The TikTok CEO did well. Congressmen were not there to find out the truth with meaningful impartial questions but to throw out their false accusations without evidence, with biases, hypocrisy, racism, and hostility. They didn't allow him time to answer the questions, and forced the CEO to give a yes/no answer to a multi-layers questions, then blamed company for the deaths of some young users, and then blamed him for not monitoring/controlling the harmful content at one point but then asked him to allow the content of Uighur genoxxde and Tiananmen Square massaxxre. These incompetent law makers are the reasons why the country is in a very bad shape.

what’s more? Tienanmen “massacre” was debunked by Wikileaks through leaked US government communications. And Uyghur “genocide” was entirely fabricated by US funded NGOs through NED (a CIA front). Basically, the real reason they want to ban Tik tok is that they want to control all media platforms for promoting US propaganda. They will not allow a platform where the Chinese can express their side of the story without getting constantly suppressed by “rules” like here on TH-cam.

While it may surprise you- some of us actually make our livelihoods approaching these divisive issues as academics, unfettered by the underlying politics and such. Similarly for the Chinese law on data extraction , I think they are for the same purpose, for local criminal prosecution just like any other countries else. As someone of Asian descent, I am deeply concerned about the growing tensions between China and the US, however tech issues are extremely difficult and layered with just a "Yes" or "No." I am quite frankly disgusted that no congressional member has been briefed about TikTok, or any tech company for that matter regarding how their programs work. If they really want to protect America from China, they need experts asking the real questions, not old people who barely know how to use a phone. To this day, I don't think Congress has asked a single question that answered a real security concern, and if they had, these CEO's dodged it and Congress didn't have the technical know-how to recognize it.
