Any movie with Charlton Heston and Susan Hayward is worth watching. Two of the greatest actors of that era. ❤

@@SandraDonaghy As much as I love Susan Hayward, Charlton Heston's "Out of my cold, dead hands" stunt at the NRA convention really turned me against him. And here hes playing Andrew Jackson, probably the most brutal president in US history, and I'm from Tennessee. Not to mention his policies regarding Indigenous Americans.

Great movie! With good actors! Anybody noticed James Best? I think John McIntire was an underrated actor. I enjoyed him very much in the Mississippi Gambler with Tyrone Powers. Of course, we all appreciate Charlton Heston's and Susan Hayward's talent. My wife and I were so excited to see an old movie that we never saw before! That was a treat!

I love historical films and this is a good one. But two thoughts: 1. Why, oh, why did Fox shoot this in black and white? 2. Where was the music over the credits? For as much as Alfred Newman wrote many great scores, this is one of his loveliest.
