I've played and supported (financially) this game for 10 years straight since the beta as many others have, and all I received for my loyalty was a year 10 badge to put on my tanks and a poultry 7 days of Premium. I feel the players who have been loyal to this game since it's release on console could have been given tier 10 premium as a thank you.
I agree they should give us 25k in gold considering how much we have spent on their game from 8 yrs on up give a certain amount of gold but the 10 yr should be 25k it’s a drop in the bucket to them
I've stopped playing it. 24/4/24 is my 10 year badge day. I'm gonna wheel out my Iron Rain that day, play a battle, stick the badge on it and delete the game. I used to enjoy the game but it's just no fun anymore.

The biggest problem is people in tier 10 matches that never played above tier 6 until they got their "free" Season Pass tank. So many people have no idea how to play at higher tiers because they can just buy a high tier tank and the gameplay suffers because of it. Also, I think they need to buff the older tanks like the IS7 and T57 so they can compete against the power creep.

I miss how I could stack equipment, now it forces me to sell one to put another on even if I just wanna examine how it affects the stats as an experiment cause I like to think of different setups but nah can't do it anymore.
I had seven crews (one for each nationality in the game at that time) and each Commander was maxed-out at 25 Skills/Perks. And then, Update 6.0 happened, and they were all gone... no prior warning, no heads-up, nothing... just gone! But WG so generously "replaced" those seven 25-Skill Commanders with seven 9-Skill Commanders. WG also took away my ability to respec my Commanders one Skill at a time for 10 Gold, and "replaced" that with the ability to respec all of my Commanders' 9 Skills for 90 Gold, with no option to simply change one Skill for 10 Gold. Lovely... just lovely.
@@badczech8485 They be doing that to charge you more gold. I remember that too like just an individual perk, now you have to pay to reset them all they just care about money making it's not the same game.
I used to miss getting the silver back for the 10 gold unmounting but recently I realized just how much of a stupid waste of gold it was over the years of playing.
The graphical evolution of the game over these 10 years is undeniable, however, in terms of balance it is still well below expectations. Premium meta tanks still dominate most matches and explosive ammo also needs to be reworked. The mm is also another problem that needs to be reviewed, 3 minute 10/0 matches should not be recurrent.
Agree about the mm.Have lost count the number of times over the years Wargaming have claimed to be addressing it or trying to alter it for the better and yet here we are in 2024 and last week was in a battle of 3 tier 8's,4 tier 9's and 8 tier 10's.....and the game was over in 3 minutes.
I've been playing casually for a few weeks now (so far I've gotten to tier 7 in American heavy, t29 and all upgrades for it) and I've been enjoying it. My only gripe is the matchmaking sometimes. I thoroughly enjoy the matches which are 6,7,8 and even the ones that are just 7 and 8. It's when those tier 9s start coming into play that fun leaves the equation for me. It's so annoying pelting someone with 10 ricochets just to have them smack me like a fly.
the +/- 2 MM has allways been a issue in this game. Unless your good enough to play tanks 2 up from you and still do ok it's just all bad. Im sure WG would drop it to +/-1 as there have been events in the past where this was a thing. But with the low player count it would slow the wait for games down and WG are super up themselves about quick que times so it wont happen. They would rather have fast bad games than people wait 2 mins for a better game.
I don´t think that MM is the issue. For example T29 is awesome tank if do you know how to play it and you can do a lot in game with 9s. There is a lot more damage what you can deal :):):).
@@wanteed8045 I'll admit that as I play more with it, I am learning where to strike from, and which situations to avoid in favor of say a flank move or what have you. I'm not very experienced with the game overall, let alone tier 7+ experience.
@@thadude949 I am playing a while:). If you are playing T29, try to find hulldown position. Turret is quite strong, definatelly against tirer 7 abd 8. Tier 9 if they use gold amunition will penetrate you. You can sidescrap, but carefully fo over angleing. Alpha damage is nice. It is very good tank in overal, but WOT has changed in time, so t29 is not dominating so much now. Good luck in game bro...
I miss all the maps and weather condition variants we use to have . Eclipse check out the available Tanks in the War Chests. Some are the same in all 3 chests.
A bad thing about the game for new players is how shadey wargaming is on giving you options for paying for things with Gold that seasoned players know can be purchased with Silver. They need to remove the gold currency as an option for premium ammo, consumables, and equipment. If I was a new player and found out I was paying gold for things that silver can buy, I would get mad and stop playing the game.
Tried to get my brother into it. He had some gold but ended up using it on individual boosters. When I found out he spent all his gold on that garbage I was kicking myself for not telling him right away how valuable gold is and not to waste it. He got kinda pissed and I think that was the last time he played.
2000 gold for a season is the best way to get premium tanks. Theyve had some great tanks with high silver yield in the season give aways. Save up what you can to get one season purchased and it'll pay for the next one and then some. Premium time through the season and contracts. Don't finish the contract though. Sign a completely new contract after you get the premium time stage completed. Then go back and re-sign the original. Rinse and repeat. You can actually gain premium time faster than you can use it especially with the season and the season challenges thrown in.

Also you can sell any commanders you don't need for 250k silver per shot. And I totally agree with you. Without a premium account it's impossible to make any silver. Especially with the CW earnings nerf more and more people will see how difficult it actually is.
Can definitely earn silver on standard account and without a premium tank with tier 5/6 tanks. It's not as much but you CAN earn if you are doing well enough in the battles. The biggest issue is that it's not worth bothering with high tiers anymore due to the worst players mostly taking up space there.
10 year vet here. CW financed my WWII experience. With the recent drop on CW earn amounts, I started playing more with standard ammo in WWII, to save cash. On some tanks with the MM they can’t pen anything with standard ammo, using prem ammo costs a fortune which can no longer be recouped on CW. Result? I play a lot less and it pushes me towards tanks with high standard pens. No longer play the others. So that’s it… when my 400 mill silver runs out, I’m off 😂😂 Really, a shame they ruin tier X with ‘noobs and Avres’ and CW eras. The game is mighty, the economy… a joke. Doesn’t matter what I do in WWII I bleed money, can still go positive in CW but most games on there are lemming trains and I’m no longer earning enough to put up with that over and over again. Do a game or 2 now rather than 10’s of games.
I've been playing for almost 8 years. I'm one of those dad's that started playing with my son, and now he is off at college and doesn't ever play the game anymore. I still login and play everyday. The thing that set the game apart from other games for me was the fact that I was playing with and against 29 other real people. The game was more of a chess match back when it was new. Modern era is designed more for the younger generation that enjoy fast pace gameplay with the reaction time being a large component of success.(i.e. Fortnite) I wish auto aim was removed for WWII to better appeal to the different generations of players.
Tell me about it I remember those long games on Mountain pass and bouncing shells in my E-100. It's all gone even some of the good old maps don't exist anymore.
Garage customisation, I think is pointless. For 99.9% of players and them giving rewards for it instead of boosters, silver. Consumables is sorta annoying
personally i think being able to collect things to customise your garage is a nice touch. Iv built clans and dojo's in other games and invested a lot into them. Although no one else will ever see my garage its nice to have momento's there to remind me. I know collecting tanks is more the done thing but i have time in this game and way more tanks than i can play in a day. Its been years since i did ALL my x2's on every tank, so yeah a stone dragon or bug eyed cat statue is sound by me. I have tooo many boosters anyway. Hundreds or even over a thousand of some.
6.0 killed the game and the player base big time be for 6.0 the game was so good You actually need to skill to actually be able to play The Game. Now it's basically just shoot and move And they made the commander skills a joke and I been playing The game Sense Beta and that was back on the xbox 360
As a new player (started about a week ago) i believe the one thing that makes this game horrible for me are 1. Op premiums that wreck ur game 2.+2-2 matchmaking. As an example im grinding the Is7 line rn and i have many times in a row fought fully upgraded is-3 in a stock kv85. Imo its absolutely bisarre how this mm is still a thing and it should be removed.
That’s how it’s been since the 360 days. So every person watching this video knows that + - 2 initial struggle. With experience you can find ways to still be useful even while under tiered.
I quit after 6.0. I put a bunch of time and money into the game. I look back now and see it was such a waste. Learned my lesson. I’ll never be back. Still watch videos etc but no desire to play at all.
Pre 6.0 is still better. Should have kept the pre 6.0 interface for WW2 and the new interface for Cold War but they probably didn't want to pay the programming costs. 9 limit to commanders skills still sucks. More and more bots in matches every month.
Short answer is NO. Almost all games are blow outs . You get the season pass and don’t even get the premium account for the length of the season. The game is junk.

Yeah the game is just no fun anymore. Almost every game the strategy is bumper cars or race around the map and try and cap the opponents base first. Like you said most games are blowouts that only last about 4 minutes with one team stomping the other completely. 2/10 would not recommend and I’ve been playing since it originally dropped on xbox 360.
I stopped sweating this game around 2 years ago or so. I think it was before or just around cold war was out. For years it been addictive to me. Being part of a well known clan, doing clan tourmanents. I probably spent at least £2,000 on the game and helped me after my big motorcycle accident back in 2018 where I was left bed bound. so WoT was a good relieve and a good way to suddenly loose 8-12 hours of your day. The premiums and merc tanks were okay for me . Tbh I mainly played for the historic real tanks. Didnt like playing solo and still dont when you get greens just going onto one side of the map straightaway and most of the time this lead to a loss for obvious reasons. I maxed out most relevant tech lines for me ,ainly the US, German and Soviet tier lines and British TDs to get the Deathstar. I still like playing the game now but some of the tanks now are stupidly OP or Nerfed to hell. Pretty much is worthless playing if you dont have premium account as hard to earn money besides from the challenges. Mt best moments is rocking a nice german heavy and get like 5-10K block in a tier 8-10 battle and not just with the Maus.
🛑🛑 I also played the game since it was first released on XBOX 360. 💯 I think the thing that “soured” me the most was update 6.0, and how I worked so hard to get 15 crew skills; and WG deleted them, and made only 9 crew skills. This action by Wargaming sent my tanking career in to a 2 year hiatus. I do play the game again, however I feel the game has lost something that it had, prior to update 6.0. 💯👍
So, back then, Xbox only offered 15 Skills to max-out a Commander? 🤔 I noticed that Eclipse also mentioned that in this video. I've always played on PS, and back before the infamous Update 6.0 happened, I had seven crews (one for each nationality in the game at the time) who were maxed-out at 25 Skills each! I'm guessing it was just a difference between the two platforms. But, at any rate, just as you lost all of your 15-Skill Commanders, I lost all of my 25-Skill Commanders when 6.0 hit. (Of course, WG "replaced" them with 9-Skill Commanders!) 🤷🤬🤦
Hmm… same here, day one 360 player.and I worked for years on those crews. My main wot friend quit instantly after that update and me soon after. I’ve missed the good ol’ wot lately so just checking the state of the game and community.

