Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2005, started medical cannabis in 2010 and have been symptom free since. I grow my own all natural, organic, probiotic grown cannabis. I eat it, I vape it, I apply it topically. I get it into me anyway I can. It has also saved me from a sever opiate addiction. Cannabis saved my life.
Just wish the gov would free the incarcerated that manufactured cannabis not for profit but to help the afflicted with their pain and pray for the souls who took their own lives because they weren’t allowed to use cannabis to alleviate or cure their affliction

@@CrisusAttucks Are you suggesting that cannabis was the cause for her schizophrenia? And what do you mean discharge her off service of what? Wasn't Tysabri taken off the market by the manufacturer in 2019, due to reports of a rare but serious brain infection Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML)? Could that have something to do with the onset of schizophrenia? I'm always a little skeptical of people who sub to FOX, OAN, Newsmax and The Rubin Report. I never smoked marijuana or had any form of it in my adult life and at age 55 , my Mother died of cancer in 2013 . Marijuana was the only herbal medicine that helped me through many difficult days. I used it at bedtime to help me relax and I worked full time as a nurse in the daytime with no side effects. I was calm at home and able to grieve without making me sick or crying constantly.
I am a medical cannabis exemptee. I smoked two joints of high THC (26%) and low CBD (0.3%) cannabis. I smoked them back to back prior to a treadmill heart exam. I had zero issues show up. They said I had "the heart of a teen-aged athlete". Cannabis is my only prescription and I am senior citizen. I am delighted with my health.

I stopped smoking cannabis over ten years ago. Wanting to be a positive role model in my children’s lives. I’m a disabled veteran and was dealing with the VA and their pharmaceutical medicines. Over a six month period I dropped a 65lbs and not by trying. Being rushed to the hospital three different times because I’d collapse due to lack of nutrition and being so badly dehydrated. Every test you could think of for a man in his 50’s. They found nothing. Actually my heart, blood pressure and bloodwork are immaculate. When I was not smoking cannabis I had high blood pressure. Found it extremely difficult to lose weight. I was always told my blood pressure was so bad I was looking at a stroke or heart attack. I think I’ll just stick to the natural plant. The past 30 years the medical field has really lost my respect
I stopped all pharma products cold turkey and use Marijuana religiously. It's natural, safe and actually works while not destroying my gut and other organs. Not to mention my brain.
I’m 51 and smoking weed since I was 14. After my first hit, I felt incredible. Never had paranoia. When my mom caught me in my teens, I told her it’ll be legal someday. Here we are!
Be glad you don't get the paranoia. My first 5 or 6 times were amazing...just phenomenal with absolutely no paranoia. I had never heard of weed causing paranoia at that time. But then unexpectedly after smoking a joint I thought I was having a heart attack and had all the typical paranoia reactions that everyone has heard of...and that was just some Mexican brick weed back in 2001. Ever since then I get a different high from weed. Unless I am smoking a ton of weed all the time where my tolerance is high, I've always had an unusually low tolerance for weed since then as well. Even if I take an extremely small single hit, and blow it out immediately, I will still get full fledged paranoia at times.
@@daciefusjones8128 Indica, Sativa or hybrid...it all gives me the same paranoia reactions. I think it has to do with your individual body chemistry and personality and mindset as well.
@Noah Wolf I believe I probably have something like ADHD or autism, but definitely not the hyperactive kind. I've always had attention problems since a young child and I still have them to this day, and it continues to negatively effect my life at age 36. I have a hard time adapting to new situations where I am forced to make things work in a new situation, I always forget something critical. I also have always had problems getting things backwards or mixed up with verbal instructions, if it's not fairly simple. In school I absolutely struggled with Math but I was decent at most other things not related to Math. All that said, I don't know if I want to get properly diagnosed or try medication. I went through a brief phase in my younger life where I was doing crystal meth here and there (I know, very stupid) and I had a *_really_* bad reaction to it in one particular instance where I thought I was having a stroke/heart attack, felt like I was about to die any second. When I came out of it, felt like it caused some brain damage as well, but the hazy/cloudy brain fog I had for about a year afterward has thankfully passed. After that I can barely drink coffee or use any form of caffeine without getting a weird reaction to it that I never used to get. I don't even want to think about what other stimulant drugs would do. But weed has always given me paranoid reactions long before I was doing meth, and afterward nothing changed at all.

