Hi! Thanks for watching! To answer your question, I would suggest the Lenneth port on the ps4/ps5. Mainly because of its quality of life features. The main difference between the port and ps1 version is that the ps1 version has an anime opening and ending while the port has FMVs for its intro, ending, and throughout other scenes in the game. This game is perfection! I've played it so much when I was a teenager, never seen something like it. Did everything it had to offer, even got Angel Slayers for everyone. No internet back then though...

Great video. Just wanted to say thanks. I had this video open for my entire playthrough and followed it religiously to make sure I got the A ending. Kicking myself for how long I put off playing this game, hands down the most unique and addictive battle system I've ever seen in an RPG. Never would have guessed it had that kind of system. Add in the incredible story and somber tones and this is now one of my favorite game of all time. Looking forward to any vids you might do on VP2, I'm going to be starting it soon.

Man, I remember playing this game at least 3 times when I was in highschool. Afterwards, I never found a game of the sort that I like as much as this one. Also, I completely forgot how difficult it was 😅. The story is amazing, tho' and I've always kept in my heart the hope of it getting a remake... Maybe it won't be as good as the original, but it would be nice to see. I was also hoping for a Nintendo Switch release 😢
Sold. Added to the list. This video was the last push towards trying it. The mechanics seem so different I was hesitant on trying it, but with this I'm mostly good to go. All that's left is some trial and error.
This is great. I shelved this game not long after first trying it when it hit PS4 because it got confusing as to how to proceed at a certain point. Not sure why though, as I can't recall now what happened exactly. But! This video is exactly what I needed to go back and dig in properly. Thank you for putting this together. Great guide. Although im on Chapter 6 now and basically understand how the game works. I just cant stop praising this game! Insane mechanics and everything flows so beautifully. Ive tried Octopath before but this shorter story telling of each character in VP + being a shorter game makes it much more memorable. Every cutscene in this game is so engaging and thrilling. Specially when Lenneth starts learning about the truth
The way the story is unlocked through player curiosity and determination is one of the things that really pulled me in. U can play the game many times without seeing the A ending route cutscenes, but when you finally do, it's such a surprising and satisfying revelation. Love this game to pieces.

I might have a little question. Where do you suggest to go after Artolian Mountain Ruins? I went to solde catacombs and im having a hard time with the monkey and those two wizard / mage ( i didnt lv up any car for now exept lenneth) should I ? And should I back track go somewhere else?
If you're playing on normal, the forest of woes should be available, and the enemies are a bit easier. If you're in hard mode, then only the solde catacombs is available. Either way. Those mages are in the back row, and you should have Llewellyn in your party who's an archer. Archers and mages can attack back row enemies. You can also use divine item to purchase a bow for Lenneth. Make sure you're using cp points to get skills. I think u can get the first aid skill now, which is great for the opening chapters. It has a chance to heal some hp at the beginning of your turn. And level up your party too. Even though this is the beginning of the game, you don't have the gear to compensate for low levels yet. Doesn't have be to many levels, just enough to get a good skill or 2. Hope this helps!

Correct! When pursuing the normal B ending, do spirit concentration at the beginning of every chapter until Lenneth doesn't find anything. If lenneth doesn't find anything during spirit concentration, it means u found everything and periods won't be used if nothing is found during spirit concentration.