I have played this game almost exclusively for the last 9.5 years. Two months ago I let my premium time lapse. Two weeks ago I stopped playing altogether. I enjoy the game, but I feel like it has had its 'hooks' in me for too long.
6.0 killed the game. It was easier to play without spending a dime, nowadays its premium tanks all over the battlefield and your team is getting shitted on. Pay to win in my book
Played for almost ten years I think. I no longer spend any money on this game and I only have periods where I play it for a few months at a time with maybe a couple of months in between Biggest issue is the influx of op or game breaking premium tanks that are being handed out to everybody or you can just go buy a op tier 10 even if you have played zero games. It takes away all feeling of being rewarded for putting in the effort to grind up to a tech tier ten, especially given that the prem tanks are more then often better then their tech tree counterparts, the season challenges are also just about playing a lot, not completing a difficult challenge to get a unique premium tank that not everyone and their mother has, and of course it really messes up any level of balance to the games Map balcance and rotation are also still bad. It takes them years to redo a map and it comes back with HORRIBLE hit boxes on walls rocks etc, and they leave busted up maps unchanged for years with huge invicible walls ruining postitions. I told Max Chaos about some broken positions on a previous version of redshire years ago and he had no clue about it and wanted me to send video to do their job for them Of course there is diot tank balancing outside the "better then tech tree premium" balancing, like buffing artillery when most player agreed they wanted them nerfed. Also I do not trust rng to be random anymore after they got busted rigging rng in favor of new players i secret.
Rng is why I don’t take the game seriously at all, I’ve played 9 years and it’s so obvious to those who take the time and pay attention. It’s only gotten worse. I’ve taken account of first hit results and out of 20 hits I received 17 were ammo racks, that’s not random, that’s called fixing and it’s pathetic. Several years ago if I got ammo racked once or twice a session it made sense, now it’s just programming bias.

Very good points you make.I also feel the feeling of reward and acheivement grinding up the tech tree line is gone.Even when you do it seems pointless as many of thetech tt tanks that were once fun and good to battle in seems useless in today's game.Point about maps is also spot on.Not only do we have less of them,but the ones they have re-introduced now have areas that were once accessible now no longer so which results in corridor style of play and boring,stale predictable gameplay.The gameplay is terrible these days and i think a big factor of that is down to Wargaming.I think they've deliberately did this to maps to create a scenario where everyone is just mindlessly firing at each other in their tier ten premiums.
They also need to combine the ww2 and modern eras together in tiers 1-say 14 and they can just add more tiers. This way they would get more players playing modern because right now I just sell the modern war tanks because I don’t play it because I prefer the ww2 tanks
There's definitely a lot of improvements that made the game better but also miss some of the other stuff we used to have thinking about year 5-6 we were at the peak options and gameplay and now it's just how do we make this faster so people play more games and bringing out broken things that are overpowering shifting the balance to pay to win rather than skill and practice
@eclipse I checked your stats for you. You've been playing since Jan 2015 and 26.6k battles. Hope that helps as you seemed unsure in the vid. As far as if this game is worth playing V's Back in the day. It used to be a more strategic game, slower paced but if you made a mistake it was normally punished. Now its faster moving, more run and gun, like a slower version of CoD. Weak points are a thing of the past, so to a great degree is aiming. The skill needed has gone from knowledge of tanks and maps to driving round in circles with the auto aim on, sticking with the group as lone players soon get wolf packed and taken out. This game suits people who want to play CoD but are rubbish at it. People who need auto aim and to be able to get shot a few times and run away and hide. I stopped playing WoT a few years ago as i seen where it was going. After returning in Dec to see how it was i doubt i'll stay much longer. Maybe i'll just be a dirty casual. I can see WG has tried to appeal to more people by dumbing the game down, but tbh it don't seem to have worked as player numbers are pants. The game seems to be dying. Less servers (4 down to 2) for both XB and PS is not a good omen. Was it 4? I know there was EU NAE and NAW but was there a Aisa Aus server? Maybe im getting confused with PC or another tank game? I like that they give a lot of stuff away but tbh the good stuff, good tanks are way overpriced so cheep boosters and better graphics just dont cut it. Tier 10 prems are another bad cash grab idea. That AVRE durp thing is a dumb thing to sell. Not because its "broken". Threre have allways been broken tanks (6 shot waffle and deathstar for example) but they were techtree not just dumped on the MM. I miss the old style game play. I miss clan wars and all that shizzle. But thats all gone as far as i can tell. The game has decended into a clown car s**t show thats ok for a giggle now and then, but it sure as hell aint worth getting sweaty over anymore. See you on the battlefield tankers! lol.
I agree with most of what you said, especially regarding the style of gameplay these days... I friggin' *hate* auto-aim! What a damn joke! Map knowledge, an understanding of game mechanics, rudimentary battle tactics, and skill have been replaced by the "yolo around like a mentally-challenged hummingbird until you spot a target, and then just run in a circle, finger holding down the trigger button, with auto-aim engaged" mentality. Disgusting! Personally, I've only tried auto-aim *once* and it was enough to convince me that it was an "idiot switch" for knuckle-dragging Darwinian nightmares who can't play the damn game without it! So, I'm with you on that! But, the AVRE was an actual vehicle in real life, in service for 50 years, and it was a beast. It wasn't even classified as a "tank," per se, but instead was considered a "demolition vehicle," used to destroy and remove things like hardened bunkers and other reinforced emplacements, hence the devastating 165mm gun and the bulldozer blade. I don't mind historical vehicles in the game (even the "derpy" ones) and I greatly prefer them to the ridiculous "Frankentanks" (or "Tankensteins") that WG keep inventing out of their clueless imagination! @@badczech8485 I'm with you on the historical vehicles. But its a balance and game play issue for me. WG has no problem bringing in wheeled vehicles or tanks with twin main guns and playing with stats till it suits them, reguardless of historical accuraty or common sence. For example wheeled scout cars should have much better camo and view range than they do but that would be op so nope. Similar thing with the AVRE, like you pointed out it's not classed as a tank, so should it be in the game? I dunno.. But im ok with it anyway. What im not happy about is it being like the fv4005 but without the massive side of a barn weak point and sold as a prem. If the fv was overnight given a slightly worse gun, a propper turret and great frontal armour then sold as a prem i think that'd be bad. I'm not against AVRE's, in fact i'm for it.. But balanced. I am against op OR top tier prems. I understand WG has to make dollar but i'd rather they sold balanced fun tanks than broken or just ridiculous tanks with a massive spider for a turret etc. But i guess pay to win is easier to market than fun is in a game these days. Unfortunately cashing in is bad for the long turm health of the game. The whales will be happy with there new toys every month or so but if thats the price of fun then all the little fish will swim away and the whales will get bored of durping each other then its game over for WoT.

