i feel like the next part should be improving your sum of best, with those consistent golds it shouldnt be impossible. Your old sum of best was 1:00:59 and your final was 1:01:27. Less than half a minute of improvement needed.
The speedrun is actually really forgiving at a beginner level. Even at higher levels it’s much more forgiving than games like SM64. I’d recommend watching Tomshi’s beginner tutorials if you want to get into this game!
You don't even really need a timer as long as you submit video footage of the game along with a final time. Even a camera pointed at your tv will do for footage as long as the game is clearly visible

The painting in metro doesn't function yet in that scenario if I remember correctly. The painting only works *after* you've selected either lake or wooded. It's just a blank painting until then.
