I had the opportunity to drive the brand new Lexus RC 350, RC 350 F-Sport and the RC F on and off the track. Because of the limited amount of time I had with the car this video doesn't have my full battery of ratings and tests so stay tuned for that in the coming months.

The "Nike swoosh" doesn't look bad at all when the cars are driving with the LEDs on
I think the daytime-running lamps looks fine when they are lit.
We have gotten so used to forced induction that I don't think anyone realizes those numbers are breathtaking for a V8. Lexus has genius engineers, they made a reliable and efficient Italian drivetrain. Too bad Lexus doesn't have a philosophy that matches the performance potential of it's engineers. Even the LFA was held back.
Since Hyundai doesn't have a twin-turbo V6 I'm certain they will benchmark the RC line. I'm excited to see whether they can make the next Genesis Coupe at nine tenths the ability with $15K price undercut.

I love the RCF. I really like the N/A V8 and the styling. It really sticks out on the road. Might not be the best performance for the buy but it sure is unique and is worth giving up a few tenths in acceleration and track runs.

Gorgeous Vehicle a work of art like a Picasso painting.
RCF weight balance is 54/46 (LSD) and 53/47 (TVD) as opposed to 59/41 for the Audi RS5 so the weight FR balance is a lot better on the RCF.

I like the profile and back. Lexus has gone wild with the Predator face though. Dash needs to be better. Overall driving experience seems very good

Does navigation package automatically includes 17 speakers 830 watt Mark Levinson stereo system? How can I tell an RCF has the 830 watt ML system?
To me, the front end appearance hits the muscular, athletic performance image Lexus wanted. The location of the running lights is a minor feature, doesn't add to or detract from the car's esthetic appeal
I love the dtrm being separate and wish they kept it on the 2020. Unpopular opinion but I think it looks cool
the separation of DRL from headlight is kind of off also the shape/continuity form drl and headlmp give 2 diffrent direction which make it look really odd.
I love this car! This would be a great car to buy used in 5-6 years. I hope they have a nice blue color. Also, when you put the car into manual mode does it always go to a certain gear? My Tundra always defaults to 4th gear, I use the transmission to slow me down. It really saves your brakes. Do you think in 6 years I could find one in the 30's under 50k miles.

The car is perfect! Looks great. This is a work of performance art. Did you notice there is not a CVT transmission? This car has a real transmission.
Which car would I prefer? I would prefer this car. I've had 3 BMWs in the past. As good as BMW is, there is nothing that beats Toyota reliability and build quality. Yes, I like this car very much. I give it an A+ !
@alex what does the "snow mode" do in a rwd car? I have a 2011 Genesis rwd in canada and i have never driven rwd in canada in winter. I have michelin x ice tires but still worried
For the most part snow mode in any car causes the transmission to start in 2nd gear rather than first, dulls the throttle response and in some cars it will tell the traction control to limit wheel slip without reducing engine power as much to help you get moving.
Alex i know this is off topic but when you get your 0-60 times like on the 435i or genesis do you turn traction control off and enable sport modes?
Traction control is always enabled, sport mode if available is enabled.

If you think about it, this is pretty god MPG since bmw has a v6 and it's only 1 mpg better than the v8 engine on the rcf

I hope so, Honda hasn't said when it will be available to borrow however.

For some reason a few manufacturers frown on that and I can see why, it gives you a different perspective colored by the dealer in addition to there not really being a dealer that would let the press put 800 miles on a car and have it for a week.

1. where are the RC 350 videos? The narration says they are in the channel, but they are not there.
2. what is the scoop on the steerable rear wheels?
It should be up later tonight. I had to pick a video to finish first and this was it. The steering rear wheels work as well as any other 4-wheel steer system. It can feel slightly artificial but it does exactly what it says on the box: it cuts turning circles at low speeds and makes fast lane changes a little more stable at higher speeds.
Not able to watch the video as of now, but wanted to know where this video was taken. I saw one just like this in Luling, Louisiana and it drove away before I could get a picture. Just wondering if they had some press event at a track down here or something. Had California plates