for those who don't know, there is a short manga of this...though it is a different story but the ending is same but too short...the main heroes in the manga are: Lenneth, Arngrim, Jelanda, Belenus, Mystina...and they showed how Lawfer died which was not shown in the game...in the Game He just died with a vague explanation..especially with the conversation he made with Aelia saying like "you can't do it on your own" or "you can't beat it"... not the exact phrase or sentence but that's the implication...
Sup small sprite! 1 year later im playing the game again.on hard diff this time! Bought a walktrought guide cause i really enjoyed the game last time and i didnt wanted to miss a thing. And this video is again,very helpfull. Unfortunately by accident ,I left the tower of lezard valteh when i first entred it. But i did finished it in one run... Its the only thing i did wrong and when i recrute new car, My seal value seem to stay the same. So i was wondering if i sould still try ending A or i screw up (and should keep lucian since I cant get ending A anymore. Anyway THX again for this video very usefull to this day ! Cheerz have great day!
Outside of hard mode and the seraphic gate, the best way to level up is to grind through the dungeons when you have spare time. If you have good equipment, the cave of oblivion (while random) can sometimes spawn stong monsters for a good grind. Remember to equip the coin of fortune and the ring of learning for extra exp points. And don't forget that the emerald necklace also gives you extra 100 cp points per level up. On hard mode, I grinded through the Arianrod Labyrinth in chapter 8. The monsters there gave me a lot of exp. Keep in mind that while grinding is helpful, it isn't fully necessary. VP is more item focused. In other words, equipment makes you very strong. I usually farmed a couple of levels per chapter, just to be safe.
I'm not really an expert on emulation. But I have used duckstation which imo, is a really good ps1 emulator. I don't think there's a way to bypass disc changing. But it's easy to use the disc change function. If emulation is your thing, then I highly suggest youtube tutorials on how to use them. It's pretty easy and most retro games from the ps1 era and before run on almost any pc. Lastly, emulators are still being updated to this day and have become even more user-friendly than they used to be. I think it's worth the time to learn the basics.
@@smallspritetv i tried but every game that need to change disc, it just stuck because each disc has different file. so since vp has 2 disc in ps1, i need to downlad 2 different file
Great guide! 1 question- when you “scan” the map at the start of a chapter and the dots appear on the map- how do you know if the dot is a recruitable character or a dungeon?
Unfortunately, there's no on-screen indication that differentiates the two, lol. Most recruitable characters are in towns, so your best bet is to read the location's description to see if they're a town or a dungeon.
the easiest way is by listening during the spirit concentration. if there are char voices, then its a sure recruit char. if no voice, its confirm just a dungeon

Sure! When you go into the in-game menu, go to Use Item, hit X, and scroll to the right. All the artifacts will be listed there. If I'm not mistaken, if they're equippable or usable, they'll also appear in the equipment menu and use item. Remember that equippables will only appear on a character's menu if it applies to them. Hope this helps!
I got the paht of final A (thanks for the guide) but the game crashed in the escene of valkyrie and gandar after the combat...😢 I go now to the weppyn lilis for the final events but no gandar (last chararter) (I dont know if is a glich o emulation problem but beware)
sup me again. I have a question, what is the endgame gear for warriors and mages? I mean from weapons like swords and spears cause I have Lawfer in my party and also helms, armor, gauntlet, greaves, and accessories? tia
Hey! Yeah, it's been a while lol. From what I remember, the Unicorn's Horn is a great endgame scepter for mages. It should be listed in the endgame part of the video. The robe of brytain is good mage armor, and so is the sylphan robe. Elven boots are also good. Icicle guards and glare guards can also be equipped by mages. Supreme garland is also a good headpiece. That's what I remember off the top head at the moment. Hope this helps, and if anything else comes to my mind, I'll let u know.
Me again lol. I just finished that damn tower and i got the creation gem now BUT i gave the fairy bottle to Odin.(oupsi) can i get endgame gear near the end of the game or i sould save 100k mp for orchalcium? Not sure about that. Thx for all the good advice again!
What u need is the manual of resurrection and the fairy bottle. Or, the manual of resurrection and a orihalcon. One of these 2 recipes makes the creation jewel.

Question, I started chapter 4 using all the spirit concentrations, and removed the Nibelungen ring at the game start, I still can have the A ending? Note: I want to lezard tower just after recruiting everyone.
I think i might be under lever/ gear for the tower of lezard ! Is it possible to skip thid dungeon in chapter 4 and come back later im really having a bad time. My party is around lv 20.😭
If you're shooting for the regular B ending, then yeah, u can skip it. Just keep in mind that the creation jewel is hidden in his tower, and missing out on that means u miss out on endgame gear. But I think u can come back in later chapters if I'm not mistaken. It's a tough dungeon. The elevators make it into a maze, the enemies are tough so I understand the issue. Wasn't easy for me either lol.