And believe me, I get it: It's a bit of a walk on a tightrope to produce a game that "has it all" for every level of player experience and skill level, as well as for every play style. And, as when walking a tightrope, the key when producing a game is balance. WG apparently either doesn't comprehend this, or simply doesn't care. I understand that a business needs to make a profit, or they will soon be out of business. But, a company that too often and for far too long puts their own profits above their customers' satisfaction, is a company doomed to failure. Business Theory 101: "Give the people what they want at a price they're willing to pay, and they'll become loyal cash-paying customers, and you'll become very successful." But if you kill the goose who always lays a golden egg every day just because you're in a hurry to have a bunch of golden eggs today... well, there won't be any golden eggs tomorrow. WOTC is WG's intellectual property; they own the game, and are free to do with it whatever they please. But, it seems that they are putting short-term profits over long-term consistency and sustainability, which, if continued, will eventually drive away even the most devoted of their player base, and that would kill the game. So, yeah, I agree with you: Balance is the key in developing vehicles for the game, and an endless string of totally OP, high-tiered, Premiums that anybody (regardless of experience level or playing ability) can just buy, does nothing but appease a few whales and alienate all of the little fish who only wanted to play for fun without going bankrupt! I used to be a daily player of the game back before the big update and I was even playing it when it was on the Xbox 360. Honestly, I’ve tried the new update and I personally dislike it. Tanks feel weird to drive and the game feels like I’m playing armored warfare. Which was a game that failed. Also, I think there’s way too many tanks in the game and especially premium tanks. I stop playing the game after a couple of months of the new update and I haven’t played it since
6.0 ruined the game. I had crews i grinded with for years and had top tier crews and they slashed them to only have somewhere around 9 perks I think. Thank you for punishing your loyal players. And this 80’s style of “futuristic” game hud with all of these unnecessary noises take you completely out of a game that was about classic tanks. Wish all the best to the new players and veteran players that love it. I always come back every year with crossed fingers hoping they fixed it. So far, no dice
I tried the game years ago for about an hour, downloaded it again yesterday and am completely confused as it put me in without any kind of tutorial. Having a lot of fun playing games but no idea what i am doing. i get the feeling i will need to put some time into watching videos to get a basic grasp of how to actually play properly
I've played since the games introudction and still play on a semi regular basis. Nostalgia definitely skews my view on the modern game, and I wish I was coming into the game as a new player. Although a massive grind, going through all of the tech trees for the first time was such an incredible feeling. Something that I can no longer experience, having unlocked after tech tree line minus the pigs and CW tanks. As a 'free' game, it is one I will always recommend to friends and strangers alike.
Another thing I’ve noticed my friends as well playing matches that were pretty much sweeps like having 3 or 4 good matches and losing the next 8-10 matches how do you explain that? Or firing well aimed shots that should have hit or done damage even premium rounds and either miss or bounce
Hey there, Eclipse! What a novel idea for a video! I really enjoyed listening to your thoughts about the game itself and its development through the years. I've been playing continuously (literally every day except for 3 days while I was in the hospital) for 6 1/2 years now, completing nearly 58,000 battles to date. Do I think that WOTC is still worth playing? Absolutely! I consider myself very fortunate in that I have both the time and the financial means to do pretty much as I please, especially at the ripe old age of 73. But I feel even more blessed that I am still both physically and cognitively able to even play a game like this! Most folks who I know personally at my age are in serious physical and mental decline and (if they're able to think at all) are consumed by thoughts of death, and the idea of "playing games" is beyond their comprehension and/or ability. Is WOTC "perfect?" Hell, no! But, I consider it absurd to expect "perfection" in *anything* in life! My point is this: People have a free-will choice either to play the game or to not play the game. Like the game? Play the game! Don't like the game? Don't play the game! But perpetually pissing and moaning about the game is a bit like bitching about the weather: No matter what the weather is like, some folks are going to like it, and others are going to hate it... but there's not a lot that anyone can actually *do* about it! I have bin playing for almost a year now. And i can say i enjoy it more everyday! The more you play the better you get and once you hit a certain level its really fun and challenging! Sure there are games where you either screw up yourself or get screwed up by one of those massive td’s or that one particular english medium. But that is not as common as people complain about once you reach a decent level of skill , map knowledge and have some decent tanks especially heavy tanks with armor and extra hitpoints that can take a beating. And those that complain and are very skilled they are mostly stats addicts and well for those people that are so tangled up in their numbers nothing or no one can do good for them. Because one unlucky moment can mess up there day and then they complain. I get it its not fun if you play for winrate and a taran blowns your ammorack early game without it being spotted. But well that part of the game and you are probably more then good enough to make up for it so chill out and have fun instead of complaining.
I miss the weather variants, too! People gripe about the lack of "realism" in the game, and yet, those same people hated the weather variants. What the hell, folks? Is it broad daylight and idyllic weather all day every day where you live? 🤦
I played this game religiously when It first came to console I loved it, I've put so many hours into it then 6.0 happened and completely ruined everything I worked so hard to get. I have been back on a few times thinking that its not that bad and I play a match and it is that bad. New players will probably never understand and think I'm just complaining but there were so many good moments before that one update. I think now I have completely laid the game to rest which is a shame because I would do anything to play before 6.0 again.
Funny, I updated and logged in for the first time since before the cold war tanks. My garage is a mess, my crews are a mess. To be honest after futsing with it for 15 minutes I gave up and turned if off. I guess I'm officially retired from WOT Console now? This was during the Christmas holiday and I saw that I had to pay to decorate my garage? That was odd. I have no idea how to assign skills back to my crews (if I even can) and it seems clunky to put the correct commander in the correct tank. I was an original beta tester and played for years. To log back in and find the game this dramatically different is kinda of disappointing really.
Just want to add my two cents for those that complain about new players using Tier X , I believe you guys are missing the feast that you use to have in previous years. If you noticed you get eaten by higher tiers when you advance the tech trees . Is literally frustrating, wen you get only destroyers and heavies , I dont think by that many new players but the ones who have been playing for a while that to me equals a feast at the expense of new players. Just saying. Maybe keeep the tiers X to go no less than IX . That migth seem a little more fair .
As a new player on Xbox I can’t understand how to use a bonus I keep getting. It’s a 200% xp boost. I see the other boosts 1.75 2 4 6 etc in the tanks but these others I can’t work out where they are. Can anyone help please.
I've played this game for just over 9 years and I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that this game is absolutely not worth playing anymore. The game's balance is the worst it's ever been and the horrific YOLO meta has just completely ruined the standard of gameplay now. The community is a pathetic shadow of its former self, with most of the game's experienced players now gone and previously valuable community channels (i.e. the forums) now defunct. The game feels like it simply has no direction now. 6.0's effects can still be felt even today. The game IS "playable", but it is far, far less enjoyable than it used to be. To be honest, it's more rage-inducing now than anything. I've reached a point where I've accepted that this game's days are numbered and pretty much nothing that Wargaming does will be able to repair the damage they have done since 6.0 and Cold War came out. It's bad enough that we have barely a third of what our community used to be ... now it's divided between two hostile camps - those that only support the true World of Tanks in WW2 and those who support WGCB's bastard lovechild in Cold War. How anyone can still say that this game is still enjoyable to play is beyond me.
I find the TANKS themselves enjoyable, but not the playerbase and broken tier 10 matches of how MM stacks one team compared to another in terms of quality of players.
They could at least throw the tech tree grinders a small bone by taking away the xp bonus so we can get MVP or just plain and simple place higher when we do better than a premie baby tank thats already buffed to be better. Skill should be rewarded better than pay to play regardless of money spent. Better yet bundle all the premie tanks under dlc packs I’m not buying a 50 dollar premium tank to be outmatched half the time. I’d consider buying 20+ tanks for 50 bucks though.
I have been playing WoT on PC for around 10 years now and I recently switched to Console version. You guys get so much more love here than PC, I think I'll bever go back to playing there
I'm playing for 7 years, in my opinion, WG should pay more attention to the cannon sounds, they are really poor,, for both sniper mode and outside the tank. Things like shell explosion and impact, should be more agressive. Engine smoke are quite a concern too. Well, that's my point guys. GG
I really don't know if it's better or worse now. Do miss war stories, shared modules, long earn ops and big pool maps with small changes to them. On the other hand, easier contracts to complete, easier ways of getting premiums tanks, cw vehicles and buffs to some tanks and lines that needed it. Still wish could nerfs very overpowered tanks like avre and taran and stop putting in autoloading premiums so much. Try team balance so each teams has equal autoloading spread
When 6.0 was first released it was buggy and missing features that we previously had, but they now have fixed. And that they have added some we didn’t have before hand aswell
I didn’t like the new ui and I REALLY didn’t like them obliterating my hard earned crews. My friend group all quit about then because of that update. Im checking back now and it seems like those main issues haven’t been “fixed” unfortunately. The ui is just preference and bugs can be fixed but the crews were the main issue.
I have my 8 year badge but stopped playing just before mercenary's release then came back in time to get the 292 era 3 season reward tank. I like the whole cold war setup for game play (true vision and no arty) but miss the days when you got to top tier you played players that earned it with tier 8 being the best you could buy. Now days it's just pointless to play a tech tree tank since the premium tanks out class there tier or era (t9 / t10 / era 1-3) very few tech tree tanks are competitive now days. The gi joe, Warhammer, and wisel tow Have made cold war era 2 and 3 a joke ATM.
Era 1 is as balanced as you can get. You can take out a premium T95E3 or E2 with the FV 105 pretty easy if you catch em by themselves. Same with the "overpowered" 4005...
I stopped playing WOT soon after 6.0 dropped but have played a few games in the last 2 weeks. WOT was a tactical game where knowing the strengths and weaknesses of different tanks was the most important element in success. Now it is an arcade game. However it is now much better than when 6.0 first dropped. IMO it is now back to perhaps 70% as good as it was before 6.0 dropped and I will continue to play it occasionally for a change. I can't agree that it is now better than before 6.0, much less about player skill now.
I Ohnastaly would like to see more tank lines added to ww2. Like I would love to see the new Japanese heavies with the hydronuematic suspension/gun stabilizer mechanics added to the game and maybe the Stb 1 also getting the hydronuematic suspension like its pc counterpart as we'll as the British wheeled mediums/the new polish TD line and the new czech light tanks added that are coming to wot pc and maybe the other Chinese heavy line. I would also like bushes to be fixed as well as more variety to the equipment system. Like something more like how pc has bond or (bonty equipment),fields mods, and incentive perks I would like to see added or something similar to it. I also like the idea of two load outs that pc has. Generally I think their could be more variety to our equipment, much like wot pc and blitz have.
Been playing since 360 days (remember when Chaffee fought tier 10?) but I’ve taken a long break ever since they released the first major graphics change. Really want to get back into it as I am sick of shooters of this point
The bug i deal with is that sometimes in the middle of a battle, my tank will lose functions entirely. Can't move the tank, but can rotate the turret but can't fire. Not sure what causes that. I disliked the older crew skill system. I can understand the issue with high skilled crew suddenly being only one commander, all that effort gone. Training is a good thing now, but i agree on the OP tanks.
Do you get the spinning tracks when sitting still aswell? I get all that from time to time and have done for years. As best i can tell its due a disconnect with the game server. Sometime i'll get booted and have to restart but it can fix its self. Check your LAN cable etc and i hope this helped.
Since Downgrade 6.0 WG have struggled with just about everything. In many ways it is similar to Blizzards path with WOW. So many little things that either didn't need changing or do need changing. To many to list here. So is it worth a players time in 2024? Yes and No. Is it worth spending real money? No.
New to game and console too actually. Think it’s pretty fun but the learning curve takes a while and trying to decide which line of tanks I want to try is also quite challenging. The pay to upgrade option seems a bit suspect but I’m enjoying it. World war 2 seems like my favourite and I got my first hate mail from other players for being a noob . Which I thought was funny but don’t respond to hate lol
The game is fubar right now. Reducing the amount of team mates you can play with was the worst thing to happen. Reducing it split clans to where they now try to count themselves into the same server. Also game macanics have suffered (example) The Weasel tow has completely stopped our clan playing era three. The fact that a light tank physically bounces off a 70 tonne tank when rammed is in my book total BS. You wouldn't see a Mini bounce off a Rolls Royce. They should also have actual top speed introduced to all tank types, this would make the game more tactical. But all Wargaming are interested in is money. Also the amount of times I've been harassed by Russians because I fly the Ukrainian flag on all my tanks (Even though I'm irish) is unreal. I thought Russians had their own servers, which was ment to be run by a different company. And Good luck getting a ban on them. Enjoy the content you produce. I'm 10 years in. Gg
I started on ps5 like 3 days ago. The training was interesting and I was able to get multiple tank at the beginning. I'm at the 3rd day and I have no idea why but I have 0 silver and each game a play I get 0 silver. I also notice that now I get killed almost instantly when I encounter my first enemy player. No idea what I'm doing wrong but yeah 3 days an I'm already annoyed with the game
World of tanks from a technological standpoint is far superior from what it used to be, but powercreep of all tiers and now "Eras" in cold war make the game far less enjoyable. Examples are the Molut/Weasel Fv211 Panzer 5/4 Lefh/low tier artillery And tanks taking the 183 from the deathstars and AVRE
That obj 477 in Era 3 is absolute bullsht. One 477 can turn the tide of an entire game, especially when huddled in with half their team. I usually turn my ass around and go the other way and save it for last. The last tanks in every game is a weasel or a 477. That should say something. They ruined Era 3.
I’ve been playing since the Xbox 360 and yes there’s things that need improvement graphically monetization and even match making which is a joke op tanks I still enjoy it my friends play new maps needed there’s a difference between console and pc new players don’t need skill when playing an op premium tank😂
After the Chinese update and the Cold War update I can’t play anymore. It’s complete garbage. I’ve spent close to 2,000$ over the years and I’ll happily say the game isn’t in my Xbox
It’s familiar imo and while frustratingly rng rigged it’s fun nonetheless. Just don’t take seriously, don’t feed the bear and enjoy until the servers go dark.
I play this game since it came out on playstation and update 6.0 was not the wrong way but also not the best befor 6.0 and the cross play with xbox only playstation was betwen 30-40k players now with cross play we have on a good day 20k and the crew sistem is ok but realy 9 perks 12 would be the best option in remember 25 was the max befor and the grind was the hell i lost 8 over lvl 20
6.0 and Cold War kept me playing. A training field/ target range to take try out a new tank would be nice for new players and veterans. Graphically, this game is falling behind other f2p/multiplayer games. The tanks could be more detailed, and the rendering distance on small to medium objects isn't impressive.
I honestly miss the old days, right around the time of war stories and when they were making the comics, those were good days, but now it just feels way too fast and like mobile game knock off
I jumped back in last week, was alot of fun. Had some time by myself, just testing some of my old tanks, reliving some of my memories. I was very surprised at how many people just snapshot, they don't even aim, and plus to add onto that, just sling premium every shot they fire. Got my 10 year badge at the start of the year.. So, I like to think I know a bit lol And! To add on, just how many weird tanks they've added, for instance.. The Ruthless, that was the whole thing about owning a Death Star or a Shit Barn, you were able to use that 183mm gun, tanks like the Ruthless pretty much set tanks like the Death Star aside, why get the Death Star when you can get a tank thats faster, has more armour, and has the same gun. It just disappointed me I guess. Anyway, that's my opinion, it's still alot of fun.
The game is still fun they just have to nerf a lot of the op premium tanks they release. Idc if they have to give players refunds it ruining the game as well as making the gaming boring. I have been playing since it came out and I believe it has a chance to be good but not how it is now.