Check out the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. Good performance with lots of space. Its expensive but nothing compared to the European stuff.
hahaha, I actually liked the reviews of the Grand Cherokee SRT. Both it, and the Macan, however, are out of my price range. Plus, with a baby in the car, you know the interior is going to get some good wear and tear.
I keep looking at the BMW 3 series GT, that would be on the high side of my price range, with minimal options - New baby = empty wallet ;-)
Another vehicle that caught my eye is the new Lexus NX. I've thought about the Ford Edge, Volvo V60, Nissan Murano, Honda CR-V, Toyota Venza....who knows what I'll pick....I may end up with another Prius 0.o!!
At this point, with kids, I'm leaning towards practicality over the fun-factor. The BMW 3-GT straddles both camps, however, it does cost and, frankly, I have to budget for the kid and the kids future - darn college tuition!
*If* I do find I can get the 3-GT, it would be the smaller engine with only a few options (safety).
hahaah - in that case, Golf R is *super* practical. Great mileage, spacious boot, 4doors, super safe with AWD and not too expensive.
I may end up settling for another Prius 0.o...waaaaAA OK, I'm not there yet.
Get a Lexus nx
I don't believe this car is equipped with the NuLux. It is not possible to spec the carbon fiber trim with the NuLux, only with the leather. Also the stitching pattern on the seats is different on the NuLux material.

Same in Switzerland. This car is more than 80'000$ on our market. But it's basically made at the same place. Yes, we have 8% VAT, but it's not the problem there.
And that centre control panel looks terrible!! And that screen ?!
While the profile looks alright, the front and rear ends are overdone with odd shapes and creases. And that awful spindle grille! It's as if Lexus is trying to outdo Rolls Royce or Bentley. As for those daytime lamps, what you call Nike swooshes, I call them Checkmarks, like misplaced mascara. Looks like it was a hoot to drive though. Still, the best looking Lexus coupe was the SC300/400. Perhaps the RC F will be adapted as the next Toyota Supra like the SC300/400?
These tri LEDs look very elegant to me, going black will definitely ease that predator grill into the whole look.
For some reason the RC 350 F sport looks better to me. Not sure why.

The rear looks to much like a Mazda 6 and those tail,lights are just ugly

I would rather buy a STI that is just a half a second slower and better on a track, get AWD, have more fun because of the off road factor, and spend $25k less...This car defi nitely looks good but I already have seen two videos that state this car is not that good on a track so basically, Lexus, makes a car this good looking, but doesn't make it better on a track then the GS350 is??? Get it's competitor, the M4, then you get the track car...this one is just to look good on the street....tacky.
Probaly, but the car just came out so your question about how many people do you know take their RC F to the track is senseless right now.
If you are buying STi this is definitely not for you. This car will smoke GS350 anyday on track, my main gripe is about its weight issue in handling.
This car is faster then the GS350, but it is not as good on the track as it looks like it should be. I'd take the BMW M4 over this car.
John Vu how do you know this is not better than gs350 on the track ? Sti is outdated. There is nothing new on Sti same stuff for over 10 years and very not comfortable. Not for daily driven. I don't think you will buy a car for a track only.
That is what my complaint about the STI is...it's the same engine and it keeps getting bigger but I wouldn't mind having one. I live in Colorado, it's better if you only have one car to have AWD, 4x4, or at least a front wheel drive car.
The huge spindle grille delivers the message, that this car sucks air like a Monster. In a smog-filled city - it spews out pollution to fill your lungs. Switch to Tesla folks ! - Before it is too late.

Sweet mother of god but that is one UGLY vehicle. I see Ford Fusion in the rear, and Gilete electric shaver in the front. That shot of the rear seat interior is the definition of overwrought. And then….for no good reason…the center stack and IP are beautiful tasteful clean designs. The door panel looks like an upgrade hodgepodge from autozone, with fake carbon fiber nonsense everywhere. And I'm not sure why the temp controls are touch sliders, but nothing else is. And whoever thought that tiny screen was a good idea ought to be smacked. And I'm pretty sure I would hate the trackpad. But overall, the cockpit looks like a 70s Pioneer receiver, and I mean that as a compliment.
Using the VVT to toggle the Atkinson cycle off and on is brilliant…..in an economy car. What the 'F (sport) is it doing here? And what's the point? A frickin' Charger with a Hemi gets 24, this gets 25. Pointless.
This car is just so damn weird. It's a performance car with eco aspirations. It's at least 3 totally different themes going on in the interior. It's a luxury car with race seats. It's a high tech car with an old school approach. It's got edgy styling but rounded manners. In a word, it's crazy. It's also much more expensive than cars that are nicer, but also much less expensive than other cars that are nicer. CRAZY! I think I like it, but I like it because it's crazy.
It just hit me! It shouldn't be called the RC F, it should be called the WTF!!! Good one, me.

You do know even M4 has eco mode right? People don't want to floor it all the time lol. The car looks quite good in person, going dark color will make that predator grill much easier to live with. Blue and black both look amazing on RCF.
Sounds to me like you just have a grudge against lexus
You realize the charger has selective cylinder management and shuts down half your motor to conserve gas and that screws up your throttle response. The Atkinson cycle is a much better system. You are just talking right out your ass aren't you?