One of my lifelong friends--who smoked weed daily for over 50 years, suddenly died from a heart attack last month--age 75....did the weed intake hasten his death?...it clearly did not help...so live and learn, I guess. Like many in my generation, I briefly used weed, but only in a social situation, not daily. And I stopped doing that after a couple of years. I have developed heart problems anyway, so no one can say if using that stuff is good or not. But I am glad I decided early on, to abstain, given my situation now.

Outstanding presentation. I worry that, with the decline in the quality of our schools and lack of science teaching, people are not going to be persuaded by facts. The coverage of grapefruit's effect on medication build-up is gold. Every medical and pharm student should be required to view this presentation.
We all learn about Grapefruit and CYP450 action in 2nd year of Med school. It’s on every step 1 exam(of 3), as well as medical boards exam. It’s a basic pharmacology concept and we learn many others as well. We aren’t as dumb as the internet tries to portray us 😂
Because I'm trying to escape anxiety - I don't tend to panic myself with prescription medication small print. I trust it to either be obvious or for the warning to be explicit. Nobody told me about grapefruit (which, JustMe, I think actually blocks the liver's ability to convert excess drug into something that can be excreted... I think, this means, grapefruit means there's much more of the active compound in our blood stream) and I found out the hard way. Now, I avoid anything acidic around the time of my medication (SSRI and hypertension). Even a tomato seems to bring the meds back up (in the most dramatic fashion possible). I was not aware, however, that cannabis behaves like grapefruit. I have a lot to think about.
@@TraceurDoc1 Thank you for that clarification. (I have never believed Med students are dumb. Ever!) I should have said "every pharmacy executive" should be required to see this presentation, because Walmart has never put the grapefruit warning on a med I take. The way I found out is that Walgreens DID put the warning on. I had suffered side effects when I unknowingly went on a grapefruit binge. I mentioned this to a Walmart pharmacist and even sent a note to their corporate office--to no avail. They never did mark the medication, at least, not the one I take.

Yes and what's sad is that there are countless plants like this (not to smoke lol) that are being suppressed bc they could upend the entire pharmaceutical industry and also greatly affect the healthcare and weight loss industries, some of the largest industries in our country
@Mathias you are actually wrong. It does not CAUSE those episodes. I know me and my brother deal with this as we smoke every day. It is an exasserbant meaning it just exaggerates what already is. So if you are already super anxious you could smoke and then make it 10× worse but you can also use it to supress the anxiety. It's mental and that part always gets left out. That's the problem with medicine today is that it's always looked at thru a very narrow scope when there are countless things that effect everything and that never gets taken into account

You are comforted, but you really know that if you were fitter and maybe a few years younger, there would be things that would really rather be doing that would really make you happy, things you used to do? But we just settle for comfort. This is the same as security and freedom. We give up our freedoms to make us feel more safer comfortable. But if only we truly knew the Happiness life could bring if we were to lose the fear of losing those things that make us feel safer more secure more comfortable? The only thing that stands between the two is "Regret". Live life how you desire NOT how others desire of you.

Excellent and informative video. I'd love to see it's reach exceed 2.5M views because the specific medications he mentioned that have adverse or build-up effect in the body when mixed with CBDs are extremely common. We're all familiar with the warnings about eating/drinking too much grapefruit but many doctors don't even know to warn against the mixing of CBDs and certain prescription medications. It's also invaluable to know that marijuana has been "Frankensteined" into a substance dangerously more potent.

I've been struggling with cptsd, among other things, one day recently, I took an edible, and I was able to see "outside" of myself and the harm drinking was doing. Since then, the euphoric joy that begins with the first drink, is gone. I'm drinking 1\3 less than I have in decades, and I'm glad.
Good deal! CPTSD here too and it helped me quit drinking completely (and to quit smoking years before). I started meditating much more regularly... at least daily). Takes care of my insomnia (just do indica almost exclusively in the evening). It didn't get rid of the cptsd, but it certainly helps to manage it.
God bless you! Had to comment re the CPTSD and drinking. I have CPTSD although they just called it PTSD when I was diagnosed. I have not had a drink in 20 years. The weed replaced that long before medical was legal. It actually saved me, I was starting to show liver damage from drinking. They said if I quit it would lessen or even go away completely. My liver functions are normal and there is no sign of cirrhosis. Keep at it, you can do it!!!
You should look into MDMA and psychedelics. Lots research being done and data is looking very promising. Some people showing long term disappearance of PTSD symptoms after a few sessions as opposed to chronic use of weed.