Ok, so I'll tell u a little pointer about dragons. They can be killed in one turn using a dragon slayer sword. The sword is breakable, but if u beat the dragon in one turn (which is easy to do with the dragon slayer), the sword won't break. The same logic applies to the mage slayer weapon for some mage bosses, raven slayer for some flying bosses, beast slayer for chimeras and other beasts, etc.
Hi man! Just a correction. Your tip partially breaks the game. Have you ever tried transmuting orihalcon with the jewel of creation? This completely breaks the game if done 1x early, but if done 3x it makes it look like hacker mode or pre-seraphic gate. To do this, simply sell the broken weapons after transmuting to farm 100k 3x. With the save anywhere function, it makes it easier to drop broken weapons. Spoiler: it starts with "G". And yes, I was crazy enough to do that, and in the Japanese version on hard mode.
In the video segment that's covered on transmutation, I mention that it breaks the game and makes it easier. And nope I never tried the other tricks you mentioned. Now I have to give them a shot! 😀
If I remember correctly, you can but you don't have to because there are some that are useless. I kept most of them and my eval points were still pretty high.
IIRC, valkyrie profile was originally going to be a strategy style game like Final Fantasy tactics and Tactics Ogre. Maybe that's why the mechanics are different 😅. But once u understand them, u can become OP and it's a lot of fun. Thanks for watching btw! 😁
I'll be honest, I haven't tried it outside of chapter 4. You are most likely doomed though because doing everything listed in chapter 4 makes the most mathematical sense. Sorry and sorry for the late reply 😥

Question, I started chapter 4 using all the spirit concentrations, and removed the Nibelungen ring at the game start, I still can have the A ending? Note: I want to lezard tower just after recruiting everyone.
As of right now, you should be good. Just continue to follow the instructions in the video, and you should get the A ending.
And as long as you beat the tower of lezard in ONE run, you should be fine.

I think i might be under lever/ gear for the tower of lezard ! Is it possible to skip thid dungeon in chapter 4 and come back later im really having a bad time. My party is around lv 20.😭
If you're shooting for the regular B ending, then yeah, u can skip it. Just keep in mind that the creation jewel is hidden in his tower, and missing out on that means u miss out on endgame gear. But I think u can come back in later chapters if I'm not mistaken. It's a tough dungeon. The elevators make it into a maze, the enemies are tough so I understand the issue. Wasn't easy for me either lol.
@@smallspritetv aright thx ! Ill come back to it later for the creation jewel! Even my special attacks does 1 dmg to dragons that i cant skip /freeze/jump over. The game wasnt difficult at all until i ran into thoses guys. Thx again for the tips i really apreciate it !
Ok, so I'll tell u a little pointer about dragons. They can be killed in one turn using a dragon slayer sword. The sword is breakable, but if u beat the dragon in one turn (which is easy to do with the dragon slayer), the sword won't break. The same logic applies to the mage slayer weapon for some mage bosses, raven slayer for some flying bosses, beast slayer for chimeras and other beasts, etc.
Hi man! Just a correction. Your tip partially breaks the game. Have you ever tried transmuting orihalcon with the jewel of creation? This completely breaks the game if done 1x early, but if done 3x it makes it look like hacker mode or pre-seraphic gate. To do this, simply sell the broken weapons after transmuting to farm 100k 3x. With the save anywhere function, it makes it easier to drop broken weapons. Spoiler: it starts with "G". And yes, I was crazy enough to do that, and in the Japanese version on hard mode.
In the video segment that's covered on transmutation, I mention that it breaks the game and makes it easier.
And nope I never tried the other tricks you mentioned. Now I have to give them a shot! 😀

If I remember correctly, you can but you don't have to because there are some that are useless. I kept most of them and my eval points were still pretty high.

This game kinda weirdest so far, every JRPG i've played.
IIRC, valkyrie profile was originally going to be a strategy style game like Final Fantasy tactics and Tactics Ogre. Maybe that's why the mechanics are different 😅. But once u understand them, u can become OP and it's a lot of fun. Thanks for watching btw! 😁

It's the PS5/PS4 version. It was re-released and fitted for wide-screen.
Because the PS4/5 Version is based on the PSP release which already was 16:9.

I'll be honest, I haven't tried it outside of chapter 4. You are most likely doomed though because doing everything listed in chapter 4 makes the most mathematical sense. Sorry and sorry for the late reply 😥
