This is the D8 that appears at the Conneaut, Ohio D-Day reenactment.
Like most tractors of the era, this D8 has "dead" PTO. This means that the PTO which powers the blade winch only operates when the master clutch is engaged. Thus to raise the blade when stationary, you need to disengage the clutch, take it out of gear, then reengage the clutch. Reverse the sequence to get moving again.
The hissing sound is the service truck lubing the big Michigan 475B loader.

My father had a D8 in the mid-70's with the overhead lift cable and rear cable-spool. It also had the factory 4-post roof on the later 50's D8. He said he believed it was a '57, but I have only found this one video, yours, of and overhead cable-lift model. What do you know of the '50's D8 models and their accessories? We had to leave ours in Emlenton, PA, in 1979 when his oil-field business closed. Last I saw of it, 25 years ago, it was sitting at a private, now-closed, heavy equipment "museum" about 2 miles from where we ran it in the oil fields outside Emlenton, PA.

I can vision an atoll out in the pacific ocean building a runway for superforterss bommerers during WWII.
It's not up anymore, but many years ago I built ray traced models (POV-Ray) of this D8, a pull pan, and a B29, and did a scene just like what you said. Unsure if it's still around on a disk somewhere.
