    One of the main issues with a Drive-By-Wire electronic throttle is the dual or triple TPS, throttle position sensor. The TPS potentiometer, by definition develops blind spots in its carbon tracking. The whole issue is exacerbated by the fact that on Drive-By-Wire Actuators, the TPS sensor is a dual or triple unit. The idea for it, is that the ECM is constantly comparing the multi TPS signal. If the unit develops a fault, then the two readings will not correspond, and a faulty code is issued.
    Here's how to use the Drive-By-Wire Actuator Controller to detect TPS issues.
    Connect a Graphing Voltmeter to the Drive-By-Wire Actuator TPS. This is a multi TPS sensor so, use channels 1 and 2. Set the voltmeter to a maximum of 5 volts.
    Disconnect the Drive-By-Wire Actuator motor connector, and connect the Drive-By-Wire Actuator Controller. Slowly work the aperture control potentiometer. Operate the control from full closed, to full open, and do so without a hesitating movement. The idea is to swing the Drive-By-Wire Actuator Multiple TPS to detect any blind spots in the read out.

    Due to the huge amount of questions and feedback from my viewers, we're considering the possibility of manufacturing some of these tools after the series wraps up (ends).     DBW systems use a dual TPS. Also, clogged or carbonized throttle will cause precisely this CODE. Clean thoroughly and make sure it is not binding. Do not attempt to force open the throttle body. Then redo the relearn according to specs. Not all relearn procedures are the same...Good luck.

    No, you need a STEPPER motor actuator board or circuit module to do this. Steppers are directly related to robotics. These are motors that turn a few degrees with the pulses. They're very exact and accurate that's why they're used. Makes sense?

    If you did some form of adjustment before and the BASELINE is off the charts, then the relearn will never happen. The ECM will see an OFF range dual TPS and cancel the relearn, hence your issue. I have very little information to be certain, but it's a thought. Good luck.

    tq for the reply...... i will recheck it again... 1 more question... can previous throttle offset setup could cause the re-condition Throttle Body give similar symptoms?...

    Identify the wires. One two wores are probably the position sensor and the other two the motor itself. Some DBW may use a stepper motor haven't seen one yet. If so then this gadget doen't work on stepper motors. Thanks

    Thanks, if so is the scope is the only way to test stepper motor to see if the pulsed ground/ power is activated in all control wires.. I see 4 control wires(Pulsed ground) and 2 power. pls advise. is there any to activate the stepper motor with test light or power probe.

    I plan to test on Nissan 6-wire Stepper IAC. It has 4 control wire from PCM and 2 +ive wire. however the unit that you show has one +ive wire and one negative wire. so how do we connect, please advise. can u pls advise what wire from drive by wire should be connected to the unit and will there be a chance that drive by wire module have more than one coil if so how to activate it, please.

    hi, i have fuel injector pulse width tester, can i use that to test drive by wire actuator?. if so that needs to be connected to 12 volt positive and ground is that right.

    Need help and still new in this field... I have a problem with my DBW Throttle Body. when I installed it and used a obd2 throttle relearning, I keep receive a error about Actuation Range Exceeded.. can u tell my why or what actually happen.. and I have a Siemens VDO TB.. tq..

    No, don't do it or you run a big risk of damaging the DBW actuator. The issue is frequency. Injectors run at varying frequency, depending on RPM. DBW motors run at a set Freq. and what changes is the duty cycle. Makes sense to you?
