Haters gonna hate the Logans, but we’re looking at half the entire original cast here, and the last time the entire original Logan family are together again, and the final appearance of the wonderful Lesley Woods as Helen/grandma. To me, seeing this great cast return always takes me straight back to the golden years of the show - where it all began - and it doesn’t get much better than that.
I do agree for nostalgia purposes ! The Logans were a crucial part of the show’s original premise and I even liked Beth as a character- a sacrificing mom who deserved some happiness. As the show progressed and it became them vs Stephanie, I couldn’t stand that entire family. So glad they were replaced by the Spectra’s.
Beth was the best! The Logans today bear no relation to what they were back when the show started, and suck big time… I guess nearly every character has changed that much too aside from Brooke and Eric. The problem originally was that Bill Bell thought he’d written himself into a corner with Beth and Eric because of Angela and Throne/Caroline/Ridge, so he just dumped her and Stephen quickly and then Katie soon after. What he absolutely should have done before all that was form an alliance between Beth and Bill, keep her on, and then bring in the Spectras. Remember Donna was their head model until she left. There was so much scope for Storm as well who was just absolutely wasted - imagine Eric or Sally giving him a job as their attorney and fighting the other over copyright, etc. Anyway, I’m just reminiscing… 😆 let’s just enjoy this reunion for what it really is - nostalgia 🔥
@@DonaldTaft form an alliance between Beth and Bill? To me, that couldn't work bc: 1. Beth was too much of a mouse for Bill... He'd never be attracted to her. And 2. @TriniT21 not a relationship, just an alliance - realistically Bill absolutely would have and should have offered Beth a job at Spencer Publications once she took in and helped Caroline after her attack. That Caroline didn’t even think of it (living with Beth and seeing what a struggle she was going through financially) was ridiculous. Eventually Beth might have become fond of Bill after Eric left her to go back to Steph/Angela, and then, yes, as you say, if they’d gotten together, it would have only ended that way because he really wanted Steph and Beth wouldn’t be good enough (although, from what I recall was spoken of his first, deceased wife, she was hardly like Steph either). I can just see there would have been a lot of opportunities there - Bill trying to find out (cheekily) who Beth was involved with at first, then Steph trying to force Bill to get rid of her once she found out about her and Eric, Beth discovering Donna’s nude photo shoot and Bill’s involvement in those magazines, her becoming involved with Sally when helping Caroline with Eye on Fashion, etc, etc. Imagine the huge rivalry they could have created between Margo and Beth if they’d had Margo find out she wanted Eric as well. I think Bill would have initially struggled against Steph trying to get rid of her because of what she did for Caroline, then relenting, then having Caroline face off with him to protect her. Anyway, I just like to think of the many interesting possibilities that could have been achieved retaining the original cast and the Spectras, creating more drama but at the same time making sense.
Eric: "Think about Thorne and what today means to him." Stephanie: "I have. And it breaks my heart."