They own the game; it is their intellectual property; they own all the rights to it; and we play with the understanding of that situation. Great video Eclipse 👍 My 10'th anniversary comming up in a few days, and yeah the game has certainly seen some changes in that time, both good and bad. Imo WG are taking a more "moneygrab" stance as of lately, dishing out "some" op tier X/Era 3 premium tanks through the season passes, and the free earn op reward is a tier 3 or 6 for example. I know WG has to make money and i know it costs money to run this game, but where are the new/old maps? Im guessing they are not being prioritised, because they don't make money. The new CW changes? As i agreed there needed to be done something, i cant really see what the players has gained from it. If you're not a good or great player, you are now more prone to loose silver, unless you are in a premium tank with silver bonus, just like wwII, and you can not in same way earn for your losses in WWII, by playing CW, so more likely to spend real money. The MM in WWII, why? Just why dont they fix that? Because you're more likely to spend on a premium when you're tired of getting owned in your tier 8 vs tier X's maybe? I dont know. Apparently 10 years is a big deal for WG, just not for their players, i feel like 7 days of premium time as an reward is a little cheesy for players that has stuck with them for 10 whole years. Ofcause you can use real money and buy some WG chests, boosters ect and celebrate yourself 🤔 Rant over.
I used to play WoT back in the day on my 360 but like most people, when update 6.0 rolled out, it just made the game significantly worse in my opinion. The sound effects especially were hit the most. Blasting something with a KV-2 felt really meaty before, but then it just felt like hitting something with a pea shooter instead. Plus, it became way too 'pay to win' that made it thoroughly unenjoyable. Not touched the game since. Now I'm a Warframe player!
I've played wot console for 10 year's. But only play cold war now, i think it's more enjoyable than ww2. But I've noticed more ppl play ww2 mode. I hope they come over and try cold war.
Yeah can only play Cold War mode at specific hours as there just isn't enough of a playerbase to fill in the CW que at all hours. Otherwise, you'll be waiting for a long time for each CW battle.
Started in summer 2017. 40k games. 6.0 sucked in so many ways but I feel it has gotten incrementally better since then even though I hated True Vision or whatever it was called and don’t play Cold War (yet). WG has been good about the earn ops so I can’t complain other than they need to change some of the missions. They are stale. My biggest gripe is maps maps maps. We used to have 30+ and it was awesome. Yes it’s gotten better but I would be happy with WG bringing more maps back into the game than ridiculous tier 10s like the Avre. Also camos and equipment are stale. Why can’t they introduce new equipment like on PC? Overall I still enjoy the game and feel like it’s getting incrementally better. Eclipse can you ask them to put them tier 5 French Wolverine td on sale even if it’s in a bundle? I want that td. Thanks.
Hey Eclipse, nice content and Wargaming should REALLY look at it and make some adjustments. I've been here for about 10 years but stopped buying anything after 6.0, and to be honest, left the game for about 6 months. Just really turned me off on how they went about bringing in an entirely new game and screwing over the older player base. I've stated several times that this game could continue on for years if Wargaming would make some changes to help game play, and it wouldn't be too radical or hard to do from there end. 1. Combine CW with WWII, extend the lines. CW has been a flop, period, and only served to make silver. This way, players HAVE to grind the lines in order to get a top tier tank. They can learn to play as they go, since WG'ing provides NOTHING in way of a training tutorial. 2. MM...bro, this just rankles my ass every time I play. IN NO WAY should a vehicle TWO tiers lower be playing TWO tiers higher. Under NO circumstances. Your outgunned in every stat that matters, and it's very frustrating facing +2 KNOWING you will have to fire gold to pen, and hoping you can even then. If I have to play +2, at least rebalance so I can pen with AP rounds. 3. STOP selling anything over Tier XIII's and rebalance them like they used to be, a tad WORSE than the tech tree vehicles. Crew training and silver earning, which they do need to look at the economy, you should not be losing tons of silver playing a Tier VI having to fire gold against a Tier XIII just to be competitive. 4. Extend rewards during the season, once past Tier 100 add something at every 10 levels like camo vouchers, silver drops, boosters, etc...would make playing beyond that actually worth it and would keep people pushing forward. 5. Get artillery out of the game, it's nothing but a cancer. Or, bring it in at Tier XIII so you can have newer players at least understanding WHY they are getting hit by some clicker sitting in the rear drinking coffee and eating donuts.
Hi all, I’ve played WOT for about 8 years now and I noticed the game worsening when they added mercenary tanks. Since then it seems like most new premiums are auto loaders and there are less maps. The newer maps (like azure coast and Kaunas) are rubbish imo. I am also not a fan of the new calliope. I don’t like these alien features such as double barrel tanks and wheeled vehicles. Ultimately, these developments show you how desperate the devs are to bring new stuff out.
I was part of the beta back on the 360, played throughout its cycle on the 360. When it came out on the Xbox one with better graphics it was taking a step in the right direction. I used to watch the streamer Allelujah all the time through those days, but once they added the mercenary tanks, like Allelujah I stopped playing. Tbh looking back at it, it was all a waste of time and money, I miss the og WoT console days, like why is there modern tanks, they lost touch…

I honestly feel like the players have gotten more knowledgeable of weakspots but play more stupidly or no better than 9 years ago, still get teams making bad decisions on strategy i see lemming trains.
I've given this game about 14 years: 36,000 battles on PC, about half that on Console now through all tiers. I can reliably say that the quality of players/teams is what has hurt this game the most. There is little/no incentive still for players to actually get better. You can reach tier 10 without ever really learning even the basics of battles, sure it will take a lot longer but one will still get there. Tier 10 is definitely the worst in terms of reliably getting decent teams, which is a shame, because I love most of my tier 10 tanks and they ARE fun but consistent blowout losses just ruin it. They also ruined tier 10 with OP tier 10 lights but I'm not even gonna get into that. Just too frustrating. Anyway, I still play here and there but much of the joy I had years ago is dead. I mostly just do it out of habit now.
I have to agree with Nrgize1 a badge and some prem time after playing the game for 10 years was kind of a let down. I can remember being excited about the content that WG would introduce i.e. when they introduced the Russian tank line, and the new premium tanks like the Super Pershing. When I first started we could only get to Lowe or the T34. Now it really feels like pay to win with some of the premium content being released. I don't enjoy the game as much as I used to; especially when I have loss after loss. But getting one shot by a Taran or an AVRE.
Hey Eclipse. Good info video. I like to see and learn more about the game, tanks, tactik ect because I have only played this game for about a year now. I tryed it 6 years ago but only a few games. It was not for me that time. So I played armored warfare some years. But its very diffrent from this game i think. I like the season pass and contragt so I can get some premium tanks and perhaps good tanks. But I can see that im not ready for tier 9-10 yet. Its a little to hard. But I try some time just to try my tanks from seasons and contragt. Keep up the good work you do with the videos.😊
Always like/enjoy/appreciate yr videos and community support/input Eclipse.. You forgot to state; since 6.0 tier 7 can only play plus 2 minus 1 games, unlike tier 8 and 9, that play plus 2 minus 2. We went through many many a many! Updates/changes on the in-game wheel communication mechanic.. I/we were much happier with the module tree pre 6.0 and had not been so good since... I/many us hate OP FV4005's in CW more than ww2 and wiesal toes when they get undetected in quick a time when close circling us.. And as we previously suffered from to many light tanks on either side above 6 to 8 especially cw nowadays again... I ever hate poor balancing of tanks and maps that loose good layouts that result for in worse balancing favouring one side.. Still SO much to me improved. As ever I say E, I not care to swear unless compelled! Wargaming are cunts for addressing the communities concerns in very slow time now improving of game after 2 years onwards... And many concerns we now have with CW and again now with changes to cw silver earn rate.. For me I began grinding CW recently after playing CW just for silver since 6.0. With the current sharpshooter op at stage 8! we can only use tier 9 or 10 ww2 that do not have silver bonuses, but can use CW premium tanks that do have silver earn bonuses.. fk wg As mentioned a time ago to u I'm also been playing 9 years, and have still chosen to persevere as we both one time discussed; it could be good to give this game/WG time. I've played and supported (financially) this game for 10 years straight since the beta as many others have, and all I received for my loyalty was a year 10 badge to put on my tanks and a poultry 7 days of Premium. I feel the players who have been loyal to this game since it's release on console could have been given tier 10 premium as a thank you.
They outta hand out a year of premium or 25k gold and a premium tank of choice for the 10 year players.

