Got mine new in January, 1994. Will never let that gun go. Good shooter, accurate enuff for self defense ranges and the tri action will spoil ya for ever having to deal with that first long trigger pull again. I love mine.
yep - got mine back around the same time - will pass it on to my son when i die... it's not a bad shooter at all - maybe it's not the most accurate - or maybe that's just me.. =P
Got mine a round the same time. Great gun. I’ve put more than 5,000 rounds through it without a fail. I’ve traded other rifles and pistols over the years but just can’t part with my DP 51.
I have a Kimber Clackamas imported one. I have a thing for third gen smiths, and the compatibility with sw59 mags, combined with the weird triple action made it an easy yes for me. It’s a fun range toy. And one of the more weird wonder nines ever made.
I got one, it's bad ass. Trigger is awesome. No accuracy problems. I used to qualify with it for contract security jobs. There's 20 round mags out there too. Still have mine on my night stand loaded up with hydra shocks
I have this gun too. A triple action that I run 15 round mags in. It kicks a bit more than a standard 9mm. Mine is accurate with 6" groups at 15 yards. I would never sell it.
This gun is now known as Lionheart LH9 - its accuracy problem with DP batch has now been resolved (most of early version’s problem related to the military contract version - which was NOT supposed to be exported). Anyhoo, check out LH9 at the Military Arms Channel.
I got one, love it. The trigger is off the hook. 13, 15, 20 round mags. The trigger spring stays back even when you flip the hammer foward. It has no De cocker. Another maker still makes new models with that bad ass trigger. They did fix the barrel because mine shoots dead nuts.
It seems like the new Lionheart LH9 Series has solved all of the problems with the original DP 51, but still retains the advantage of the unique action. Might be worth checking out.
The DP51 looks little bit like the old style Smith & Wesson model 59 pistol. Lionheart firearms took over and little bit redesign the pistol into LH9 series of pistols and looks really good and still feature that tri-action/fast action.
Thanks. I'm a novice shooter and have been very discouraged with my accuracy. After being told that most accuracy problems are caused by the shooter and not the firearm, I lost interest in shooting altogether. The DP51 is the only firearm I own. Perhaps I'll make another attempt using a Glock or an M&P. Who will want to purchase my DP51 and how would I go about selling when I live in communist California?
Todd Eckel I also own a Daewoo DP 51. As to my experience, I find it accurate. As you mentioned, accuracy is caused by the shooter. I practice a lot on the DP 51. I also own a 1911 .45 cal pistol. I'm fine with these two guns.
I shoot my DP51 about every two weeks . It was purchased in the late 1980s. It is a sweet shooting pistol and I do not have any problems getting my groupings close together at distances at 25-30 yards. Personality, I disagree with this guy's assessment that the pistol is inaccurate at 25 yards or more.
There is a company that bought the rights to the design, they pimped it out and sell them today in different calibers research the name. Mine shoots fine. Qualified for 10 years on it for contract security. Accuracy is fine to qualify that long with it. It stays cocked no matter where the hammer is.

I still have mine and take it out from time to time. Love this gun.
The action also provided a way to avoid the appearance of a cocked pistol, which made some people nervous--a factor for image-conscious agencies.

someone gave me one that says Kimber Clackamas. It doesn't have a magazine, so I'm kind of researching it now

The LH series has been replaced by the Regulus model by Lionheart Industries.

Great job Mark. Do you have any videos on the Springfield XD Tactical .45 cal?

The company that first made this is now gone
S&T Motiv now produces this pistol
What’s the best ammo to use on this one? Own one myself.
Want one

@@Johnyrocket70 Lionheart Industries if I am correct.
S&w 39ish
It kinda reminds me of the old pistol series made by S&W. Too bad, they're discontinued.
it takes first gen sw 9mm mags even
Lionheart Regulus is the 3.0 of the k5. They still sell them I think.
unique 9mm kimchi gun
Beautiful aircraft. Usually I prefer embraer interior but they did a great job on this aircraft, really sets it apart from it's peers
someone gave me this gun without a magazine im currently researching it. Can't beat a free gun
Do you *think* that not being able to find a magazine may be why they gave you this gun for free?????
@@kenhoward3512 it uses S&W magazines
This gun name in k5
korea gun
Hk Lem trigger concept before the Hk Lem trigger?
Can the DP51 use 9mm NATO?
