@mlukegrady atgms are fine for the most part, although I just wished that they did 50% of the damage with 2x the max ammo with 25% faster reload. Should also cut the module damage in half because there is no reason for a 85mm atgm to do 400 module damage when a 152mm cannon does 200.
First off, WWII Artillery was NOT a "point weapons system" like it is in this game. Artillery is just a tank that gets to sit in the rear, without being spotted, firing at players being spotted, with accuracy that TD's would love to have. Secondly, Wargaming has buff/nerf these things forever and STILL cannot find a balance for this game, based upon them using them as a "point weapons system". RNG based, which is another rant, they can and will wreck you. The in game targeted alarm is good, but just not enough. Third, you want to make arty balanced, every time they fire, they become visible on the screen for 10 seconds. Make these players put down the donuts and actually move/think for a change. Also, limit ONE artillery per battle. Fourth, reduce the range, simple as that. You've made them a "super tank" with stupid damage and reload capabilities, put a 2000 meter, maybe a 3000 meter range on them. You CANNOT balance anything that is allowed to sit in the rear, unspotted while it fires over and over again, doing the damage it can do, while being able to control the entire map. That is just plain stupid. (Looking straight at you TARAN).
You didn't mention the artillery targeting alert that's now standard in the game. Definitely makes it easier to know when to get into arty safe positions.
Barely helps, because knowing when you’re targeted by arty will force you to concentrate some of your attention on getting safe and in some situations, you’ll have to completely remove yourself from the fight in order to avoid getting hit
That is the problem, if you are fighting and now you are also targetet by artillery, now you have to move your tank in a way to be a harder target vs Arty and somehow focus on the tanks that are infront of you while being a target, so you have to deal with Splash damage and other tanks gunning for you, so yeah Arty is annoying no matter what, and if Light tanks did their job at hunting Arty rather than getting killed at the start ot camping on the back... for some reason, maybe it could be better, but good light tank players are rare.
Lower tier arty is disgusting,there are two each team most games and your tracked the other one hits you then the other and you die .wg know what there doing they wanted arty to be like this,they want to frustrate you,force you to play cold war,or spend money
Artillery existed back then and yes it could blow tanks up with one shot there's other game modes without artillery and I've only owned a few artillery but it makes it more challenging that's my opinion I hated to see the Nerf but I know a lot of people didn't like it of course it annoying but it really happened
Dude you need to do some more research. Artillery fired in groups and yes out of the group one shell may hit a tank and destroy it but this was extremely rare. Artillery was never a pin point weapon but an area of effect weapon.
If I had to make a change it would be to make the range much shorter on most artillery and un-nerf the camo a bit so they play more like the FV304 did before the changes and only have one per team. Make them a "high risk, high reward" type of vehicle that plays more like a derpy TD with the ability to shoot over obstacles. It would force them to always be moving, use cover, use camo, and not sit at the back of the map the entire game. It would also open the map up for all the non-artillery to make plays and take good positions since artillery's influence would only be localized to a certain part of the map.
The drone view that arty has while attacking is ok for lets say cold war era but ww2 didnt have that had scout planes but arty fire was cordinates and response back from forward observers ...