I've stopped playing it. 24/4/24 is my 10 year badge day. I'm gonna wheel out my Iron Rain that day, play a battle, stick the badge on it and delete the game. I used to enjoy the game but it's just no fun anymore.

The biggest problem is people in tier 10 matches that never played above tier 6 until they got their "free" Season Pass tank. So many people have no idea how to play at higher tiers because they can just buy a high tier tank and the gameplay suffers because of it. Also, I think they need to buff the older tanks like the IS7 and T57 so they can compete against the power creep.
For sure the amount of T8 free premium tank players you spectate with 0 awareness is pretty hilarious and very frustrating at the same.

Also miss getting all my silver back for 10 gold while removing equipment.
I miss how I could stack equipment, now it forces me to sell one to put another on even if I just wanna examine how it affects the stats as an experiment cause I like to think of different setups but nah can't do it anymore.
I had seven crews (one for each nationality in the game at that time) and each Commander was maxed-out at 25 Skills/Perks. And then, Update 6.0 happened, and they were all gone... no prior warning, no heads-up, nothing... just gone! But WG so generously "replaced" those seven 25-Skill Commanders with seven 9-Skill Commanders. WG also took away my ability to respec my Commanders one Skill at a time for 10 Gold, and "replaced" that with the ability to respec all of my Commanders' 9 Skills for 90 Gold, with no option to simply change one Skill for 10 Gold. Lovely... just lovely.

Been playing since its launch on XBox 1 so nearly 9 years now. I still miss all the maps we had the most.
The graphical evolution of the game over these 10 years is undeniable, however, in terms of balance it is still well below expectations. Premium meta tanks still dominate most matches and explosive ammo also needs to be reworked. The mm is also another problem that needs to be reviewed, 3 minute 10/0 matches should not be recurrent.
Agree about the mm.Have lost count the number of times over the years Wargaming have claimed to be addressing it or trying to alter it for the better and yet here we are in 2024 and last week was in a battle of 3 tier 8's,4 tier 9's and 8 tier 10's.....and the game was over in 3 minutes.
I've been playing casually for a few weeks now (so far I've gotten to tier 7 in American heavy, t29 and all upgrades for it) and I've been enjoying it.
My only gripe is the matchmaking sometimes. I thoroughly enjoy the matches which are 6,7,8 and even the ones that are just 7 and 8. It's when those tier 9s start coming into play that fun leaves the equation for me. It's so annoying pelting someone with 10 ricochets just to have them smack me like a fly.
the +/- 2 MM has allways been a issue in this game. Unless your good enough to play tanks 2 up from you and still do ok it's just all bad. Im sure WG would drop it to +/-1 as there have been events in the past where this was a thing. But with the low player count it would slow the wait for games down and WG are super up themselves about quick que times so it wont happen. They would rather have fast bad games than people wait 2 mins for a better game.

I don´t think that MM is the issue. For example T29 is awesome tank if do you know how to play it and you can do a lot in game with 9s. There is a lot more damage what you can deal :):):).

@@thadude949 I am playing a while:). If you are playing T29, try to find hulldown position. Turret is quite strong, definatelly against tirer 7 abd 8. Tier 9 if they use gold amunition will penetrate you. You can sidescrap, but carefully fo over angleing. Alpha damage is nice. It is very good tank in overal, but WOT has changed in time, so t29 is not dominating so much now. Good luck in game bro...
I miss all the maps and weather condition variants we use to have . Eclipse check out the available Tanks in the War Chests. Some are the same in all 3 chests.
A bad thing about the game for new players is how shadey wargaming is on giving you options for paying for things with Gold that seasoned players know can be purchased with Silver. They need to remove the gold currency as an option for premium ammo, consumables, and equipment. If I was a new player and found out I was paying gold for things that silver can buy, I would get mad and stop playing the game.
Tried to get my brother into it. He had some gold but ended up using it on individual boosters. When I found out he spent all his gold on that garbage I was kicking myself for not telling him right away how valuable gold is and not to waste it. He got kinda pissed and I think that was the last time he played.
From a casual perspective the game is just too damn expensive to play. Without a premium account or tank it’s ridiculously hard to earn silver.
2000 gold for a season is the best way to get premium tanks. Theyve had some great tanks with high silver yield in the season give aways. Save up what you can to get one season purchased and it'll pay for the next one and then some. Premium time through the season and contracts. Don't finish the contract though. Sign a completely new contract after you get the premium time stage completed. Then go back and re-sign the original. Rinse and repeat. You can actually gain premium time faster than you can use it especially with the season and the season challenges thrown in.

I have premium tanks tho I’m just saying from a casual POV the people who aren’t daily players/willing to spend then game is too expensive. Expensive as in silver costs not irl money. Also you can sell any commanders you don't need for 250k silver per shot. And I totally agree with you. Without a premium account it's impossible to make any silver. Especially with the CW earnings nerf more and more people will see how difficult it actually is.
Can definitely earn silver on standard account and without a premium tank with tier 5/6 tanks. It's not as much but you CAN earn if you are doing well enough in the battles. The biggest issue is that it's not worth bothering with high tiers anymore due to the worst players mostly taking up space there.
10 year vet here. CW financed my WWII experience. With the recent drop on CW earn amounts, I started playing more with standard ammo in WWII, to save cash. On some tanks with the MM they can’t pen anything with standard ammo, using prem ammo costs a fortune which can no longer be recouped on CW. Result? I play a lot less and it pushes me towards tanks with high standard pens. No longer play the others. So that’s it… when my 400 mill silver runs out, I’m off 😂😂 Really, a shame they ruin tier X with ‘noobs and Avres’ and CW eras. The game is mighty, the economy… a joke. Doesn’t matter what I do in WWII I bleed money, can still go positive in CW but most games on there are lemming trains and I’m no longer earning enough to put up with that over and over again. Do a game or 2 now rather than 10’s of games.
I've been playing for almost 8 years. I'm one of those dad's that started playing with my son, and now he is off at college and doesn't ever play the game anymore. I still login and play everyday. The thing that set the game apart from other games for me was the fact that I was playing with and against 29 other real people. The game was more of a chess match back when it was new.
Modern era is designed more for the younger generation that enjoy fast pace gameplay with the reaction time being a large component of success.(i.e. Fortnite) I wish auto aim was removed for WWII to better appeal to the different generations of players.
Tell me about it I remember those long games on Mountain pass and bouncing shells in my E-100. It's all gone even some of the good old maps don't exist anymore.
Garage customisation, I think is pointless. For 99.9% of players and them giving rewards for it instead of boosters, silver. Consumables is sorta annoying
personally i think being able to collect things to customise your garage is a nice touch. Iv built clans and dojo's in other games and invested a lot into them. Although no one else will ever see my garage its nice to have momento's there to remind me.
I know collecting tanks is more the done thing but i have time in this game and way more tanks than i can play in a day. Its been years since i did ALL my x2's on every tank, so yeah a stone dragon or bug eyed cat statue is sound by me.
I have tooo many boosters anyway. Hundreds or even over a thousand of some.
6.0 killed the game and the player base big time be for 6.0 the game was so good You actually need to skill to actually be able to play The Game. Now it's basically just shoot and move And they made the commander skills a joke and I been playing The game Sense Beta and that was back on the xbox 360
As a new player (started about a week ago) i believe the one thing that makes this game horrible for me are 1. Op premiums that wreck ur game
2.+2-2 matchmaking. As an example im grinding the Is7 line rn and i have many times in a row fought fully upgraded is-3 in a stock kv85. Imo its absolutely bisarre how this mm is still a thing and it should be removed.
That’s how it’s been since the 360 days. So every person watching this video knows that + - 2 initial struggle. With experience you can find ways to still be useful even while under tiered.
I quit after 6.0. I put a bunch of time and money into the game. I look back now and see it was such a waste. Learned my lesson. I’ll never be back. Still watch videos etc but no desire to play at all.
Pre 6.0 is still better. Should have kept the pre 6.0 interface for WW2 and the new interface for Cold War but they probably didn't want to pay the programming costs.

Short answer is NO. Almost all games are blow outs . You get the season pass and don’t even get the premium account for the length of the season. The game is junk.

Yeah the game is just no fun anymore. Almost every game the strategy is bumper cars or race around the map and try and cap the opponents base first. Like you said most games are blowouts that only last about 4 minutes with one team stomping the other completely. 2/10 would not recommend and I’ve been playing since it originally dropped on xbox 360.
I stopped sweating this game around 2 years ago or so. I think it was before or just around cold war was out. For years it been addictive to me. Being part of a well known clan, doing clan tourmanents. I probably spent at least £2,000 on the game and helped me after my big motorcycle accident back in 2018 where I was left bed bound. so WoT was a good relieve and a good way to suddenly loose 8-12 hours of your day.
The premiums and merc tanks were okay for me . Tbh I mainly played for the historic real tanks. Didnt like playing solo and still dont when you get greens just going onto one side of the map straightaway and most of the time this lead to a loss for obvious reasons.
I maxed out most relevant tech lines for me ,ainly the US, German and Soviet tier lines and British TDs to get the Deathstar.
I still like playing the game now but some of the tanks now are stupidly OP or Nerfed to hell. Pretty much is worthless playing if you dont have premium account as hard to earn money besides from the challenges.
Mt best moments is rocking a nice german heavy and get like 5-10K block in a tier 8-10 battle and not just with the Maus.

I think the thing that “soured” me the most was update 6.0, and how I worked so hard to get 15 crew skills; and WG deleted them, and made only 9 crew skills.
This action by Wargaming sent my tanking career in to a 2 year hiatus.
I do play the game again, however I feel the game has lost something that it had, prior to update 6.0. 💯👍
So, back then, Xbox only offered 15 Skills to max-out a Commander? 🤔 I noticed that Eclipse also mentioned that in this video.
I've always played on PS, and back before the infamous Update 6.0 happened, I had seven crews (one for each nationality in the game at the time) who were maxed-out at 25 Skills each! I'm guessing it was just a difference between the two platforms.
But, at any rate, just as you lost all of your 15-Skill Commanders, I lost all of my 25-Skill Commanders when 6.0 hit.
(Of course, WG "replaced" them with 9-Skill Commanders!) 🤷🤬🤦

I have played this game almost exclusively for the last 9.5 years. Two months ago I let my premium time lapse. Two weeks ago I stopped playing altogether. I enjoy the game, but I feel like it has had its 'hooks' in me for too long.

