I remember having a Dracula comic book that had the first appearance of Blade. It was cool. I have no idea what happened to it since my husband liked throwing away anything he didnt care about. He got rid of my entire collection of Double Ace paperbacks of which some had some of the first publication of stories by authors that went on to become popular writers. He threw away an old crazy quilt covered in embroidery and beadwork and signed by the ladies who made it. It was registered with the McKissick museum and had a tag the museum had put on it. Velvet, brocade, satin and some silk. It was gorgeous. He is my ex husband now.

Heard you say so many times ‘they are out there’. Friday found a box of old postcards, well over a 1,000 for $8 (less than a penny a piece). All unused, all Italian scene printed in Italian. Lots of research to do, and a few appear quite old. The first batch researched produced multiple dups totally 234 copies over 12 scenes. Posted only 1 on Saturday and sold overseas within 5 hours making back purchase price plus. They will take forever to sell, but when they do each is pure profit. Not sure I would have bought these if I hadn’t been watching your channel. Thank You.

Luck plays a large part in this. I once bought a small green dog plush for 35¢ just because it had a pinback button of the Ted Williams Hitters Museum on it. Turns out the pin was worth $5. The dog, however, was called "puppy" by artist Jeff Koons who did a 40' topiary in Spain of the puppy in 1992. The plush was sold along with the unveiling of that art museum exhibit. It sold for $165!!

One guy has found several cannons not to mention sooo many other things. The man is a billionaire now. With so many civil war items around here I really need to study that niche!!!!

I constantly educate myself on vintage items and despite having grown up around a lot of antique items being collected by family members etc. It does help to educate yourself and study the market values of what things are going for. I was going to at least 3 estate sales a week finding tons of items which were overlooked that were of value. Pay attention to what people pass up. There are good items all around you. Great video!!!

    • @myketoside

Check to see if you received Ebay's "Disregard our media mail email". We got the same thing, saying that we have items for sale that have media mail on the listing and that Ebay no longer supports those items being shipping Media, but then they sent an email apologizing and saying to disregard.

I have "tons" of old postcards and don't know how, or where, to sell them. I know they can be valuable and you say you sell them all day, every day but Im in Salem Or and no one wants to pay anything around here! Im no stranger to the market and selling vintage but not so much with these. When you don't have the money to put into selling things, what is the easiest and best, profitable way to sell them, old stamps too, and old china cups and saucers? Old as in back to early 1900s! Thank you for your channel and content by the way :) I do learn a lot and appreciate you!

When I was a kid I went to a comic book convention like in 1976. I win tuu I osvtaffel and got this big black and metal silver poster that said coming soon Star Wars before tye movie came out. I didn’t know what Star Wats was so it had no meaning bit those poster missive vodted like $25. each and only a few were made. Anyway, I went to a comic book dealer and showed him and he offered me $50. and I took it. Till this day, with all the Star Wars collecting and interest, Ive never seen that poster again. I’ve always wanted to ask George Lucas about that poster and wonder what it’s worth now.

I have hundreds of daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, tintypes, and CDV’s. I’ve been collecting them for 10 years now. If I were to ever sell, this is definitely useful information to know. Thanks! I also have about 40 of the leather bound photo albums made for the CDV’s and tin types. They all have porcelain corner buttons and they are gorgeous. I would imagine these are hard to find as well.

just happened across this video. I use to sell stuff once in awhile but I’m more of a collector bc I was fortunate to do well in corporate sales early on in life Ive acquired a huge indoor climate controlled storage unit and a basement filled with nothing but incredible vintage pieces I started out with clothing 20 yrs ago and shortly after added collectibles. I now have literally tons of rare pieces, nos, aop, single stitch, nos, one off extremely rare items, vintage clothing mostly 50’s through late 90’s Nike,Starter,Pendleton,Levis,Dior,YSL,concert tees, incredible vintage sports SnapBack and trucker hat collection vintage movie posters and all the promo material and press kits that were given only to theater owners, lots of vintage watches, jewelry, sports cards, autographs, memorabilia, military items, very rare aviaton items, art, some mid century furniture pictures, paintings, toys ie Star Wars,GI Joe 60’s w accessories, video game consoles and games NES,SNES,N64,Atari,Sega,big collection of 1st edition sci fi paperback books from the 50’s and 60’s,some cool signs, glassware, ephemera, industrial lights, literally anything that caught my eye that I thought was neat, rare, or valuable. There’s no filler it’s all extremely hard to find stuff that took decades to acquire. There’s a lot more stuff it’s just hard to mention everything. Im looking to move back out to Las Vegas (I came back to Alabama during the pandemic to help with a close family member that has now died) If someone can get to Alabama I may be willing to sell it all and cash out. It’s never been picked through or even seen by anyone for that matter. If someone can come this week or next I can send pics of different items. I’m going to the Orange Bowl Dec. 29th and probably the national championship Jan. 8th so if I am gonna sell it would have to be prior to then. Sorry for such a long comment.

Hi I have learned a lot from your videos, thanks!
I have a question, I have 18 Susan B Anthony D dollars. When I researched them, they range from $5 to $500. The one up for sale for $500 is not uncirculated and looks just like the ones for $5 in all aspects. Same with the ones in between. Some have sold for thousands, I realize some are silver but still circulated coins and ungraded or sold for under $5. Also some say wide rim. Do you know what the measurement is of the rim? Do you know what determines the value? Thanks for you time, as I know it is valuable!

I’d love to get some good money for my vintage sheet music, but I’ve never seen very good SOLD prices for them…that is except the very famous stuff or for big lots or rare niche items. I tend to think you could sell “ice to Eskimos”…just kidding….it’s experience, reputation, right time and right place. Thanks for all your helpful info 👍

I have a reel 1 “meatballs” from tri-star sitting here forever that I bought from an auction. No clue the value or how to sell it. I also have the “Flying Nun” board game. I’ll have to check out what I have and see. Thanks for the video!

I have a giant poster probably 4 ft ×6ft that hung in Kmart in fort Smith Arkansas that advertises the Star wars trilogy release. I also have the aisle hanger that hung in the aisle at Kmart it has the same image the poster has. Do you think it's worth anything? This Kmart went out of business a long time ago. I believe the poster has pictures of Darth Vader cp3o R2D2 and Yoda on it.

Growing up in the 70s and 80s a friend had the whole Star wars collector dolls unopened. His dad purchase them and send them to him. As he hated his father, he didn't touch them. When he was in early 20, drunk one night, pull out and pour petrol on them one by one setting them a light and chucking them off his balcony, I bet he kicking himself now. I worked with the old guy in the early 90s and he was a caretaker for festival Hall in Brisbane Australia. He told me how you got trick by young guy to give all his posters to him for free. He had a poster for every single show what came to festival, until it closed down. After given them away, he found out some were worth good money, I just wonder, price if them today.

Just a simple question Don. How old does something have to be from New to be classed as vintage, as I thought that vintage would be from the '60s 70's or older? Just asking as I saw an ad on eBay that said vintage item, and it wasn't even 10 years old from new, so how can that be classed as vintage Don. Thanks, Don as I was from them Punk Rock days of the '70s. Excellent video. Charles in the UK

Etsy classes vintage as 21 years old or older. Antique is 100 years old.

I think an item must be 20 years old to be considered vintage. That doesn't seem too vintage to me, though.