My opinion, I think artillery shouldn’t have that “safety net” of being undetected the whole game for the amount of damage they’re doing throughout the match. One way to give players a shot at revenge on an artillery unit is that everytime an artillery unit takes a shot the grid square they shot from gets pinged, artillery stays undetected still until spotted, but the grid square on the mini map pinging their last known location would be a good way to organize an assault for counter play.
I didn't have a problem with artillery like a some people but there were a few that needed some adjustments t92 splash conquer gc arc French too many rounds etc. but a lot of times it was players sitting still in the same spot crying about getting hit by arty three times😂 (my friends included) instead of moving, take cover, or watching a round come in and dodging it like I do in most tanks at least now they tell you arty is looking your way
I had no idea this change had been made. Had a crazy game in the 155 58 just yesterday. Shotgunned a M53/55 on a turret swing. Both in motion. 😮 Now I see.
That’s why I quit playing ww2 and started playing Cold War , for me it’s much more enjoyable. You can see everyone and if you are behind a rock you won’t recieve 500 damage.
I need advice. I'm trying to get the achievement where you need one tier 10 in each class, scout, med, heavy, etc... I'm EXTREMLY indecisive. I don't know which medium path to take. The highest tier meds I have would be the P.43 TER, garbage tank, and the Indien Panzer which I haven't actually played yet. My tier 10's I have would be the MK6, GRILLE 15 and probably the FV4005. Which medium would fit my playstyle?
I wasn't one-shotted, but first game in my O-NI on Highway, in the spawn circle, I was hammered and tracked repeatedly till dead by the time 1 minute had been elapsed in game.
My snakebite is dedicated to yolo’ing arty at the beginning of the game. Whenever I get frustrated by arty ruining me, I’ll jump in that thing and bum rush the enemy spawn within the first minute of the game.
Everyone who complains about arty needs to play it and get good at it. Once you understand the mechanics of what it takes to be good at arty the sooner you'll be able to adjust your playstyle when your in a non arty tank. I've gold marked 1 and 3 & 2 marked more and I NEVER have a problem when I'm playing anon arty tank.
You mean sitting in the back of the map. Burger in one hand, controller in the other? Shooting from complete safety with guaranteed damage that can really be bounced? Sorry bro arty takes 0 skill. Just shoot whatever tank is spotted and in fire range. That alone will make an impact in the game. With 1 braincell needed. Its just dumb design choice, same with carriers in Ships. Its just beyond boring to make a class that can just deal big damage from a huge distance.

bruh, I get hit every damn game in certain tanks that like ridgelines and I am not a noob or a average player. It is literally impossible to doge with artys current accuracy if they have rng on their side and they keep targeting you with their new insane rate of fire. If they decide to they can ruin your game and the only thing you can do is leave the front and remain unspotted. Such well thought out game mechanics😆
Front and back rocking is not exactly a good idea, I hit those very often, plus with premium HE even a miss may cause splash damage and ground you for a moment. Try rocking front and back but also add turns and distance variety so don't go 2m front 2m back and repeat, some people do that. That's only when you're open and have arty target at you. When you head for cover and arty is aiming, make un unexpected turn, I will assume you are going for cover therefore adjust my aim forward and try to catch you before you reach cover, you can dodge by moving elsewhere just for one shot and miss, that will buy you crucial arty reload time to hide. On slopes when fire coming from top of it you can also just stand still sometimes, inexperienced arty won't hit you because of the terrain messes with their aim, even good players will miss occasionally. And arty will almost always choose the easiest target there is so they may move on
For stty you dint need skills. My 11 years old daughter try play arty for the first time. She play 261 and she make 5000 damage. So ní skill needed for thi 💩💩💩🤣🤣🤣
The changes have made the game better, but they should go further. Removing Super HE shells or changing them so that they are not just better versions of HE shells. For example, a Super HE could have a wider blast radius but less damage or penetration.
I played this game when it first came out. Then I stopped for a very long time and just recently picked it back up. Always loved the game just life happened and so couldn’t play for a while. Since playing for about 2 weeks now, I must say. I still get one shot dead from full health in a medium tank. Happens often enough to irritate me but not often enough to make me quit. I really don’t like how they took them away though so I can’t get an artillery tank at all. I would like to be able to play one to get the fell and see if I maybe can better be prepared playing against them. Sadly don’t have that option anymore. From what I’ve seen and read, if you don’t have one then there’s no way of getting one. Still a fun game though.
huh yall cant buy artillery anymore ? i once downloaded the game 5 years back and now started playing it again i can still see the artillerys in shop but i dont play them i played them once and it is just not that rewarding most of the shots i miss anyway and its feels more like a 2d tower defense game with artillery and when i play these days im happy when opponent and my side both dont have artillery because imo it makes the experience better
Arties aren't undetectable.Just watch where the shot comes from.And that's where you head 22 look for and kill them. I love to play Artie, but the missing part can make it very frustrating and then to have a yellow light tank. Come in and kill you before. You can even really be effective definitely very Is discouraging to play arty