Hey CRAC. I STARTED SMOKING pot in Vietnam, 1968, never stopped smokin' and driving big rigs Professionally for 40 years. Got caught up in a random "P in a cup" in 2016. And that was the first time I ever got terminated from any of my full time trucking jobs. I went on to drive until 2018- then was forced to retire because I failed a newly DOT mandated "whisper" test on my every two year physical. I'm 74, I take no prescribed drugs, have no physical issues. I MANAGED to survive the roads to hell and back with about 3.75 million accident free miles. I really think because I always smoked cigarettes and reefer, as a double trouble smoker, I early on worried about my lungs. Wierdest thing is my lungs always stayed clear. I finally figured out that the marijuana, is a very good expectorant and it was the* cough* that expelled the cigarette gunk. Also with the marijuana smoke I always took a deep hit..pulled the smoke down into my big toes!! HOLD IT...... ok, exhale..great lung exercise. Funny that you know a lot about what you're talking about ,but my history of my first twenty years of doing my own personal research is written in my bio. Wrote in 1988 &'89.,its titled Marijuana; one mans mystique ,another mans truth. Author is Maxon Roads, and the book is in all online bookstores/Amazon, etc.
i have to agree, weed when inhaled with an overly powered toke can cause coughing, thus one may experience a (clearing) of the lungs on a frequent basis, so i feel as though smoking may actually be good for your lungs as mine are 63 and near perfect as well ? i have never even seen any lung problem signs.
Great that you've shared your truth/story in a book that will help others! God bless you for your service driving truck all those years - glad you are still with us brother!!!
I smoked weed for 20 years. Stopped cold turkey 3 months ago. It was ruining my life, physically, professionally and mentally. My lungs, and heart, are thanking me.

Had a surgery with a very long and painful recovery a few years ago. Doctors prescribed hydromorphone, and promptly scared me out of using it with a lecture about how it kills people. OTC painkillers did nothing for me. I tried a dose of hydromorphone. Nothing. I could try taking more, but after the scare talk, I ruled that out. In desperation I tried vaping cannabis, and it probably saved my life. It got me through the worst of the pain and associated misery, allowed me to sleep, and the only side effects were a fresh appreciation of music and humor, and an occasional craving for sour cream and bacon chips. Over two years later and still not fully recovered, but cannabis is still a daily part of my life, mostly right before bed. I sleep better than I ever have, and my heart and lungs ace every test my doctor puts me through.
I used to grind my teeth while I slept until I started vaping before going to bed. Now I haven't broken a tooth in years and I wake up in the morning with no tension headaches most days.
Excellent presentation. Making health personel aware of our necesity to educate on marihuana 101... The 'today' practice makes it an obligation. Thanks for the lecture.

This is an excellent presentation and in considering use of CBD I have discovered through the information in this video that it could very well cause problems with my current medications. I'm grateful for this information.
@Ms Bliss Problem is, some of the pharma actually works for what it's for. Best thing is to do the homework and find out what some doctor might be putting you on... like statins when you don't actually have high cholesterol. You always have to assume responsibility for your own health care, it's your ass on the line so why wouldn't you?

Fantastic and brave session. We've advanced since the date that this exposé was put out and CBD has changed thousands of peoples' lives. Charlotte's web is one phenomenon and what it has done for children. Unfortunately, legislators have pharmaceutical company interests in lieu of public interests. Congratulations for the session.
To me as RN, this is for the layperson as well as medical professionals. Interesting correlation with heart issues. Check with, if not prescribed, with your MD
@@aircavmedic I have been involved with the Health field for over 30 years. It is very irresponsible to go against your doctor's recommendations and I have always recommended that the patient ask their doctor for a prescription which happens in 1 out of 4 cases and results have been just short of miraculous in every case. Unfortunately, those cases don't have a voice and Doctor's don't talk about them so as to not upset their faculty. And of course we understand big Pharma's role and that of politicians in all of this.

