasures too! Especially for we who have lived many years and remember as we explore with you. Thank you for your wonderful videos that satisfy our curiosity. Your respect the entire time you are on the property is commendable. Please always continue to share your passion for exploration with your friendly armchair travelers!

Such a sad story about the young sick boy and his mother and sister moving away. Heartbreaking….

The names and most of the details are made up. Most of them are hearsay and others are just figments of the narrator's imagination. He would have serious legal issues if he said their names and other details of identification on a public platform.

Interesting find. I love that it is not ransacked. The sad thing to me was the punishment room. I cannot imagine that as a parent or a child.

Everything in this house reflects the owner's bohemian personality; interesting paintings, drawings and sketches, musical instruments; so strange to see so many tv sets there; I loved watching your exploration, guys, you're great, as always!

There is the danger to of inhaling mold.
The ferns around the house were beautiful. I think the pig skin was a bed warmer and that was a giant Grasshopper! Lol
Looks like Carlos was a very eccentric man. It's so awesome to learn and see what the people who lived there were like.

As a mom I can't understand how she left without her sick son. I don't understand these women, never will.

He must have been terminal and she had to divide the custody.........those men were possessive of sons
I would think she would take the son with her to usa at least they could have more for him . They would had better doctors out there that try ..

This poor man was so eaten up with grief he hoarded , he lost everything that meant the world to him , heartbreaking. I can't understand how the mother moved to another country with a very sick child she left behind. Sad .
I could happily live in that house, it is beautiful 😍 I don't think it's messy, I think they were just very busy and creative. And with the added stress of dealing with a child who has life threatening health problems your priorities change. This is why what Lesley and Danny do is so important. The dust and cobwebs are always going to be here, but we won't be. I love you guys 😘 thank you so much 😘😘
What a great find! All of the different kinds of things inside the house was wild. Thank you for the beautiful narrative. I am surprised that the wife did not come back and sell the house. Or the daughter for that fact. Too bad it ended up this way.

Very sad home. Who knows what went on in this mans life. It looks like to me he was very sad and lonely. I dont know if thats so but something is not right in that home. You two stay safe and we will keep watching.

I restore vintage lighting, it's my thing. I like to see if I can spot and identify old lighting in you videos. At 26:42 is a beautiful rare 1930's Original Kaiser Idell model 6551 with a Chrome Pole Bauhaus Desk Lamp and another Idell at 29:19 I just thought I'd share that with you. A very gentle & tender presentation, showing sensitivity & humour towards a lovely gentle...man , who lived alas , such a short life. It's also a tragedy , losing wife daughter & ultimately his young son (forever ) ... that , it's most likely that he gave up on his own life !! For Life without LOVE is no life at all , is it ? Greatly Respect your presentation & heartily cheer you for the same .

Hi Lesley & Danny, Wow this Portugal House was Truly a Time Capsule of Carlos & his Family! Sad that son died so young, was thinking he should of went to United States where more doctors are & maybe they could of cured him! Daughter being Healthy might of lived longer keeping her Father alive longer! I wonder why Mother & Daughter did not come back & take the belongings, of pictures, clothes, books, Paintings!! Wow 14 TV`s, 5 DVD or VHS machines & 1 microwave, 1 sewing machine & 1 piano that still plays, 1 record player!!
Love Carlos pictures! You 2 have done a Great job telling us things about this house! A History Museum should buy this place & show off to everyone about this Famous Family, before whole house is ruined! Lesley & Danny have a Good Work Week, & You 2 a Great Weekend!!

Hello Lesley and Danny, i think that this man was a hoarder. Carlos had so much stuff, and had trouble getting rid of things. It is very sad to think of Carlos losing his son. "Time OUT" cupboard.
I understand it is a little shrine to his son it must have being the worst pain I am worrying everyday about my mum and dad I am 47 so I am very lucky they are both here 😁 they are Purley one can get better one managers day by day
That house is massive especially each room. The big bathroom is bigger than the main rooms at the house. In Utah that I grew at. Lesley the Guy on camera is named Danny is he the same person that comes out on EX, he has a different name but looks like that Guy. I loved to see the old furniture. The piece in minute 36:00 its definetely older than the 2000s. Maybe from 70s. I have seen many like that. Typical portuguese old furniture. Great video!