Arty is WAY better now especially if you are a decent player. I've gold marked 1 (M41 HMC), 3 marked 3, and 2 marked a few more since the change. It's the faster reload and increased HP pool that makes the difference. Waaaaaay more fun to play now. 😂😂😂😂😂
In this video, minus the intro, you fired 37 shots, 22 of which did damage. That's 59% of your shots doing damage and I can only assume that the clips shown were cherry picked (I understand why). So in clips that are above average you're doing damage 59% of the time so for standard gameplay it is going to be lower. It still baffles me that the mega alpha argument is used; just because the potential is there doesn't mean it plays out. 80% of arty games are blow outs, 19% are ok and 1% are those one in a million ammo racks. Everyone cried about the 1% which is in my opinion, complete ignorance.
I like playing arty, but I think they ruined it when they added the being targeted warning, regardless of the changes it’s still can be challenging to hit your target when they know you’re looking at them. Wish console was more like pc again

What gameplay is it when your RNJesus relies on other players to spot the target, and the gun to sit still long enough, and then that's before you even get a hit on the tank. Oh what's that? Might as well a slot machine that smashes your nuts after 4 bad spins.
High Explosive and Derp guns, you see you don't need arty to counter Hulldown tanks, and the fact you are fighting a hulldown tank with something like a soviet heavy on a ridge... well that is your problem, you can have a TD on the back to help you as you bait the tanks, even the best hull down tanks will think twice about their strategy if a 130 to 180 mm shell with HE or similar splashes their turret for 200 to 700 Damage.

I like the higher HP of arties for two reasons, the light tank yolowagons are nearly a thing of the past and when arties are spotted i can get lots of damage whacking them with normal tanks.
The fact that I can in a T92 HMC , fully take 2 Shells and batter my opponent while they reload, makes me happy, Shotgun mode ftw 🙌 The fact that people don’t like arty, is the main reason I still play em 😂
Arty is cancer. Makes playing heavy armoured vehicles horrible. As much as the AVRE or the Taran are toxic tanks, I would prefer to play against them, then Arty in any game.
With all the changes that have taken place regarding artillery, some of them were unnecessary in my opinion, I find it unbelievable that a Unicom, such as yourself states that arty is still unfair, even though arty let's you know when it is targeting you, maybe you should try to get out the way of it's shell, as I mean to say, you see the tracers. Therefore it is clear that you do not want to play the game fairly, because your goal is to completely irradicate a tank class that you hate, excluding other people's opinions. After all, you have made it clear in the previous videos that that is your intention, so will not stop until Arty is gone from the game. Therefore, a bad player!
The low tiers are worse for better players and better for worse players now. Like Al their changes similar to when they changed lights from playing 3 tiers up. WG wants mediocrity and normalcy across the board. They don’t value classes which require specific play styles to do well. They want everyone to be a special and yolo every game. Back when arty was fun I enjoyed it and had a 3moe at every tier. Now I won’t touch it. It’s just boring and insufferable. Like every other new thing they add. Just worsens the game with every update. Watch them put a Wiesel in WW2 next for 20k gold. Wouldn’t put it past them.
I play the Tier9 US M53/M55. I use the base gun but use Prem HE (higher rate of fire with same damage output) and I'm consistently in the top 5 of my team at the end of the match. I love shot gunning Light Tanks that think I'm an easy kill. I often get over 3000 dmg or more.
I bring my 1.0 br 150mm howitzer to top tier battles just to mess with folks that think that it "isn't possible" It's just *not easy* and there's a big difference. Same with arty in wot.
You can’t tell me that there error circles are accurate. Looking at the size of artillery error circles tell me how an arty can hit you 5 shots in a row. The mathematical probability of this is huge but it happens in WOT Console on a regular basis. Add to that arty is an area of effect weapon and not a pin point. Get that WOT is a game and not a representation of historical tanks, but arty just ruin the game in my opinion. Best thing ever is no arty in CW
Horrible changes. I have the t92 tier 10 n im only hitting people for 400. Before the update i was able to 1 shot n do 1800 or bare min 500. I havent done over 900 damage just useless now.
On top of that. Its extremely difficult to hit people, since they have arty detection. And the maps that they have added are just ubsurd for arty. You cant hit anyone because of all the hills and mountains or there just two paths so most of the game there just zero shots
I don’t hit much anymore with artillery. Especially the artys that only shoot HE shells and have a range where you have to be within the enemy’s view range to be able to even target you. Especially the British line arty. Arty used to be kinda fun to play. Now it’s a waste of time
Why haven't you switched to (the better tank game) war thunder? I don't understand how someone can enjoy wot that long. At least WT gives you multiple spawns, artillery that takes actual skill and math knowledge to properly use, and even planes if you want to be a fly boy. What exactly does wot offer that WT doesn't do *better* and with less frustration?
Here’s an idea, remove artillery from the regular mode and then refund everyone double the silver they paid for any artillery in their garage and double the gold for premium arty. Problem solved, everyone’s happy. They can still play arty in custom battles and training mode if their heart really longs for arty gameplay 😁👍
I have no doubt that if there was a WWII game mode without artillery it would be a success. I'm glad Cold War exists even with its flaws.