Played for almost ten years I think. I no longer spend any money on this game and I only have periods where I play it for a few months at a time with maybe a couple of months in between
Biggest issue is the influx of op or game breaking premium tanks that are being handed out to everybody or you can just go buy a op tier 10 even if you have played zero games. It takes away all feeling of being rewarded for putting in the effort to grind up to a tech tier ten, especially given that the prem tanks are more then often better then their tech tree counterparts, the season challenges are also just about playing a lot, not completing a difficult challenge to get a unique premium tank that not everyone and their mother has, and of course it really messes up any level of balance to the games
Map balcance and rotation are also still bad. It takes them years to redo a map and it comes back with HORRIBLE hit boxes on walls rocks etc, and they leave busted up maps unchanged for years with huge invicible walls ruining postitions. I told Max Chaos about some broken positions on a previous version of redshire years ago and he had no clue about it and wanted me to send video to do their job for them
Of course there is diot tank balancing outside the "better then tech tree premium" balancing, like buffing artillery when most player agreed they wanted them nerfed. Also I do not trust rng to be random anymore after they got busted rigging rng in favor of new players i secret.
Rng is why I don’t take the game seriously at all, I’ve played 9 years and it’s so obvious to those who take the time and pay attention. It’s only gotten worse. I’ve taken account of first hit results and out of 20 hits I received 17 were ammo racks, that’s not random, that’s called fixing and it’s pathetic. Several years ago if I got ammo racked once or twice a session it made sense, now it’s just programming bias.

Very good points you make.I also feel the feeling of reward and acheivement grinding up the tech tree line is gone.Even when you do it seems pointless as many of thetech tt tanks that were once fun and good to battle in seems useless in today's game.Point about maps is also spot on.Not only do we have less of them,but the ones they have re-introduced now have areas that were once accessible now no longer so which results in corridor style of play and boring,stale predictable gameplay.The gameplay is terrible these days and i think a big factor of that is down to Wargaming.I think they've deliberately did this to maps to create a scenario where everyone is just mindlessly firing at each other in their tier ten premiums.

They also need to combine the ww2 and modern eras together in tiers 1-say 14 and they can just add more tiers. This way they would get more players playing modern because right now I just sell the modern war tanks because I don’t play it because I prefer the ww2 tanks
There's definitely a lot of improvements that made the game better but also miss some of the other stuff we used to have thinking about year 5-6 we were at the peak options and gameplay and now it's just how do we make this faster so people play more games and bringing out broken things that are overpowering shifting the balance to pay to win rather than skill and practice

As far as if this game is worth playing V's Back in the day. It used to be a more strategic game, slower paced but if you made a mistake it was normally punished. Now its faster moving, more run and gun, like a slower version of CoD. Weak points are a thing of the past, so to a great degree is aiming. The skill needed has gone from knowledge of tanks and maps to driving round in circles with the auto aim on, sticking with the group as lone players soon get wolf packed and taken out.
This game suits people who want to play CoD but are rubbish at it. People who need auto aim and to be able to get shot a few times and run away and hide.
I stopped playing WoT a few years ago as i seen where it was going. After returning in Dec to see how it was i doubt i'll stay much longer. Maybe i'll just be a dirty casual. I can see WG has tried to appeal to more people by dumbing the game down, but tbh it don't seem to have worked as player numbers are pants. The game seems to be dying. Less servers (4 down to 2) for both XB and PS is not a good omen. Was it 4? I know there was EU NAE and NAW but was there a Aisa Aus server? Maybe im getting confused with PC or another tank game?
I like that they give a lot of stuff away but tbh the good stuff, good tanks are way overpriced so cheep boosters and better graphics just dont cut it. Tier 10 prems are another bad cash grab idea. That AVRE durp thing is a dumb thing to sell. Not because its "broken". Threre have allways been broken tanks (6 shot waffle and deathstar for example) but they were techtree not just dumped on the MM.
I miss the old style game play. I miss clan wars and all that shizzle. But thats all gone as far as i can tell. The game has decended into a clown car s**t show thats ok for a giggle now and then, but it sure as hell aint worth getting sweaty over anymore.

I agree with most of what you said, especially regarding the style of gameplay these days... I friggin' *hate* auto-aim! What a damn joke! Map knowledge, an understanding of game mechanics, rudimentary battle tactics, and skill have been replaced by the "yolo around like a mentally-challenged hummingbird until you spot a target, and then just run in a circle, finger holding down the trigger button, with auto-aim engaged" mentality. Disgusting!
Personally, I've only tried auto-aim *once* and it was enough to convince me that it was an "idiot switch" for knuckle-dragging Darwinian nightmares who can't play the damn game without it!
So, I'm with you on that!
But, the AVRE was an actual vehicle in real life, in service for 50 years, and it was a beast. It wasn't even classified as a "tank," per se, but instead was considered a "demolition vehicle," used to destroy and remove things like hardened bunkers and other reinforced emplacements, hence the devastating 165mm gun and the bulldozer blade.
I don't mind historical vehicles in the game (even the "derpy" ones) and I greatly prefer them to the ridiculous "Frankentanks" (or "Tankensteins") that WG keep inventing out of their clueless imagination!

@@badczech8485 I'm with you on the historical vehicles. But its a balance and game play issue for me. WG has no problem bringing in wheeled vehicles or tanks with twin main guns and playing with stats till it suits them, reguardless of historical accuraty or common sence. For example wheeled scout cars should have much better camo and view range than they do but that would be op so nope.
Similar thing with the AVRE, like you pointed out it's not classed as a tank, so should it be in the game? I dunno.. But im ok with it anyway. What im not happy about is it being like the fv4005 but without the massive side of a barn weak point and sold as a prem. If the fv was overnight given a slightly worse gun, a propper turret and great frontal armour then sold as a prem i think that'd be bad.
I'm not against AVRE's, in fact i'm for it.. But balanced. I am against op OR top tier prems. I understand WG has to make dollar but i'd rather they sold balanced fun tanks than broken or just ridiculous tanks with a massive spider for a turret etc.
But i guess pay to win is easier to market than fun is in a game these days. Unfortunately cashing in is bad for the long turm health of the game. The whales will be happy with there new toys every month or so but if thats the price of fun then all the little fish will swim away and the whales will get bored of durping each other then its game over for WoT.

And believe me, I get it: It's a bit of a walk on a tightrope to produce a game that "has it all" for every level of player experience and skill level, as well as for every play style. And, as when walking a tightrope, the key when producing a game is balance. WG apparently either doesn't comprehend this, or simply doesn't care.
I understand that a business needs to make a profit, or they will soon be out of business. But, a company that too often and for far too long puts their own profits above their customers' satisfaction, is a company doomed to failure.
Business Theory 101: "Give the people what they want at a price they're willing to pay, and they'll become loyal cash-paying customers, and you'll become very successful."
But if you kill the goose who always lays a golden egg every day just because you're in a hurry to have a bunch of golden eggs today... well, there won't be any golden eggs tomorrow.
WOTC is WG's intellectual property; they own the game, and are free to do with it whatever they please. But, it seems that they are putting short-term profits over long-term consistency and sustainability, which, if continued, will eventually drive away even the most devoted of their player base, and that would kill the game.
So, yeah, I agree with you: Balance is the key in developing vehicles for the game, and an endless string of totally OP, high-tiered, Premiums that anybody (regardless of experience level or playing ability) can just buy, does nothing but appease a few whales and alienate all of the little fish who only wanted to play for fun without going bankrupt!

I used to be a daily player of the game back before the big update and I was even playing it when it was on the Xbox 360. Honestly, I’ve tried the new update and I personally dislike it. Tanks feel weird to drive and the game feels like I’m playing armored warfare. Which was a game that failed. Also, I think there’s way too many tanks in the game and especially premium tanks. I stop playing the game after a couple of months of the new update and I haven’t played it since
6.0 ruined the game. I had crews i grinded with for years and had top tier crews and they slashed them to only have somewhere around 9 perks I think. Thank you for punishing your loyal players. And this 80’s style of “futuristic” game hud with all of these unnecessary noises take you completely out of a game that was about classic tanks. Wish all the best to the new players and veteran players that love it. I always come back every year with crossed fingers hoping they fixed it. So far, no dice
I tried the game years ago for about an hour, downloaded it again yesterday and am completely confused as it put me in without any kind of tutorial. Having a lot of fun playing games but no idea what i am doing. i get the feeling i will need to put some time into watching videos to get a basic grasp of how to actually play properly
I've played since the games introudction and still play on a semi regular basis.
Nostalgia definitely skews my view on the modern game, and I wish I was coming into the game as a new player.
Although a massive grind, going through all of the tech trees for the first time was such an incredible feeling. Something that I can no longer experience, having unlocked after tech tree line minus the pigs and CW tanks.
As a 'free' game, it is one I will always recommend to friends and strangers alike.
Another thing I’ve noticed my friends as well playing matches that were pretty much sweeps like having 3 or 4 good matches and losing the next 8-10 matches how do you explain that? Or firing well aimed shots that should have hit or done damage even premium rounds and either miss or bounce

What a novel idea for a video! I really enjoyed listening to your thoughts about the game itself and its development through the years.
I've been playing continuously (literally every day except for 3 days while I was in the hospital) for 6 1/2 years now, completing nearly 58,000 battles to date.
Do I think that WOTC is still worth playing? Absolutely!
I consider myself very fortunate in that I have both the time and the financial means to do pretty much as I please, especially at the ripe old age of 73. But I feel even more blessed that I am still both physically and cognitively able to even play a game like this! Most folks who I know personally at my age are in serious physical and mental decline and (if they're able to think at all) are consumed by thoughts of death, and the idea of "playing games" is beyond their comprehension and/or ability.
Is WOTC "perfect?" Hell, no! But, I consider it absurd to expect "perfection" in *anything* in life!
My point is this: People have a free-will choice either to play the game or to not play the game. Like the game? Play the game! Don't like the game? Don't play the game! But perpetually pissing and moaning about the game is a bit like bitching about the weather: No matter what the weather is like, some folks are going to like it, and others are going to hate it... but there's not a lot that anyone can actually *do* about it!
So, rather than cursing the rain, buy a damn umbrella and shut the hell up!

