  • This f’ing Reverse packing - Jaws only
    Reverse packing is an extremely useful skill to have and if you have ever done frenzel in your life then surely you know how to reverse pack.
    There are however nuances to reverse packing, as it can be done by shifting a smaller volume or a bigger volume of air, whether this is performed with tongue only or jaws only.
    In this video I will show you the advanced equalisation sequence when reverse packing with Jaws only from the surface at -0.3m and bringing it down to failure, which in this case it’s at -21m.
    This gives me a ratio of 3, which is fairly decent, but it’s still not as efficient as when air shifting is done with a Mouthfill technique.
    How to check your Reverse Packing - Jaw only ratio
    Passive exhale
    Go to -0.3m
    Open the jaws and close them, thus shifting air from lungs to mouth
    Close the glottis and start the dive
    Empty the cheeks
    Tongue to T, K,H
    Tilt the head down at the end to scoop the last bit of air.

    I invite you to check out my earlier videos for a 4.2 ratio when air shifting is done with Mouthfill Technique instead of Reverse Packing.
    And please remember, airshifting by Mouthfill is always done with M sound or abdominal contractions as this will allow you to fill the back of the throat like a pelican, thus adding at least 1 whole point to your ratio.