Shouldn't arty play include counter battery fire? Attacking enemies arty. At some point right?

When you head for cover and arty is aiming, make un unexpected turn, I will assume you are going for cover therefore adjust my aim forward and try to catch you before you reach cover, you can dodge by moving elsewhere just for one shot and miss, that will buy you crucial arty reload time to hide. On slopes when fire coming from top of it you can also just stand still sometimes, inexperienced arty won't hit you because of the terrain messes with their aim, even good players will miss occasionally. And arty will almost always choose the easiest target there is so they may move on

Hey! Using console, how do you activate Artillery View? I seem to have the standard view only?
The changes have made the game better, but they should go further. Removing Super HE shells or changing them so that they are not just better versions of HE shells. For example, a Super HE could have a wider blast radius but less damage or penetration.
I played this game when it first came out. Then I stopped for a very long time and just recently picked it back up. Always loved the game just life happened and so couldn’t play for a while. Since playing for about 2 weeks now, I must say. I still get one shot dead from full health in a medium tank. Happens often enough to irritate me but not often enough to make me quit. I really don’t like how they took them away though so I can’t get an artillery tank at all. I would like to be able to play one to get the fell and see if I maybe can better be prepared playing against them. Sadly don’t have that option anymore. From what I’ve seen and read, if you don’t have one then there’s no way of getting one. Still a fun game though.
huh yall cant buy artillery anymore ? i once downloaded the game 5 years back and now started playing it again i can still see the artillerys in shop but i dont play them i played them once and it is just not that rewarding most of the shots i miss anyway and its feels more like a 2d tower defense game with artillery and when i play these days im happy when opponent and my side both dont have artillery because imo it makes the experience better
Arties aren't undetectable.Just watch where the shot comes from.And that's where you head 22 look for and kill them. I love to play Artie, but the missing part can make it very frustrating and then to have a yellow light tank. Come in and kill you before. You can even really be effective definitely very Is discouraging to play arty

