      I found him in February 2018 and he really changed my life. It took me a few weeks of listening everyday before I acted. Started with the baby steps and paid off all my debt , 40k, in 14 months! Never thought it was possible.

    Im going through divorce, since last year, will be finalized next month finally. That has left me with about 30k in debt including my car note. I started watching Dave's videos on January of this year, and gave me the inspiration I needed to move forward financially (which is very stressful to me). within a month I have been able to get rid of 15k worth the debt by selling my car and paying off credit cards (collections). It motivates me a lot to know that I will be debt free in 4 months!! I want and will be financially stable for me and my daughter, when things get difficult, I think of her and reminds me why im doing this which give me a lot of strenght to move forward. We all can be debt free!

    I’m asked all the time how I save so much money every month. They automatically assume it’s because I’ve been debt-free since 8/15/16. While that does help (A LOT), it was because I was intentional. I didn’t accidentally build a very nice five-figure savings. Everything I’ve done to give me the quality of life I have was done because I was intentional.

      I sometimes tire of hearing how 'lucky' we are when something comes along and we don't need to panic, we're financially prepared to handle it without the chaos. It's not 'luck', it's focus and intention for the long haul. Many want to results of that focus and intention, few are willing to employ them to get those results.

    • @michaelh9251
      @michaelh9251 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I remember back when i was an arrogant 17 year old in 2009 listening to Dave Ramsey's highschool program in school thinking "Wow, you know, this guy is pretty smart! Nothing he says about money strikes me as dumb!" 13 years later i'm still just as arrogant and I still think he's pretty darn smart! I recommend anyone and everyone to him, his methods are sound and they work well. Thanks for making the world a more fiscally responsible place, Dave!!!

    I tried to get everydollar from play store, but it doesn't allow me to download it because I live in South Africa. Was very dissapointed about it, but I created my own zero based budget on excel and it's been going great. Can't start a month without budgeting it's such a big part of my life.

    been using microsoft excel has an "autosum" button that adds up all of my expenses as i enter them daily. I put my months January- December on top and all my expenses like Rent, Gas, Groceries, Utilitys, Insurance in the columns on the left and enter them daily so i can keep track of how much a spent and where. Also realize how often im spending by needing to manually enter each transaction!

    There is a good app called You Need A Budget - YNAB for short. Allows you to make separate budgets, give every dollar a category to go in and tells you the age of your money. It's very good

    • @Phantom121904
      @Phantom121904 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This. I haven't given Everydollar a whirl, but YNAB is excellent once you get the hang of it. You only budget the money you have, not money you expect to make. This encourages you to get at least a month ahead of your expenses (ex. money I earn this month is used to budget out the next). Regardless of what tools you choose to use, get on a budget!

  • @MarcusDace

    I hate it when people say, "just use autopay! I don't know why you don't put everything on auto pay like everyone else! You need to get with the times! "...well I like to be in control and hands on with my finances. I have very few little things that are on autopay and I still watch them like a hawk. This idea of blindly letting your money flow in and out of your account is so lazy to me, and just allows you to lose control of expenses and end up with an over draft. I'm making a hobby out of managing personal finance and watching it improve. 😁
