Doha Metro Gold Line Opens - Take the Metro to Villaggio or Souq Waqif! - Qatar Rail

- Qatar Rail opened the Doha Metro Gold Line to the public officially on Thursday 21st of November 2019. Ultimate Freggle went on a ride with the metro in Qatar from al Wakra station to Villaggio for a special mission. Check out what the Doha Metro Gold line looks like and which stations are now available in Qatar!
The stations on the Doha Metro Gold Line are:
Ras Bu Abboud
Qatar National Museum
Souq Waqif
Msheireb (Change over between Gold and Red line here)
Bin Mahmoud
Al Sadd
Joaan
Al Sudan
Al Waab
Sports City
Al Aziziyah
The Doha Metro opening times are
Saturdays to Thursday 06:00 - 23:00
Friday 14:00 - 23:00
Doha Metro ticket prices
A single journey ticket costs 2 QR
A day pass costs 6 QR
A travel card costs 10 QR without any credit. Credit can then be topped up.

The metro helped us, travel time is shorter, from al wakra more cheaper 6riyal day pass, taxi is probably 40qr which you save lot of money, 34 riyals can be food for family, the metro helped travel in Qatar, and consumers

Qatar Metro rocks! Wow! That is just a hop, skip and jump inside Villagio Mall. Now more people can go to Villagio... without worrying about parking space!

@@shovosokalbd.2110 Hi yes I already answered your question elsewhere, but to go on the Metro you will first need a bus ride to the nearest Metro station, which will be Lusail when it opens in the future.

any ideas what the metro will be like on national day? I'm flying back to the UK for Christmas on national day :D
Good point! It might be an interesting day for the Metro with high volume of passengers, as the roads are getting overfull on that day normally.. Let's see how it will be. If you are flying early I would imagine you should still be fine!

Yes it is. Day pass you can use any line anywhere and change to other lines for the rest of that day! 👍

I live in Al khor but I don’t know which is the near station from Al khor. Please help me how I can start from journey. My destination Azyizia (Villagio Mall)
Hi! What I know is that the northern most station on the Metro will be Lusail. But how to get to that station from al Khor with public transport, I'm not sure. Maybe a Metrolink or other bus service will become available. Anybody else might have an idea?

It will happen, It was officially predicted to expand the red line to al khor
You can take taxi to Lusail station to msheireb take gold line to aziziyah

Taking a short ride(eg:Al Riffa to Education City) Single Journey recommended 2 qr
Taking a long ride(eg:Al Wakra to Msheireb then Msheireb to Al Aziziyah) Day pass recommended 6 qr
Traveller/Likes reusing: Travel Card:10 qr can top up(Standard)
Taking a short luxurious ride(eg: Al Wakra to Ras Bu Fontas) Single Journey Gold Club recommended 10 qr
Taking a long luxurious ride(eg:Al Wakra to Msheireb, Msheireb to Al Riffa) Day pass Gold Club recommended 30qr
Traveling with family: Day pass(if long ride): 3 people: 18 qr 4 people: 24qr 5 people 30qr
Single Journey (short ride) 3 people:6 qr 4 people:8qr 5 people:10qr
For less crowded trains:
Saturday: go at 6:00 am to 13:00 pm
Sun-Wed: go at 6:00 am to 15:00 pm
Thu: go at 6:00 am to 13:00 pm
Friday not recommended if vlogging privately

Is there a Metro Station near at the Hilton Doha in Westbay, Diplomatic District ?
Hi Michael X, the nearest station to the Hilton in Westbay Diplomatic is DECC. In a straight line the station is just over 1 kilometer from the Hilton hotel.. I hope that helps!

It's amazing how empty is their metro. I presume majority of the people have their own car. I guess they don't mind the operating expenses regardless of how much they earn from few public ridership.
Agree it looks very quiet in the video! Of course the line only just opened, this was filmed on the first day so it takes some time for the news to spread. Also I like filming better when it's quiet =)