Arty is WAY better now especially if you are a decent player. I've gold marked 1 (M41 HMC), 3 marked 3, and 2 marked a few more since the change. It's the faster reload and increased HP pool that makes the difference. Waaaaaay more fun to play now. 😂😂😂😂😂
In this video, minus the intro, you fired 37 shots, 22 of which did damage. That's 59% of your shots doing damage and I can only assume that the clips shown were cherry picked (I understand why). So in clips that are above average you're doing damage 59% of the time so for standard gameplay it is going to be lower. It still baffles me that the mega alpha argument is used; just because the potential is there doesn't mean it plays out. 80% of arty games are blow outs, 19% are ok and 1% are those one in a million ammo racks. Everyone cried about the 1% which is in my opinion, complete ignorance.
I like playing arty, but I think they ruined it when they added the being targeted warning, regardless of the changes it’s still can be challenging to hit your target when they know you’re looking at them. Wish console was more like pc again

High Explosive and Derp guns, you see you don't need arty to counter Hulldown tanks, and the fact you are fighting a hulldown tank with something like a soviet heavy on a ridge... well that is your problem, you can have a TD on the back to help you as you bait the tanks, even the best hull down tanks will think twice about their strategy if a 130 to 180 mm shell with HE or similar splashes their turret for 200 to 700 Damage.

I like the higher HP of arties for two reasons, the light tank yolowagons are nearly a thing of the past and when arties are spotted i can get lots of damage whacking them with normal tanks.
The fact that I can in a T92 HMC , fully take 2 Shells and batter my opponent while they reload, makes me happy, Shotgun mode ftw 🙌

Arty is cancer. Makes playing heavy armoured vehicles horrible. As much as the AVRE or the Taran are toxic tanks, I would prefer to play against them, then Arty in any game.

With all the changes that have taken place regarding artillery, some of them were unnecessary in my opinion, I find it unbelievable that a Unicom, such as yourself states that arty is still unfair, even though arty let's you know when it is targeting you, maybe you should try to get out the way of it's shell, as I mean to say, you see the tracers. Therefore it is clear that you do not want to play the game fairly, because your goal is to completely irradicate a tank class that you hate, excluding other people's opinions. After all, you have made it clear in the previous videos that that is your intention, so will not stop until Arty is gone from the game. Therefore, a bad player!

The low tiers are worse for better players and better for worse players now. Like Al their changes similar to when they changed lights from playing 3 tiers up. WG wants mediocrity and normalcy across the board. They don’t value classes which require specific play styles to do well. They want everyone to be a special and yolo every game. Back when arty was fun I enjoyed it and had a 3moe at every tier. Now I won’t touch it. It’s just boring and insufferable. Like every other new thing they add. Just worsens the game with every update. Watch them put a Wiesel in WW2 next for 20k gold. Wouldn’t put it past them.
I play the Tier9 US M53/M55. I use the base gun but use Prem HE (higher rate of fire with same damage output) and I'm consistently in the top 5 of my team at the end of the match. I love shot gunning Light Tanks that think I'm an easy kill. I often get over 3000 dmg or more.

You can’t tell me that there error circles are accurate. Looking at the size of artillery error circles tell me how an arty can hit you 5 shots in a row. The mathematical probability of this is huge but it happens in WOT Console on a regular basis. Add to that arty is an area of effect weapon and not a pin point. Get that WOT is a game and not a representation of historical tanks, but arty just ruin the game in my opinion. Best thing ever is no arty in CW

Horrible changes. I have the t92 tier 10 n im only hitting people for 400. Before the update i was able to 1 shot n do 1800 or bare min 500. I havent done over 900 damage just useless now.
On top of that. Its extremely difficult to hit people, since they have arty detection. And the maps that they have added are just ubsurd for arty. You cant hit anyone because of all the hills and mountains or there just two paths so most of the game there just zero shots

I don’t hit much anymore with artillery. Especially the artys that only shoot HE shells and have a range where you have to be within the enemy’s view range to be able to even target you. Especially the British line arty. Arty used to be kinda fun to play. Now it’s a waste of time

Here’s an idea, remove artillery from the regular mode and then refund everyone double the silver they paid for any artillery in their garage and double the gold for premium arty. Problem solved, everyone’s happy. They can still play arty in custom battles and training mode if their heart really longs for arty gameplay 😁👍
