Regarding how CBD affects CB1: Anandamide is broken down in the brain by an enzyme called FAAH. When stress (cortisol) is high, FAAH goes high, and anandamide goes down. CBD lowers FAAH, which in return raises the levels of anandamide = more CB1 activity.

This is the same expressive term that I say out loud when I'm sitting on the couch after I've taken that first puff after work. But it seems mine has more H's.. FAAHHHHHH!!....

    As a person diagnosed with Paranoid Schizoaffective Disorder I'd like to contribute my anecdotal evidence;
I know that when seeing my doctor I was informed on occasion that finding an appropriate resolution to my condition there was no expectation to actually resolve my underlying condition, said differently it is expected I would always suffer from intense paranoia, manic depressive disorder, and auditory hallucinations that comprises my diagnosis.
these symptoms these symptoms first appeared in my case during the common teenage years (about 15) where schizophrenia is normally first manifest. As I understand it teenagers are commonly found to be experimenting with drugs in that age group.
I have a genetic history that includes schizophrenia. Studies have shown individuals with schizophrenia commonly have increased gray matter as compared to the average individual.
I quit consuming cannabis and soon sought psychiatric help still having severe symptoms.
Having a brain chemistry imbalance and being informed the attempted solution to put things like serotonin back in balance, after years, I decided to attempt a resolution through removing psychoactive pill medication and let my brain find it's natural balance.
I found that my symptoms are best managed though mindfulness/mindful meditation.
The practice of awareness of what I am feeling. Describing those emotions and accepting them to later consider there root cause. The same for stray thoughts. Acknowledge the thoughts as internal dialogue and making the effort to support or mute positive or negative patterns.
It has been 9 years of these efforts and I have not been back on psychiatric medication. As time progresses in my symptoms have reduced in general. My flair up of unhealthy thought patterns have become less intense and less frequent corraltive to intense emotional states and stressful situations.
I won't say my symptoms have gone away but I would say my symptoms are for the most part in remission.

Thank you very much for speaking up. I have had some very strange symptoms lately dealing with my equilibrium and anxiety at just about the same time, on set from one single episode of getting too damn hot to sleep at 3:00 in the morning in mid july. Since then I have not been the same. But I can tell you that the only thing that has brought me back to a stable physical condition is positive energy. I can't express how important it has been for me to try to stay positive just in the last couple of months, this last two years has been absolute shit for everybody. Not to mention, it is compounded because everything is connected. That being said, physical and emotional are very very connected. Things do exist that we have known about for many thousands of years, heartache, Broken Heart, cold hearted, all of these things actually do correlate with exactly the physical and emotional relation. Heart health is very much connected to Mental Health, the good news is that we have the ability to think positive. And we do have the strength. You're not alone dude. I hope neither one of us has to do heavy drugs again, having faith that we have power within us to do something positive with our own bodies and our own minds. This is your universe, whatever exists, exist. The more sensitive or acknowledged you are to a certain energy, the more sensitive or intense your reactions will be. Smile until you feel like it, it does something to your balance. Everything is energy, get barefooted and go feel the Earth. Get grounded when you feel unstable. This world is here to take care of us, we owe it to each other.

Great post...and I totally agree with you. Peace of mind is best managed, through mindfulness/mindful meditation. If I have one regret in life, it's that I wish I had not smoked weed as a youngster in my teen years.

What should matter is the edible doesn’t have all the negative side effects compared to medically prescribed medications

..but edibles do present far higher potential of overdosing, less control over the high, a much longer bad experience if one arises, and likely include sugars and fats unsuitable for long term regular consumption for body and teeth.

Very good Conference. The only tiny bothersome aspect was Mr. John Hatch's voice infection. Mr. Hatch was very knowledgeable and basically on the whole, well-spoken. However, he repeatedly ends his sentences with his voice inflecting a up-note. When this is done it mimics the inflection that sounds just like the person is asking an question and not vocalizing a statement. Is this lilt a Massachusetts type of dialect?

But it's often considered scientifically respectful when you're not stating all of your resources as you speak.
Sometimes what appears to be regional accents or speaking patterns may be the result of teaching methods and learning circles.

The analogy of cannabis plants to dogs seems a bit far afield. Would it
not be more reasonable to compare our genetic manipulation of any one
of various plants, vegetables, or fruits to the cannabis plant therefore
staying in the realm of plants. After all, cannabis is definitely not a mammal.
Also do I find Mr. Jikomes beginning to be incorrect when he states that cannabis reached the United States in the early part of the 20th century. If he could, now would be the time to make changes to his knowledge base. From historical texts we learn that in 1492 Christopher Columbus brought cannabis to America and traded seeds with the native Americans. In the year of 1620, the Mayflower also brought cannabis seeds as cargo to be used and to be farmed. The first drafts of the American Constitution as well as the Constitution of the United States itself were all written on cannabis " hemp" paper therefore pre-20th century. I am as he (and they) are a product of the gleaned information that is often hidden and hard to pin down (not counting the personal interpretation of said data).
Overall the discussion is one that is needed and I am pleased to hear young people who will one day help lead the Nation interact with other young people on this subject. I think that as time passes and these young students learn more from valid reports and inputs they will gain a broader base of knowledge on which to formulate a more credible position in this field of study.

Einstein says that everything is energy. Let's start with that. As far as this medicine goes, The Healing Begins With The GROWER. The person farming this medicine absolutely must have good energy when caring for these plants, that energy is absorbed into the plant through its consciousness. Many of you naysayers have absolutely no time or effort put into studying this, and should sit back and observe energy in heavy study. As it has been proven with house plants and children and school science projects, the better you treat your plants the better medicine you will have. I promise. Tell Mom I Stay High.

If you're looking for a way to connect with nature and experience a deeper sense of spirituality, marijuana can be a great option. But we should also be responsible for our actions and dosage. We must not go over our tolerance.

    Legalise cannabis in the UK.

It should totally be legalized for adults worldwide. And I say this as someone who does not smoke anymore because I abused the shit out of it and ended up being totally negatively affected by it. My fault. But it is addictive and not totally harmless.

People that doubt schizophrenia and psychosis taking place on a large scale in marijuana smoking populations need to go to the Caribbean where it is rampant among especially teenage smokers.

Just because a respected scientist said it, doesn't make it accurate. There are studies on it and patients now have to sign that waiver along with the other danger notifications when renewing medical cannabis certification. There are studies you can read yourself.

As far as what school he went to or which schools he might have gone to, there's probably a record on that that you can look up to verify whether he went to multiple schools or simply made to speak-o. Harvard and got his masters at Yale medical or vice versa...I
If you have some real reason to describe it somebody then offer that real evidence but just going after somebody because some little glitch while they are speaking Will guaranteed you frustration with every single doctor We're scientific speech that you observe.
I suggest you not get in the field of law or you will be endlessly arguing with the court itself over misqoutes, typos, speakos & what you perceive to be loop holes.

@@JstGdNews teenage years are where these schizophrenic symptoms first tend to appear.
That again would be correlative evidence. A genetic aspect could be the cause a tighter population would see a relative spike as well. a smaller subset that would be more likely to have significant amounts of the same genetic markers.
