The 1993 Raiders played six cold-weather road games from Halloween onward - at Denver, at Chicago, at Cincinnati, at Buffalo twice and here at Green Bay. They went 3-3 in the six games and the only blowout loss was this game.
In high school, a buddy and I used to make small bets with each other on games. Usually, little things like lunch the next day. For this game, I suggested the winner gets $1 a point for the margin of victory. I picked the Raiders. This proved that I was bad at gambling and shouldn’t do it.
Reggie White was such a blessing of hope. I remember being excited that the GBP's were becoming a FORCE to be reckoned with. Good to see Daryl Thompson get a TOUCHDOWN. Rochester M.N. John Marshall Rocket.
They actually did make the playoffs in 1982/83 beating the Cardinals at Lambeau followed by a loss to the Cowboys. But that season was shortened by a strike.
You’d think the Raiders would have been more prepared for the cold on this day. They had already won in frigid Buffalo earlier that month, so it’s not like they had no experience in arctic weather. Then again, they lost to winless Cincinnati in similarly bad temperature......
I knew when my Raiders didn't have it in them. This was one of those games. Funny, their best chance to score was that opening kickoff by Rocket Ismail. Crazy to think that we haven't beaten Green Bay since the first time I ever saw these two teams play to open the 1987 season. That's it. We lost in 1990 even with Marcus and Bo. We lost here. We lost in 1999 in a great opening game at Lambeau in Rich Gannon's Raider debut. Lost the immortal 2003 game after Favre's dad died. Blown out in 2007 and 2011. And then lost a competitive game in 2015. It's gonna be 32 years by the time we play again in 2019. Hopefully being in Las Vegas changes something!!!
What made it so baffling was that these same Raiders had just won on the road in freezing Buffalo earlier that month. They had it in them in Buffalo when it was impossible to win on the road at Orchard Park. Of course, they had lost to Cincinnati in similarly cold weather.
We were flatout Robbed again in 99 in greenbay per usual always getting robbed!!!!! Loved the 20-0 shutout in 87 my boy n the best safety in NFL 26 van da man pic return fa td Marcus like 130 rushin, in 90 we had like 8 sacks but ta no avail, an now my silver n black cease ta be after what they've done!!!! What a waste!!!! OAKLAND!!!! RAIDERS!!!!! Faeva!!!!🇮🇹🦏🐼🦍🐬
I love hearing the radio broadcast with the TV. Watching and listening to the game brought back a lot of memories! ❤❤❤

Me too i was 11
Greatest day of my life what a Christmas present this was from my grandpa jack
The game where the Lambeau leap was first introduced.
Looks freezing brrrrrrrrrrrrrrt 👍👍👍👍👍
1:54 The First Lambeau Leap!
Damn. Even the old radio commercials. Awesome. Love it.
1:53:58 The Lambeau Leap was born.
Hell no your crazy! Max Magee and Jim Irwin are great and all time classic radio broadcasters as true Packer fans know! RIP to them both.

The best sports announcers Wisconsin has had
Leroy didn't get much of a Lambeau Leap for being the first.

Favre was not that good at this early part of career. He gets progressively better in 94 and the rest is history

I always thought Thompson’s skill set was a huge mismatch for the Packers, even before Holmgren arrived.
Max points out that the packers were the only nfl team to not be in the playoffs since 1973. We watched a lot of bad football

Don’t care about Russell Crow making an exorcist movie. It’s not believable.
1:53:57 and thus, a packers tradition was born

TRIVIA. See if you can find the original Lambeau Leap?
The great Jim Irwin
Probably the weirdest intro to a football game 😂

I'm not an expert, but Art Shell didn't seem like the best coach
They finished 10-6 and won a playoff game in 1993. On the other hand, even by this point, the game had passed Al Davis by.
Reggie stepped put of bounds on the pitch back to Butler
So?
My packers blew out the raiders wow lol
I really hate it when they post these games and the audio is from a radio broadcast of the game. keep the original audio if you post these, please???
So what's wrong with Jim and Max? One might say they were even better than Wayne and Larry.
I'd rather listen to Jim Irwin and Max McGee than most of the play by play guys of the 80's and 90's.
I mean it's better than nothing if they don't have the original audio
Give me Jim & Max every time!
the best Jim Irwin n Max Mcgee
