    The "rat tail" of Obi Wan shows that he is a padawan learner, an apprentice, not a Jedi Knight yet. The final fight, sounding "Duel of the fates", it´s one of the best in the franchise for me. Legendary.

      What is funny about duel of the fates is that during that fight Darth Maul relied heavily on using form 6. Form 6 is called Niman. Some other names this form of lightsaber combat is known as are the moderation form or diplomat's form. Not exactly something you'd expect a Sith to use.

    The end of the fight between Qui Gon, Obi Wan and Darth Maul shows the difference between Sith and Jedi very well. When the laser partitions separated Qui Gon and Maul from each other, the Jedi began to meditate, calming down, and the Sith, on the contrary, walked in a rage like a tiger in a cage, filling himself with emotions. And when Obi Wan attacked Maul after the death of his master, you can see that he was filled with rage, which took him out of balance, since this is not the way of the Jedi and he does not know how to handle it, and Darth Maul, being a Sith who has been raised inside the order since childhood, who on the contrary feeds himself with emotions, easily he was defeated and thrown into the mine, and only when Obi Wan was able to calm down and return to balance, he was able to defeat Maul мне

    Jedi essentially function as monks. They can feel emotions like empathy, compassion, care in general for the good of all beings. They can’t have personal attachments, like familial or romantic love, envy or jealousy, pride, desire, anger, fear beyond immediate danger to life. If they feel those, if they have such attachments, it’s a gateway to giving in to the Dark Side, and the more selfish impulses, and therefore becoming corrupt and evil.

    Posting this to explain a big issue:
    This “midiclorian” scale was added to this movie to add to the mystery. As qui Gon said theyre microscopic organisms responsible for life forms being able to interact with the force. The thought process being more MCs = more connectivity to the force.
    Obi Wan said he had more than even Yoda AS A BOY! Qui Gon’s theory was that there was such a concentration of them that they produced life in Anakins mother like the Virgin Mary. This leads him to speculate that the boy may be a prophesied chosen one.
    The council is concerned because they sense potential for good AND bad things from him. If he’s good… awesome. But he’s older than most beginners and he has attachments and fear… all signs pointing to the dark side. It’s not a guarantee but it’s a VERY common symptom of those that go bad. So you got this super powerful kid in the hands of a maverick (Qui Gon) *THEN* after he’s killed you pass him off to HIS padawan *JUST* promoted to Jedi himself, Obi Wan. The council is a little justified in worrying.
    Devin you’re right about training him so he learns bad from good and doesn’t end up in bad hands but the Jedi are worried if they train him and show him their ways but he still goes bad that they would have practically handed a huge threat ALL their secrets

Because he is so strong but also already old enough to have attachments, its easier for him to be controlled by his emotions and break the jedi laws , thats why they claimed that he was to old , he already started to have attachments which is forbidden for the Jedi .

    7:20 At their peak (here, right before the rise of the Empire), the Jedi numbered approximately 10,000 total throughout the Galaxy. The Galaxy is said to consist of around 3.2 Billion inhabited planets. So that means there was roughly one Jedi for every 320,000 planets. But then keep in mind that most Jedi traveled in Master-Padawan pairs, and a good number of them were mostly on Coruscant, and realistically, there were more like one Jedi for every 700,000 planets or so.
    - Another note: In Legends (pre-Disney) continuity, it was explained that the Jedi Order had multiple "branches" beside the main one (which I'll call the "Knight Corps," where Jedi train in combat and carry a lightsaber). Basically, if a Jedi Youngling/Padawan was unable to make it to the rank of Jedi Knight after a certain age/number of attempts at the Jedi Trials, they would be re-assigned to the Jedi Order's Service Corps, where they would be placed into either the Agricultural Corps, Medical Corps, Educational Corps, or Exploration Corps. It is likely these other branches far outnumbered the main Knight Corps, though it was never really stated.
    9:25 Yes. And in hindsight, I have no idea how *anyone* didn't notice. It's the same actor, too.
    10:48 Nine, actually. Anakin was born 41 BBY (41 Years Before the Battle of Yavin, aka. Episode IV). This movie is set in 32 BBY, making Anakin nine. And the actor that played this young Anakin was 10-years-old at time of filming.
    24:50 Jedi are basically space wizards that serve as guardians of peace in the Galaxy, often combating the evil Sith (evil space wizards). But in the later Republic era, the Jedi became too political and were essentially militarized.

      I think they're overly criticized too. I liked this movie quite a lot. Didn't really enjoy E2, didn't even remember much of what happened in it when the E3 was coming out and had to rent the DVD before going to see the E3 in the theater. I also liked E3 but I think E1 was the best made movie out of the prequel series.

In Episode 4 you already found out how Anakin & Luke were related... further expanded upon in Episodes 5 & 6. You even stated it in the intro for this reaction

The Darkside is field by negative emotions like anger, fear, blood lust and selfishness and the more you call upon it, the easier and more tempting it is to use it.

