Rather than pulling out the snapped blade with your fingers, couldn't you push it directly into the used blade container by sliding up a new blade? I looked at the Stanley a few days back, but went with the Fiskars Pro.

Yes good idea. Once blade is cut push blade out to push used blade in container.