I have bin playing for almost a year now. And i can say i enjoy it more everyday! The more you play the better you get and once you hit a certain level its really fun and challenging!
Sure there are games where you either screw up yourself or get screwed up by one of those massive td’s or that one particular english medium. But that is not as common as people complain about once you reach a decent level of skill , map knowledge and have some decent tanks especially heavy tanks with armor and extra hitpoints that can take a beating.
And those that complain and are very skilled they are mostly stats addicts and well for those people that are so tangled up in their numbers nothing or no one can do good for them. Because one unlucky moment can mess up there day and then they complain. I get it its not fun if you play for winrate and a taran blowns your ammorack early game without it being spotted. But well that part of the game and you are probably more then good enough to make up for it so chill out and have fun instead of complaining.

Ya, nine years in here, maybe a little something worthwhile for the players that have stuck it out for 8, 9, 10 yrs.
I played this game religiously when It first came to console I loved it, I've put so many hours into it then 6.0 happened and completely ruined everything I worked so hard to get. I have been back on a few times thinking that its not that bad and I play a match and it is that bad. New players will probably never understand and think I'm just complaining but there were so many good moments before that one update. I think now I have completely laid the game to rest which is a shame because I would do anything to play before 6.0 again.
Funny, I updated and logged in for the first time since before the cold war tanks. My garage is a mess, my crews are a mess. To be honest after futsing with it for 15 minutes I gave up and turned if off. I guess I'm officially retired from WOT Console now? This was during the Christmas holiday and I saw that I had to pay to decorate my garage? That was odd. I have no idea how to assign skills back to my crews (if I even can) and it seems clunky to put the correct commander in the correct tank. I was an original beta tester and played for years. To log back in and find the game this dramatically different is kinda of disappointing really.
Just want to add my two cents for those that complain about new players using Tier X , I believe you guys are missing the feast that you use to have in previous years. If you noticed you get eaten by higher tiers when you advance the tech trees . Is literally frustrating, wen you get only destroyers and heavies , I dont think by that many new players but the ones who have been playing for a while that to me equals a feast at the expense of new players. Just saying. Maybe keeep the tiers X to go no less than IX . That migth seem a little more fair .
The training bot feature is also helpful with a brand new tank or a capability you’ve got no experience with like guided missiles or artillery.
As a new player on Xbox I can’t understand how to use a bonus I keep getting. It’s a 200% xp boost. I see the other boosts 1.75 2 4 6 etc in the tanks but these others I can’t work out where they are. Can anyone help please.

I've played this game for just over 9 years and I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that this game is absolutely not worth playing anymore. The game's balance is the worst it's ever been and the horrific YOLO meta has just completely ruined the standard of gameplay now. The community is a pathetic shadow of its former self, with most of the game's experienced players now gone and previously valuable community channels (i.e. the forums) now defunct. The game feels like it simply has no direction now.
6.0's effects can still be felt even today. The game IS "playable", but it is far, far less enjoyable than it used to be. To be honest, it's more rage-inducing now than anything. I've reached a point where I've accepted that this game's days are numbered and pretty much nothing that Wargaming does will be able to repair the damage they have done since 6.0 and Cold War came out.
It's bad enough that we have barely a third of what our community used to be ... now it's divided between two hostile camps - those that only support the true World of Tanks in WW2 and those who support WGCB's bastard lovechild in Cold War.
How anyone can still say that this game is still enjoyable to play is beyond me.

I find the TANKS themselves enjoyable, but not the playerbase and broken tier 10 matches of how MM stacks one team compared to another in terms of quality of players.

They could at least throw the tech tree grinders a small bone by taking away the xp bonus so we can get MVP or just plain and simple place higher when we do better than a premie baby tank thats already buffed to be better.
Skill should be rewarded better than pay to play regardless of money spent. Better yet bundle all the premie tanks under dlc packs I’m not buying a 50 dollar premium tank to be outmatched half the time. I’d consider buying 20+ tanks for 50 bucks though.
I have been playing WoT on PC for around 10 years now and I recently switched to Console version. You guys get so much more love here than PC, I think I'll bever go back to playing there
I'm playing for 7 years, in my opinion, WG should pay more attention to the cannon sounds, they are really poor,, for both sniper mode and outside the tank. Things like shell explosion and impact, should be more agressive. Engine smoke are quite a concern too. Well, that's my point guys. GG
I really don't know if it's better or worse now. Do miss war stories, shared modules, long earn ops and big pool maps with small changes to them. On the other hand, easier contracts to complete, easier ways of getting premiums tanks, cw vehicles and buffs to some tanks and lines that needed it. Still wish could nerfs very overpowered tanks like avre and taran and stop putting in autoloading premiums so much. Try team balance so each teams has equal autoloading spread
When 6.0 was first released it was buggy and missing features that we previously had, but they now have fixed. And that they have added some we didn’t have before hand aswell
I didn’t like the new ui and I REALLY didn’t like them obliterating my hard earned crews. My friend group all quit about then because of that update. Im checking back now and it seems like those main issues haven’t been “fixed” unfortunately. The ui is just preference and bugs can be fixed but the crews were the main issue.

I have my 8 year badge but stopped playing just before mercenary's release then came back in time to get the 292 era 3 season reward tank.
I like the whole cold war setup for game play (true vision and no arty) but miss the days when you got to top tier you played players that earned it with tier 8 being the best you could buy.
Now days it's just pointless to play a tech tree tank since the premium tanks out class there tier or era (t9 / t10 / era 1-3) very few tech tree tanks are competitive now days.
The gi joe, Warhammer, and wisel tow Have made cold war era 2 and 3 a joke ATM.
Era 1 is as balanced as you can get. You can take out a premium T95E3 or E2 with the FV 105 pretty easy if you catch em by themselves. Same with the "overpowered" 4005...
I stopped playing WOT soon after 6.0 dropped but have played a few games in the last 2 weeks. WOT was a tactical game where knowing the strengths and weaknesses of different tanks was the most important element in success. Now it is an arcade game. However it is now much better than when 6.0 first dropped. IMO it is now back to perhaps 70% as good as it was before 6.0 dropped and I will continue to play it occasionally for a change. I can't agree that it is now better than before 6.0, much less about player skill now.
I Ohnastaly would like to see more tank lines added to ww2. Like I would love to see the new Japanese heavies with the hydronuematic suspension/gun stabilizer mechanics added to the game and maybe the Stb 1 also getting the hydronuematic suspension like its pc counterpart as we'll as the British wheeled mediums/the new polish TD line
and the new czech light tanks added that are coming to wot pc and maybe the other Chinese heavy line. I would also like bushes to be fixed as well as more variety to the equipment system. Like something more like how pc has bond or (bonty equipment),fields mods, and incentive perks I would like to see added or something similar to it. I also like the idea of two load outs that pc has. Generally I think their could be more variety to our equipment, much like wot pc and blitz have.
Been playing since 360 days (remember when Chaffee fought tier 10?) but I’ve taken a long break ever since they released the first major graphics change. Really want to get back into it as I am sick of shooters of this point

I love it. It’s very fun but some tanks are super op but that’s within any game so not too much of a problem
The bug i deal with is that sometimes in the middle of a battle, my tank will lose functions entirely. Can't move the tank, but can rotate the turret but can't fire. Not sure what causes that. I disliked the older crew skill system. I can understand the issue with high skilled crew suddenly being only one commander, all that effort gone. Training is a good thing now, but i agree on the OP tanks.
Do you get the spinning tracks when sitting still aswell? I get all that from time to time and have done for years. As best i can tell its due a disconnect with the game server. Sometime i'll get booted and have to restart but it can fix its self. Check your LAN cable etc and i hope this helped.
Since Downgrade 6.0 WG have struggled with just about everything. In many ways it is similar to Blizzards path with WOW. So many little things that either didn't need changing or do need changing. To many to list here. So is it worth a players time in 2024? Yes and No. Is it worth spending real money? No.
Old world of tanks is better. They messed up the crew system, UI, and sound effects. Not fond of what they did to update the game.
New to game and console too actually. Think it’s pretty fun but the learning curve takes a while and trying to decide which line of tanks I want to try is also quite challenging. The pay to upgrade option seems a bit suspect but I’m enjoying it. World war 2 seems like my favourite and I got my first hate mail from other players for being a noob . Which I thought was funny but don’t respond to hate lol

The game is fubar right now. Reducing the amount of team mates you can play with was the worst thing to happen. Reducing it split clans to where they now try to count themselves into the same server. Also game macanics have suffered (example) The Weasel tow has completely stopped our clan playing era three. The fact that a light tank physically bounces off a 70 tonne tank when rammed is in my book total BS. You wouldn't see a Mini bounce off a Rolls Royce. They should also have actual top speed introduced to all tank types, this would make the game more tactical. But all Wargaming are interested in is money. Also the amount of times I've been harassed by Russians because I fly the Ukrainian flag on all my tanks (Even though I'm irish) is unreal. I thought Russians had their own servers, which was ment to be run by a different company. And Good luck getting a ban on them. Enjoy the content you produce. I'm 10 years in. Gg
I started on ps5 like 3 days ago. The training was interesting and I was able to get multiple tank at the beginning. I'm at the 3rd day and I have no idea why but I have 0 silver and each game a play I get 0 silver. I also notice that now I get killed almost instantly when I encounter my first enemy player. No idea what I'm doing wrong but yeah 3 days an I'm already annoyed with the game
World of tanks from a technological standpoint is far superior from what it used to be, but powercreep of all tiers and now "Eras" in cold war make the game far less enjoyable.

That obj 477 in Era 3 is absolute bullsht. One 477 can turn the tide of an entire game, especially when huddled in with half their team. I usually turn my ass around and go the other way and save it for last. The last tanks in every game is a weasel or a 477. That should say something. They ruined Era 3.

