I just found your videos recently and I love hearing your monthly updates, but I would love it even more if you posted more knitting videos!! I feel like I've learned a lot about yarn from you, so I would love to hear more. Again, love your videos!
I love your knitting videos! Would love to see the process of you reclaiming yarn from sweaters and you showing the thrifted items before they turn into yarn!
I've legit knit a whole Louvre sweater, tried it on once, then ripped the whole thing out because I wasn't happy with the fit. I've used the same yarn to begin an april cardigan, then a marseille sweater, but I wasn't happy with the drape for the cardigan, or with the amount of flat knitting for the second, so I'll return to using that yarn to make a Louvre sweater in a smaller size 😅 With the brown yarn that from the men's sweater, I know you mentioned in a later video that you were going to use it for a rug, but if you still want bulky garment ideas, I recommend Sweater no 9 or the Holiday slipover.
What she said below. 😊 I'm glad you showed off your Badger as I just got that pattern. Yet to buy the yarn. I've heard people say the split for armhole is too low for wearing under a coat. May be a problem for me. I would love to see any knitting- related info. How to repurpose yarn, dying, yes please.
I wore my badger again yesterday with a coat and it was okay, but the sleeve separation is a little low. The short row shaping happens after the yoke which contributes to the problem, but Rebecca from the Crea Bea Podcast made hers without the short rows and regretted it, so proceed with caution! I hope it turns out for you.
I just found your podcast and now I'm binge-watching while knitting a pair of socks 😉 I would love to hear more about how you reclaim yarn (I've done it a bit in the past but it's so much work - are there secrets to making it easier?!). Also, welcome to Norway! 😊 Rauma is probably the most affordable Norwegian yarn and Finull PT2 is very versatile and available in lots of colours. I love Lofoten Wool - they're based in the North and have lovely, sheepy yarn (a cardigan in their "Skarv" yarn might be my next cast on). In Oslo you should also visit Værbitt (she dyes on Norwegian wool and has a bit of everything) and Garntopia is probably the best place for the "typical" Scandinavian yarns people like (Knitting for Olive, Isager, Rauma). Husfliden in Oslo has Hillesvåg and Fru Kvist has a lot of Isager. Grünerløkka Garn has a lot of Norwegian yarn but also more international stuff you won't find anywhere else in the city (BC garn for example). Oh and at the Hillesvåg mill they might have some of their giant cakes of unspun yarn!
Ah Sian thank you so much for all this great information! I'm taking lots of notes and I definitely want to try and get my hands on those Hillesvag unspun cakes. Reclaiming seems to be a popular request so I'm definitely going to make a video on that soon. Thanks for watching, glad to have you here! xx
Moar Knits also here on youtube had the same problem with the Badger and Bloom, and split the stitch count for one of the increase rows so that there were more earlier - I'm not explaining it well but she does on one of her podcasts. Just in case you did decide to knit it again!
For bulky sweater/ cardigan ideas try Tara-Lynn Morrison. She uses bulky weight yarn for most of her designs. Oh and by the way I am really enjoying your videos.
Thanks for another great episode! I love many of Hanne Rimmen’s designs too, I’ve knit two of her designs so far and I’ll definitely knit more. I would love to hear and learn from you about yarn dyeing, particularly about overdyeing yarns that you may not like the color of anymore. Also any particular resources to guide you on dyeing (books?) or does it just come down to experience and trial-and-error. Thanks again, Marissa
which Hanne Rimmen design's have you made? I'm really excited about her new Nord sweater, just waiting for the pattern release in English. I'd love to make a video about dying! A lot of my knowledge has been picked up from my mom or from trial and error, but there are some great resources on youtube as well. I really like Essence of Autumn's videos. It's nice to just see how people work and pick up tips from observing.
@@apt.atelier I really want to knit Nord too, I like the simple colorwork stripes throughout. I have knit the Prisme vest and the Aero sweater, both have been really enjoyable colorwork yokes to knit. Thank you for the recommendation to Essence and Autumn's videos, I will have to check them out!
Oh my gosh, I'm currently working on the badger and bloom unisex and the short rows are confusing me. lol! But maybe it's just me, do you remember where the beginning or round landed? -_-
Hey! What's the name of the thrift store in Seattle for craft supplies that you talked about? I recently moved to Seattle & am looking for new yarns. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)
It's called Seattle Recreative! It's located in Greenwood. There's also a yarn store just down the road called The Fiber Gallery and they're having a big sale this week! I hope you find something great!
Absolutely agree with you!! I have some sweaters I’ve knit twice and still frogged it again….I’m picky 😅

I don't remember exactly but I think I recall it being somewhere unusual... Good luck to you!!

@@apt.atelier Thank you!🙏
You make me laugh.
Also have had the rite dye black that's actually like a purple black. Very annoying 😒
If you sit back more from the camera we could see your work. Your work is beautiful but we really can’t see the complete piece. SOOO frustrating