    1. Of the prequels I like this one the best, mostly for the POD race and the underwater sequences,
    2. Jar Jar is mostly comic relief since we don't have C3PO
    3. Liam Neeson was very busy with various productions at the time and was in huge demand and agreed to do this episode because Qui-Gon Jinn dies, and he won't be held to do more.
    4. Divine conception?
    5. It's easy to know why this one didn't start the series because of the lack of CGI back in 1977.

    Okay, Devin... it's Prequel time. To start off, this takes place in 33 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin (read: Episode IV)). That's how Star Wars counts what year something happens. The Republic and the Jedi Order are both still the main authorities in existence throughout the galaxy, but not every planetary system is represented within the Republic. "The Outer Rim" territories are ruled more by criminal syndicates than the Galactic Senate. There are about 10,000 Jedi in the galaxy at this point, and at one time or another, they trained under Master Yoda (he enjoyed working with classes full of younglings (children)). At a certain point, younglings are tested, some will remain at the temple to be trained, others will be "assigned" to a Jedi Master as their Padawan learner. After a while, Padawans are tested again, to see if they have earned the rank of Jedi Knight. Finally, Jedi Knights are tested to achieve the rank of Jedi Master.
    Now... with that bit of "baseline knowledge", let's get on with the video.
    The two Jedi Knights sent to settle this trade dispute are Qui-Gon Jinn (the Master), and Obi-Wan Kenobi (the Padawan). Not sure if you caught that or not.
    7:20 - The main Jedi Temple is on Coruscant (the seat of government for the galaxy at this time), and they are dispatched where they are needed around the galaxy from there. Occasionally, Jedi will spend long periods of time on certain planets, but Naboo is generally a very peaceful planet, so "on duty" Jedi aren't needed.
    9:25 - Technically, that's a spoiler.... but yes. He is not Emperor, yet. You'll have to wait and see how he acquires that position. I'm only telling you, because it was common knowledge when these movies came out.
    10:45 - 9 years. Anakin is 9 years old here.
    15:35 - I saw every question that went through your mind cross your face in those few seconds. Those, I can't answer without spoilers. So, you'll just have to wait and see. But I will answer them once the full backstory has been revealed.
    16:28 - Watto was so angry about the die coming up blue, because it was "loaded" to come up red. He knew that Qui-Gon used The Force to cheat, but couldn't say anything without revealing that he was using a loaded die.
    26:05 - In the Republic, children are tested for their "Midichlorian Count". The higher the number, the more Force sensitive they are. Children above a certain level are often taken from their parents and brought to the Jedi Temple for training. Anakin wasn't born within the Republic, and was found at an age much older than those in the Republic. The reason for children being handed over to the Jedi Order at a very young age, is so that they don't form attachments yet. This is why the Jedi Council isn't entirely for Anakin being trained, he already has a very strong attachment to his mother. Most children brought into the Order are younger than 3 years old.

    • @DevinGtv901
      @DevinGtv901  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Those make so much sense. So with the children being taken so young don’t they still have attachments to there mother?

    • @IggyStardust1967
      @IggyStardust1967 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@DevinGtv901 I can safely say "no". I was removed from my mother at a very young age, and never really had an attachment to her. The last time I saw her in person, I was 4 years old and had absolutely no clue who she was. Children that young can hold memories, and you'd think there is a natural attachment, but that can fade after a while, especially when you're in a high intensity learning environment. I was placed with my father's mother, and had a very enriching life going forward. My father had died of an overdose when I was a little over a year old, and my mother was also an addict. She gave me up without a fight (being honest about it), so she could go pursue her own life without being bogged down by a baby that she really didn't care for in the first place.
      I won't go into it, here... but let's just say that she lacked nurturing instincts. She also gave up my two older siblings to parents to raise. They ended up having it way worse than I did. It's actually a wonder that my mother never did jail time for child neglect/abuse.

