- Does the amount of addons in your MSFS2020 Community folder affect the sim performance full test
My Addons are located on a different M2. Drive to my MSFS2000 SIM .
I use MSFS Addon-Link to

Nice video. Although I was wondering where you’ve got all your add-ons installed, like which ssd/hdd? Or are they on the same disk as the main app? Thanks !
All installed on another M.2 SSD
Depends where it is, and how fast the drives are transferring data
Had then on m.2 ssd kc 3000 so 6000 must read write same as hd I have som on
Thanx a lot. Very interesting. I use Addon Linker as well, and try to always keep only the addons I need for my next flight. 👍
P.S. This video could be a lot shorter if you just did edit it a bit. 😊
Yeah could be shorter but when I do testing I put in every thing I do so everyone can see everything. Editing sometimes cuts out info. I did shorts of it as well
my load time is about 2 minutes a have about 40 addons from aircraft, bases, liveries etc and nothing in my community folder affected my loading times until i bought the miltech supercarrier pro and it pushed it too atleast 5minutes+ , uninstalled it when not using it and it goes back too loading quickly 2mins+
Sounds interesting I have that too might disable it & see , Thanks
@@bigalsplayin a should of added that was the whole miltech carrier bundle that i uninstalled..👍
Great info thanks. How were the load times compared full vs empty?
Check out th-cam.com/video/cXnVN6YpPsI/w-d-xo.html there was a nearly min difference in load time from empty & full community folder & that's me using Addon Linker
My PC, loads just as fast, with ALL, of the Community, folder, where I have 100 add-ons
Add -FastLaunch to avoid seeing first screens and speed up the loading to the main menu.
C:\WINDOWS\System32\cmd.exe /C start shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App -FastLaunch
Thanks for doing this. Can you spell out or point to your PC specs.

Thanks, but I was wondering about your hardware@@bigalsplayin
Can you confirm vsync and all frame limiters were off? Its a very stable 60 suggesting you have a bit of extra performance and it's limited to 60 then again, you may have found the best combination of hardware and settings.
I have link to My MSFS Settings in the Description

@@bigalsplayin thanks, looked at it now, it is off in the sim
The NUMBER of addons you have enabled in your Community folder has no impact on anything other than LOAD TIMES. It is the TYPE/PURPOSE of the addons you have enabled in your Community folder that affects in-flight PEFORMANCE - addons such as We Love VFR scenery, landmarks, addon airports and traffic (AIG) all have a detrimental impact on FPS as they add to the work the CPU and GPU have to do for each frame. Disable all of those type of addons that you have enabled in MSFS Addons Linker as can be seen in this video and check again, as long as you haven't got anything enabled that is adding to the work required to render each frame you won't see a difference. If what you are implying were true then we would all see a drop in FPS just from all the addon liveries we have installed, and this is NOT the case. Also, you need to configure and save a flight for testing and load that flight for EVERY test you do so the flight parameters are EXACTLY the same EACH TIME, surely this is OBVIOUS. In your "comparison" flights you fly completely different flight paths and fly over different parts of scenery so you will see a difference in FPS due to what the simulator is having to draw, flying over the sea and comparing it to a flight over land populated with houses and buildings is OBVIOUSLY going to yield different results - duh. And increase your mic volume, your voice is barley audible.