So, natural medicine and modern medicine doesn't play nice with each other. Thank you Dr. Oh for an excellent presentation that will undoubtedly save lives.
I totally understand this but they need to also to do a video on how the effects of medications negatively harm people as well as well as causing addictions.
Please note that all the cautions you are listing for cannabis apply equally to all pharmceuticals as well. They work for some and not for others, they need to be individually titrated (and often are not), and they have interactions with other drugs or foods, and can have detrimental side effects .
How many millions of people smoke Cannabis responsibly and do not get heart issues? How many millions of people have smoked Cannabis responsibly since time began and did not get heart problems ? How many people in this study were unfit, had a poor diet and were Vit D, Magnesium, Potassium and Zinc deficient?
Yes - this lecture was alarmist. If you have heart disease, do not consume cannabis in any manner. If not, the risk is very low. In this lecture Dr. Oh starts by showing single case reports, one after the other, without relevance to the general population, then goes on later and quickly and parenthetically states that for most people there is little risk. But he had already scared the daylights out of his audience. That was seemingly the purpose. Also - There is little to no clinical data on CBD interactions with liver enzymes and commonly prescribed medications - alarmism without data. The historic track record on cannabis has been rife with misleading statements and outright lies by institutional authorities, which led more than one generation to ignore professional advice, and believe that lies were told about other drugs. It is important to get it right.

I had a kidney transplant in 2015. The immune suppressant drugs, pro-graph and cellcept caused major sleep problems. Someone convinced me to try cannabis. I break up the buds on a cookie sheet, place in preheated 225 deg. oven for 10 minutes or so. I remove the cookie sheet cool, then grind in a spice grinder. I place a measured 1/4 level teaspoon or less on a tablespoon with peanut butter and eat it. In about an hour the first effects occur, then in two to three hours the full effect comes on. If I’m moving around it’s one thing, if I’m sitting or laying it’s much more powerful. I do this every night for sleep and it is highly effective. I wake up feeling rested and good. It definitely increase blood pressure but in the morning when I check my BP, it is typically 120 ish over 68 or 70. I just turned 70 on this Christmas Day. Here is where it gets interesting, I have regular comprehensive blood work and my blood work is excellent as evaluated by my Nephrologist. So from there I don’t know but I have no chest pains or unusual heart rhythm. I do not smoke it and use it as described, only about an hour before I go to bed.
Great video. This is why we need so much more research into cannabis. The applications are so wide ranging, it's just a very complex plant. Totally agree with stressing the whole "know what you're getting". Some people can only do indicas without negative side effects, some people can only do sativas. Some people tolerate THC well, some people don't. It's like any other drug. Even if a drug is safe for 99% of people, that 1% of people still need to avoid it.
OR IF a drug is safe for 0.0001% of people and 99% need to avoid it, then maybe you don't need to legalize it just like we don't legalize morphine for general use.
Had to use mild opiates for pain after surgery or accidents - stuff puts me into a trance for about 24 hours, but my sister swallows them like candy for chronic pain and it doesn’t bother her. My preferred drugs are water, chocolate and caffeine…