      @IggyStardust1967 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Ramblinrabbit24 I appreciate your comment, and I'm glad that you had a good life so far. My story is very complicated, but I don't mind talking about it now. In fact, I often do talk to younger people at social events (I go to gaming festivals a few times a year) so that they can realize that not only is their life not as bad as they think it is, but that it CAN get much better. I'm 57 years old now, I've lived more than twice the lifespan my father did, and my mother died back in the 90s when she was right about 50 years old. I was raised by my grandmother, who took me in (practically demanded custody of me) when she was in her late 40s. She hid many truths from me until I was a young adult, but she did it to protect me. My childhood was both wonderful and a nightmare at the same time. Not having parents, I got bullied a lot. However, I also had all the coolest toys of the era. I was 11 years old when I learned I had an older brother (on my father's side). He was "the good looking one" between us (not that I'm a hideous chud, or anything) so he was "the cool kid" in his area. Ironically enough, he was born 5 years and 1 week before I was. Our birthdays on the calendar are exactly 1 week apart. He was also in and out of trouble throughout his teen years. When I was 18, I got a phone call out of nowhere from someone claiming to be my sister. Imagine my shock when I learned it was true, and that I had an older sister and another brother on my mother's side. My grandmother flipped, because she thought my sister might take after our mother. Fortunately, she didn't.
      Oh, and here's a hilariously fun fact: My brother on my father's side, has the same first and last name as I do. We have different middle names, and he goes by his, whereas I go by John. Our father's first name was John, as was our grandfather's. This gets funny (after a few sentences), because my brother was arrested on his 26th birthday for murdering his girlfriend. He had been married to a really hot woman, but "being that wild child", he ended up running around on her, and getting addicted to cocaine. He was convicted (he claimed he was innocent, and no murder weapon was ever found) and because his public defender had turned down a plea deal, was sentenced to Life in Prison. Here's where it gets funny: I would go to visit him in prison. In there, they don't use his middle name, even though it's what he answers to. So, "John Linde" was coming to visit...... "John Linde". The guards would always do a double take, triple take, flip through the paperwork, check our ages, "Nope, can't be father and son..... they're only 5 years apart.... WTF?!" So, that was always amusing. Plus, I don't have a criminal record. Never been arrested in my life. My worst run ins with the law involve speeding tickets and being a witness to a crime.
      My sister and I have gotten very close. My grandmother did change her tune on my sister pretty quick, realizing that her assumptions were dead wrong. She died back in 2014 at the age of 93. We went full circle. She took care of me when I was most vulnerable, I returned the favor when she got old and was vulnerable. I cared for her right up until the day she died.
      Another thing about "growing up 'me'", is that, while I did have some friends, I was pretty much a social outcast. In my 20s, I did run with a "weird crowd", other outcasts, and while we did get into some shit, we were always gone before the police showed up and cameras weren't everywhere. Plus, the worst stuff we got into were fights that we didn't start. We just finished them, but no one was seriously injured in them.
      We would end up drifting apart, as happens. But Facebook reunited some of us.
      In my early 30s, I met the woman that would alter the path of my life. Her name was Rose, she was gorgeous, a little older than me, and separated from her husband. She took a liking to me, and made it a point to come into my work, planning on asking me out. Oddly enough, I beat her to the punch. I went over to assist her, as she looked like she was trying to decide on which alcohol to buy. She told me that she had tickets for her and her daughter to go to Germany, and wanted to celebrate. My family originally came from Germany, and I had great uncles that fought in WWII in Germany. So, I had a fascination with the place. Long story short, I asked if she wanted company and she said, "yes". We fell for each other pretty quickly. We would live together (with my grandmother), we would work together, we did everything together. In 2003, she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. She had surgery, did chemo, and I stayed with her, even though she had offered me "an out". I had told her, "I couldn't claim to love you as much as I do, but walk away when you need me the most." She went into remission, but within a year it came back. She started treatments again, and in 2005, made plans to go to Germany "one last time". This time, she took me with her. We spend 3 amazing weeks there. She got to show me where she was a child, we went to Oktoberfest repeatedly, and gave me memories I will never forget. In June of 2006, right after my first book was published, she was deemed "Terminally Ill", and placed on home hospice. We made arrangements to get married, but being on a short time limit, I had to work fast. Her previous husband was agreeable to just sign the paperwork and show up for the court date. They literally had nothing to split, so it was easy to take care of. I found a lawyer who was willing to hurry things along, and it was done. We were legally and officially married 2 days later. She would last another 11 days before taking her final breath, with me holding her hand.
      Before she had died, she had promised to send me someone, when the time was right, so that I wouldn't be lonely for the rest of my life. A little over 3 years later, I would reconnect with an old acquaintance from school. Turns out, she was the one Rose had sent for me. Katina and I would start a relationship, and we were married in September of 2011. We've been together ever since.
      It hasn't been easy, as my physical condition deteriorated to the point where I am disabled, but Katina has stuck with me, and even supported me while going through the process for Disability. We've been married for almost 13 years, and have never had a "fight". Disagreements, yes... but never a "screaming match", and certainly nothing physical.
      These are all things (and more) that I tell younger people. My wife married an over-age child, but she still loves me, either because of it, or in spite of it. It doesn't matter which. But I'm in a good place in my life, despite the struggles we have. I also managed to turn her disrespectful teenage son (when we got together) into a respectful man who has learned to appreciate those in his life. I tried to be the father figure to him that I never had. He has told me that he appreciates what I've done for him. I am very proud of the man he has become, and I'm also glad that I had a hand in making him that way.
      Sorry for the long post, but once I get on a roll, I tend to write a lot. Have a great day!