I would play it again if the playerbase would be bigger. Was hard to find games at times in the EU.
I’ve been playing since the Xbox 360 and yes there’s things that need improvement graphically monetization and even match making which is a joke op tanks I still enjoy it my friends play new maps needed there’s a difference between console and pc new players don’t need skill when playing an op premium tank😂
After the Chinese update and the Cold War update I can’t play anymore. It’s complete garbage. I’ve spent close to 2,000$ over the years and I’ll happily say the game isn’t in my Xbox

I play this game since it came out on playstation and update 6.0 was not the wrong way but also not the best befor 6.0 and the cross play with xbox only playstation was betwen 30-40k players now with cross play we have on a good day 20k and the crew sistem is ok but realy 9 perks 12 would be the best option in remember 25 was the max befor and the grind was the hell i lost 8 over lvl 20
What they did with the hud and such is absolutely awful I miss the way it used to be to look when it didn’t look like armored warfare

6.0 and Cold War kept me playing. A training field/ target range to take try out a new tank would be nice for new players and veterans. Graphically, this game is falling behind other f2p/multiplayer games. The tanks could be more detailed, and the rendering distance on small to medium objects isn't impressive.
I honestly miss the old days, right around the time of war stories and when they were making the comics, those were good days, but now it just feels way too fast and like mobile game knock off
I jumped back in last week, was alot of fun. Had some time by myself, just testing some of my old tanks, reliving some of my memories. I was very surprised at how many people just snapshot, they don't even aim, and plus to add onto that, just sling premium every shot they fire. Got my 10 year badge at the start of the year.. So, I like to think I know a bit lol
And! To add on, just how many weird tanks they've added, for instance.. The Ruthless, that was the whole thing about owning a Death Star or a Shit Barn, you were able to use that 183mm gun, tanks like the Ruthless pretty much set tanks like the Death Star aside, why get the Death Star when you can get a tank thats faster, has more armour, and has the same gun. It just disappointed me I guess. Anyway, that's my opinion, it's still alot of fun.
The game is still fun they just have to nerf a lot of the op premium tanks they release. Idc if they have to give players refunds it ruining the game as well as making the gaming boring. I have been playing since it came out and I believe it has a chance to be good but not how it is now.
just buffing the hell outta the tech tree tanks would do the same thing and no need to give any refunds as the prems would remain untouched.

They own the game; it is their intellectual property; they own all the rights to it; and we play with the understanding of that situation. (It's specifically stated in that long, boring "Terms and Conditions Agreement" that none of us bothered to read, but that all of us acknowledged and accepted.)

My 10'th anniversary comming up in a few days, and yeah the game has certainly seen some changes in that time, both good and bad. Imo WG are taking a more "moneygrab" stance as of lately, dishing out "some" op tier X/Era 3 premium tanks through the season passes, and the free earn op reward is a tier 3 or 6 for example. I know WG has to make money and i know it costs money to run this game, but where are the new/old maps? Im guessing they are not being prioritised, because they don't make money. The new CW changes? As i agreed there needed to be done something, i cant really see what the players has gained from it. If you're not a good or great player, you are now more prone to loose silver, unless you are in a premium tank with silver bonus, just like wwII, and you can not in same way earn for your losses in WWII, by playing CW, so more likely to spend real money. The MM in WWII, why? Just why dont they fix that? Because you're more likely to spend on a premium when you're tired of getting owned in your tier 8 vs tier X's maybe? I dont know. Apparently 10 years is a big deal for WG, just not for their players, i feel like 7 days of premium time as an reward is a little cheesy for players that has stuck with them for 10 whole years. Ofcause you can use real money and buy some WG chests, boosters ect and celebrate yourself 🤔 Rant over.
They need to bring back more perks for commanders or at least give us crews

I used to play WoT back in the day on my 360 but like most people, when update 6.0 rolled out, it just made the game significantly worse in my opinion. The sound effects especially were hit the most. Blasting something with a KV-2 felt really meaty before, but then it just felt like hitting something with a pea shooter instead. Plus, it became way too 'pay to win' that made it thoroughly unenjoyable. Not touched the game since. Now I'm a Warframe player!
Tell WG to add crews or give us back the skills for the commanders all of them or crews to add more skills to prepare us for pc platforms
I've played wot console for 10 year's. But only play cold war now, i think it's more enjoyable than ww2. But I've noticed more ppl play ww2 mode. I hope they come over and try cold war.
Yeah can only play Cold War mode at specific hours as there just isn't enough of a playerbase to fill in the CW que at all hours. Otherwise, you'll be waiting for a long time for each CW battle.
Started in summer 2017. 40k games. 6.0 sucked in so many ways but I feel it has gotten incrementally better since then even though I hated True Vision or whatever it was called and don’t play Cold War (yet). WG has been good about the earn ops so I can’t complain other than they need to change some of the missions. They are stale. My biggest gripe is maps maps maps. We used to have 30+ and it was awesome. Yes it’s gotten better but I would be happy with WG bringing more maps back into the game than ridiculous tier 10s like the Avre. Also camos and equipment are stale. Why can’t they introduce new equipment like on PC?
Overall I still enjoy the game and feel like it’s getting incrementally better.

Hey Eclipse, nice content and Wargaming should REALLY look at it and make some adjustments. I've been here for about 10 years but stopped buying anything after 6.0, and to be honest, left the game for about 6 months. Just really turned me off on how they went about bringing in an entirely new game and screwing over the older player base.
I've stated several times that this game could continue on for years if Wargaming would make some changes to help game play, and it wouldn't be too radical or hard to do from there end.
1. Combine CW with WWII, extend the lines. CW has been a flop, period, and only served to make silver. This way, players HAVE to grind the lines in order to get a top tier tank. They can learn to play as they go, since WG'ing provides NOTHING in way of a training tutorial.
2. MM...bro, this just rankles my ass every time I play. IN NO WAY should a vehicle TWO tiers lower be playing TWO tiers higher. Under NO circumstances. Your outgunned in every stat that matters, and it's very frustrating facing +2 KNOWING you will have to fire gold to pen, and hoping you can even then. If I have to play +2, at least rebalance so I can pen with AP rounds.
3. STOP selling anything over Tier XIII's and rebalance them like they used to be, a tad WORSE than the tech tree vehicles. Crew training and silver earning, which they do need to look at the economy, you should not be losing tons of silver playing a Tier VI having to fire gold against a Tier XIII just to be competitive.
4. Extend rewards during the season, once past Tier 100 add something at every 10 levels like camo vouchers, silver drops, boosters, etc...would make playing beyond that actually worth it and would keep people pushing forward.
5. Get artillery out of the game, it's nothing but a cancer. Or, bring it in at Tier XIII so you can have newer players at least understanding WHY they are getting hit by some clicker sitting in the rear drinking coffee and eating donuts.
Is it worth? No! Is ist fun? Sometimes, getting less and less nowadays because of all those lemming trailer noobs, especially in CW.

I’ve played WOT for about 8 years now and I noticed the game worsening when they added mercenary tanks. Since then it seems like most new premiums are auto loaders and there are less maps. The newer maps (like azure coast and Kaunas) are rubbish imo. I am also not a fan of the new calliope. I don’t like these alien features such as double barrel tanks and wheeled vehicles.
Ultimately, these developments show you how desperate the devs are to bring new stuff out.
I was part of the beta back on the 360, played throughout its cycle on the 360. When it came out on the Xbox one with better graphics it was taking a step in the right direction. I used to watch the streamer Allelujah all the time through those days, but once they added the mercenary tanks, like Allelujah I stopped playing. Tbh looking back at it, it was all a waste of time and money, I miss the og WoT console days, like why is there modern tanks, they lost touch…

I honestly feel like the players have gotten more knowledgeable of weakspots but play more stupidly or no better than 9 years ago, still get teams making bad decisions on strategy i see lemming trains.
This game is not balanced. Why tier 8 play against tier 10.
The pc version the games might last 5 mins if your lucky. Console era 3 is joke .tier 5and 6 are still fun

I've given this game about 14 years: 36,000 battles on PC, about half that on Console now through all tiers. I can reliably say that the quality of players/teams is what has hurt this game the most. There is little/no incentive still for players to actually get better. You can reach tier 10 without ever really learning even the basics of battles, sure it will take a lot longer but one will still get there. Tier 10 is definitely the worst in terms of reliably getting decent teams, which is a shame, because I love most of my tier 10 tanks and they ARE fun but consistent blowout losses just ruin it. They also ruined tier 10 with OP tier 10 lights but I'm not even gonna get into that. Just too frustrating. Anyway, I still play here and there but much of the joy I had years ago is dead. I mostly just do it out of habit now.
I have to agree with Nrgize1 a badge and some prem time after playing the game for 10 years was kind of a let down. I can remember being excited about the content that WG would introduce i.e. when they introduced the Russian tank line, and the new premium tanks like the Super Pershing. When I first started we could only get to Lowe or the T34. Now it really feels like pay to win with some of the premium content being released. I don't enjoy the game as much as I used to; especially when I have loss after loss. But getting one shot by a Taran or an AVRE.
We got the Mtb-b for playing for over 7+ years for free this year as well. So all OG played got a tank that regularly costed around 22k gold
Hey Eclipse. Good info video. I like to see and learn more about the game, tanks, tactik ect because I have only played this game for about a year now. I tryed it 6 years ago but only a few games. It was not for me that time. So I played armored warfare some years. But its very diffrent from this game i think. I like the season pass and contragt so I can get some premium tanks and perhaps good tanks. But I can see that im not ready for tier 9-10 yet. Its a little to hard. But I try some time just to try my tanks from seasons and contragt.

You forgot to state; since 6.0 tier 7 can only play plus 2 minus 1 games, unlike tier 8 and 9, that play plus 2 minus 2. We went through many many a many! Updates/changes on the in-game wheel communication mechanic.. I/we were much happier with the module tree pre 6.0 and had not been so good since...
I/many us hate OP FV4005's in CW more than ww2 and wiesal toes when they get undetected in quick a time when close circling us.. And as we previously suffered from to many light tanks on either side above 6 to 8 especially cw nowadays again...
I ever hate poor balancing of tanks and maps that loose good layouts that result for in worse balancing favouring one side.. Still SO much to me improved.
As ever I say E, I not care to swear unless compelled! Wargaming are cunts for addressing the communities concerns in very slow time now improving of game after 2 years onwards... And many concerns we now have with CW and again now with changes to cw silver earn rate..
For me I began grinding CW recently after playing CW just for silver since 6.0. With the current sharpshooter op at stage 8! we can only use tier 9 or 10 ww2 that do not have silver bonuses, but can use CW premium tanks that do have silver earn bonuses.. fk wg