Interesting. As a Vietnam vet (drafted), I have PTSD. I got my Medical Marijuana Card here in Florida. Can you recommend something for depression and anxiety. I've never smoked so maybe I should try an edible.
What I can tell people from years of cannabis use myself is that it 100% causes rapid heart rate a lot of times and just because of that effect it can spark a major panic attack and it’s also a unique stimulant that differs than Amphetamines or caffeine etc which increases that mental stimulation and sparks a huge flow of thoughts and ideas which can lead to paranoia alongside anxiety with or without mental hallucinations not so much if at all visual hallucinations. It causes you to feel that time slows way down and music sounds extremely intense and your mind starts to see things in a different “light” so to speak. I have personally done legitimate psychedelics in the past and none of which ever gave me a “Bad trip” except for cannabis which is the only one ever to give me extremely horrible trips that were very uncomfortable. But that’s just me personally as far as a “bad trip” goes. The positives are euphoria and great focus on whatever you like doing along with appetite stimulation and relaxation/sleep for insomniacs. Relieves stress and makes you more talkative and causes laughter releasing dopamine and helps depression as well. It really does boil down to terpenes on how it affects your body chemistry 100% which I have proven for myself indefinitely.
@@sherrybirchall8677 I actually just read some stuff about cannabis binding to the 5ht1a receptor in the same fashion as lsd but overall effects will vary lol mescaline aka San Pedro or peyote is supposed to be the best of em all.
Terpene chemistry is quite varied, can be subtle but also quite overt.. I've only experienced anxiety from a few strains, when no other variety was available.. didn't realize til years later in reoccurrence with similar strains, i stay away from diesel strains now
This doctor is FANTASTIC !!! I JUST LEARNED SO MUCH and loved his personality. ❤ I have been exposed to Mariwana smokers since the early 70's ( I was born in 1963 ) and my brothers had a booming business growing it in our mothers garden. Police came often to get their share. I have never had any leisure time to actually sit down to relax so never had the opportunity to explore its effects. In 2012, I did smoke a few hits and became SO PARANOID AND DEPRESSED ABOUT EVERYTHING and mind you I was building my dream home and making 15 grand per month. I was suicidal and scared and was having palpitations and terrible chest pains and felt like I was having a myocardial infarction. Now I understand WHY I almost died. I will just stick to ice cream to relax. 😊
"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food" Hippocrates quote one of my favorites, we should all be responsible for ourselves and have that right to take charge of our own lives!
As a clinical pharmacologist with PTSD, I applaud this presentation. Honestly I have found that some strains can actually precipitate panic attacks rather than prevent them. Also I think the dearth of information on potential drug-drug interactions is particularly concerning, considering the high variability of the compounds between different strains and extraction methods.
Yah they screw us at Dispos to, we cant count on having terpene profiles we want, they dont list them and they grow so inconsistent and poorly they have to throw away hundreds of pounds. I want the legal right to grow my own based on my needs and not be playing roulette with new strains. The medical program runs like rec in disguise, meanwhile state just hounders growers over strain names and does nothing to meet actual medical needs.
I think people also need to realize it’s something you need to dose carefully. Just like taking 3 grams of mushrooms will make most people feel uneasy. But taking. A small only barely noticeable dose. They can get alot of benefit
Only reason it will do that is because "you gotta crawl before you walk" everyone who smokes remembers that first high...and panic only because you know you doing wrong and against the law!! Nothing to be concerned about....worry bout big pharma killing everyone!!
Cannabis became cardio toxic for me. Dr. said when symptoms started get to the hospital. If IV drugs didn't convert my heart rhythm I could be shocked. Took a couple close calls before I quit using cannabis. It will be my go to when my time's up.

WHAT KIND OF CANNABIS HELPED YOU LOSE WEIGHT? GUMMIES, LEAF, TINCTURE?

@@yearginclarke that's why I only smoke Indica. I have smoked weed for 56 years and I am 70 years old.
I found this guys “knowledge” lacking terrible ,I was injured in a big truck accident with severe whiplash . For 15 years I listened to my doctors ….took the morphine as prescribed ,did 5 different surgeries when they told me to . I was almost dead when Ohio allowed Medical Marijuana for certain diagnoses .

We aren’t as dumb as the internet tries to portray us 😂
Facts are offensive.
Grapefruit. I didn't know they could inhibit medication. (Maybe that's offensive, too.)
Grapefruit is discouraged by Dr. It will react with my medications. (Sad emoji)

Dilaudid is pretty nice though.

So, natural medicine and modern medicine doesn't play nice with each other. Thank you Dr. Oh for an excellent presentation that will undoubtedly save lives.
This could be entered into a record book as the largest jump to a conclusion that’s ever been made.
Probably none, they probably just smoke a way better strain, or a specific medical strain that isn't for them.

I've experienced some dispensary strains that actually felt more toxic than therapeutic...hate it when that happens
OR IF a drug is safe for 0.0001% of people and 99% need to avoid it, then maybe you don't need to legalize it just like we don't legalize morphine for general use.

I had the same negative experiences with pot. Meanwhile, the acid trips (2, in total) were beautiful, and I remember them to this day.

My friend, all you learned from this so called professional is BULLSHIT
Sounds like they are smoking the fake pot!!!!
Only reason it will do that is because "you gotta crawl before you walk" everyone who smokes remembers that first high...and panic only because you know you doing wrong and against the law!! Nothing to be concerned about....worry bout big pharma killing everyone!!
