43 has been the easiest 9mm to carry in my life. Sure 6+1, but at least I have it on me. When I watch these other guys (garand thumb, Lucas, etc)…they all live where it’s generally colder and flannel is just fine most of the year. I can’t do that in FL. I tried a 19 down here, ain’t no fuggin way….

I’ve carried the sheild plus and G43x for years and I can wholeheartedly agree with this video. There are times where both of those guns are just too big and heavy to conceal. And I hate having to dress around the gun when I just want to be able to carry it wearing sweat shorts, and a T-shirt.
If you have a Glock 43X, then do yourself a favor and get a Glock 43 lower. It will serve as an excellent carry system.
Moral of the story, sometimes newer isn’t always better, and sometimes old tried, and true stuff is best.

People who advocate for the 9mm caliber for carry point to capacity being the main reason to carry 9mm... but you catch them out and what they're carrying is a G-43... 7 rounds... Hell, my Sig P-320C in .45 ACP holds 10 rounds, and that's my daily carry. I don't waste my time with micro-pistols, and I don't dress around the gun, but if you see me outside the house in sweat shorts or 'joggers', you have my permission to shoot me...

The 43 may be obsolete to some, but there some of us that have been carrying it for years and love the simplicity and ease of carrying this little pistol. Remember it is better to spend money on a pistol you will carry, than one that will stay in your night stand or drawer.

I’m still a big fan of the 43, in fact I greatly prefer it over a 43x.
In my mind if you want the extra size and capacity of the 43x there is just no reason not to go with a 48 instead, which is what I most often carry.
Theres just no downside to the longer slide and barrel.
Makes it softer shooting, easier to conceal, and more accurate (at least without an optic).
Not to mention the benefit of extra velocity.
But on those days I want something a little smaller, I think the 43 is a phenomenal little gun for the job.
And you can still get some decent capacity with aftermarket magazines or springs.

I have been carrying a 43 for about 5 years now. Also have a 43x that I sometimes carry, but usually I just put the 43x slide on my 43 and run that. (Tapered front end and front slide serrations). I have tried MANY different mag extensions on the 43. If you want super compact, go with the Taran Tactical +1. If you want to just get your pinky on, get the Pearce +1 (also lighter than the TT +1). Now what really shines for me is the TT +2. Amazing as it gives just the right amount of grip length that I want and adds some weight to the mag/bottom of gun to help balance it out. That mag with a TLR-6 light really makes the gun feel nicely balanced. As far as backup mag with more capacity I like the Fab Defense +4, looks really cool too. I did have a Shield Plus awhile ago, and yea, a few more rounds but I like the G43 more for many reasons. Versatility, feel, and aftermarket support being the main ones. Also, when you want to go really light the 43 with just a Pearce +1 does the trick, barely notice the gun at all.

Yes to everything. A G43 in a minimal holster is the most comfortable carrying solution ive ever tried. Still pretty shootable but absolutely disappears. Im actually mainly moving to the 2011 platform but still holding onto a 43 for how great a tiny gun setup it is.

Oh, also forgot to mention that using Talon Grips (3 different textures to choose from) is a good idea too as it adds a little more thickness to the very skinny grip. Glock makes a great OEM super lightweight plastic mag pouch that can be cut for many different belt sizes, works great. I changed no internals on mine, only added Ameriglo sights, TLR-6, Talon Grips and various mag extensions. Hyve extensions are cool but they are bulkier than the Taran Tactical ones. I have +2's of each, the TT is the winner for me.

Unfortunately, I bought a brand new Glock 43 and it has a serious trigger reset issue. The second time I shot it, the trigger failed to reset approximately 10 out of 100 rounds. I hate having to send it back to Glock so I'm letting a gunsmith look at it first. This is the first time I've ever had any problems with a Glock. 😕
    UPDATE >>>>>
After having my G43 completely disassembled, cleaned and reassembled the trigger reset issue was resolved. Everything has worked perfectly with FMJ. But, the last time I took it to the range and shot it with Sig 115 grain hollow points, it did nothing but jam. What a displeasure it was to fight this gun with that crappy and expensive ammo. 😕👎
    ANOTHER UPDATE >>>>>
The next time I took it to the range I shot Precision One brand 124 grain HP/XTP cartridges. I had terrible problems with the nose of the bullets running into the magazine which prevented them from angling up to the feed ramp and into the chamber. This only happened with the extended 7 and 8 round magazines. So I took the gun home, cleaned it and removed the extensions and put the stock base plates back on the magazines. This made every one of my magazines have only a 6 shot capacity. I took the gun back to the range and shot 90 rounds of the same ammo that jammed so terribly previously. The gun ran PERFECTLY!!! Problem solved! 😊👍
