I enjoyed seeing your painting techniques and set-up. I was reminded of prepping a couple of my chipped Johnny Lightning cars with masking tape as a child, and waiting for my dad to return home from work to spray them for me. ("Verde green" in one case, from a can of touch-up spray for the family's '60 Buick...!) Interesting video, thank you.

Thanks to your inspiration I recently tackled my model of this. Mine had the roof and was originally ‘nipple’ pink with a black roof. I changed it and made it silver with a glossy black roof. Great job Bob. Stunning.

Like the colour choice Bob and great renovation. Think reds the best colour for this model. I've a few of these 2 in white, one in red and a mint turquoise/ cream roof one. So pleased to see you put your spin on one anyways. Take care 😀👍🚘

That said, great restoration and transformation. That red and yellow turned out nicely. Like a couple other comments I to wasn't sure on the yellow, but did it ever pop with the red, good one. You sure have an eye for colors.

Really nice job, Bob! Great work on the revival of the bodywork. Red looks fantastic though I was never keen on the yellow: much too garish and never offered by the factory on the real thing. White, yes; yellow, no. Absolutely looks the part, though!

Hi Bob thanks to your spraying techniques I’ve made a nice kit and successfully sprayed it I’ve used the same paint and it goes on great cheers mate and as for covid no worries I’m fed up with it too driving my bud looking like I’m going to hold up my passengers hehehehe ,you and Mrs bob be safe 😂😊👍🏻thunderbirds are go.........😳

I’m a big fan of the Thunderbirds of that year, 1958,59. Bob the paint job, detailing & interior on the car is beautiful, love red a very good choice I might add. I am learning a lot from you & Martin Dare, you guys are my favorite to watch. Keep up the yupping my friend, you & your misses take care & stay safe though the up and coming holidays. 😎👍👍👍🚘🚗

Nice restoration Bob , l was a bit concerned when yiu said yiu were going to do the interior Yellow , but it does contrast well with the red body of that Square Bird as it's affectionately known. By the way, this was the Thunderbird that Elvira Mistress of the Dark drives , though hers is black with a leopard print interior.

Best entertainment, I have not got a telly. Or a radio for that matter. Love seeing the toys I used to have being made better than new.
Excellent resto bob those wheels are easily removed by putting a flat bladed screwdriver bebind the wheel gently twist and it slides of its spline to put them back on put a punch upright in your vice rest the wheel on the end of the punch and with a tiny hammer tap the wheel back on the spline also the best thing to use to polish those wheels is duraglit its in a tin and its like cotton wool i use it on my restos it brings up those wheels like new i noticed in the background youve got the driving school car ive got 2 of these to restore but the red sighn that you steer it with is missig and you cant get these off steve flowers or any parts suppliers which is odd because they are always broken look forward to seeimg your next resto bob great channel cheers

I used to do the Airfix kits when I was younger but they seem to be very expensive these days .

bought my mk 1 also ice blue in 1973 for 35 quid lol she was one of the very first off the production line, ill never part with it

The result was a cracker, totally transformed. Have you ever tried to repair any of the old mechanical corgis? I would love to see a detailed repair of the motor if you ever get your hands on one.

The S means suspension.Some early Corgi's had no suspension.

Really nice, good color combination. Have you restored the Corgi Camero or Firebird. I have a Camero, but the suspension looks complicated. I am not sure how to work with it.
Never had one , mostly do the older stuff Bob.
Enamal over lacquer but never lacquer over enamal. Great restoration of a Ford. I hate Fords. Lol.
Hi Bob, I am no expert nor do I have any experience restoring these cars but do you ever resto-mod or keep things as original as possible?
Personally I love what you do but I also love to see vehicles that have had all the details painted in going beyond the original factory finish such as painting all lights and reflectors the correct colour, putting silver trim features on such as chrome trim around glass, especially on convertibles
