    Minor frustrations to the very end, but as you keep saying it is not your truck, Now you can go do things entirely to your liking ones you do own. Hooray!!

    The phrase "How you do anything , is how you do everything" is pure gold.
    Your work ethic and process are without flaw. People with lesser comprehension will never understand the reasons behind the calculations, methodical material/ fabrication choices and pre planning for multiple deviations that can and will arise. You can explain it, draw complex or simple diagrams .... to no avail. They only see things they don't understand ... so to them it's a waste of time. Keep being "You", There are many that share your logical thought process and we have to work by "our" standards first and foremost. Respect to you ! Thank you for this insightful and very intriguing video series ! I enjoyed every minute of it !!!
    I have no involvement with "large" trucks at all. That being said, the employment field of a person doesn't matter .
    It is work ethic, experience and knowledge that one applies at it, that will always lead to successful results (such as yours) . I have a life long history in solving others problems with designs , fabrication , application and functions ... once an for all. I believe in the right way once, beats the wrong way 3 times. My last 11 years as the senior fabrication and design technician at an established Pharmaceutical company, until becoming fully disabled last year.

      how you do anything is how you do everything.....that is what my dad and grandad use to say when they saw less than stellar work. sorry to hear about your becoming disabled. i often worry about that myself. i dont know what i would do if my ability to work on things was taken away from me.

      Prayers for Jeffrey first off 🙏🙏
      I agree with you on the tail light setup up but hey it works and you can't see it from you're house and ain't nobody gonna notice them until after the headlights get lowered which Mr. Halfass probably won't ever do so ya whatever.... It sucks putting all the nice work into it and then it not getting finished but it is what it is and at least its gone and you can move forward with other things ! Looking forward to see whats next 👍

      Losing the ability to work on trucks, autos etc is hard but some people like myself still as best we can although it hurts us physically. Sitting around doing nothing is worse than dying as I see it. I was crushed by a skid loader! Thanks for the awesome videos. Your wife is awesome as well. Very lucky people to have each other.

    Amazing work J.C. I know it was a long time coming and the truck fought you every single step of the way but the quality of work really shows through. It shows that you really care about your work no matter if it’s for you or someone else. I’m of the opinion that your friend is really blessed to have you in his life. It’ll last him for many years to come (if he treats it well). Congrats again on another project checked off the list and a job well done sir.

    I hope this is the last of the truck for you. It has fought you all the way. All through this series ofhte rebuild, I was thinking "Wouldnt it be cheaper for the owner to buy another tanker" ? I hope you made good on it.
    As I said on another channel, "An old sign I saw in a mechanics garage back in the 1970's said 'We can do the impossible, miracles take a little longer".
    This is one miracle that fought you and you won. Well done.

    I have been watching you for quite a while now and i am glad to see someone who actually does wiring right , you explain what you are doing and why you do it that way ,,on top of all the other stuff i like about how you build stuff , the little details like soldering wires together makes a difference ,, guys that use butt splice crimp connectors don't understand that yes they work but they aren't for permanent repairs especially on outside wiring ,,i've gradually gotten to where i am now repairing wiring properly the way you are doing it ,, takes more time but the results are longer lasting with less frustration in the future

    • @j.c.smithprojects
      @j.c.smithprojects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i started soldering, deox and heat shrink after removing so many failed crimp connectors. once they fail, moisture wicks up the wire and corrodes. i ended up having to replace more wire because of it.

      @@j.c.smithprojects yep and iowa is as bad as Ohio about RUST and Corrosion due to the road salt ,,i learned a lot of automotive wiring when i was in school 30 years ago and even my teachers hated crimp connectors back then ,,one thing i started doing when i build a truck or trailer is using a junction box to connect the wiring ,,every light has it's own ground and a pigtail going to the box ,,and the negative box terminal has a direct ground to the battery negative terminal helping to eliminate screwy chassis grounds ,,i've been frustrated by too many trucks with fubarred messed up wiring

    Yeah J.C. I'm 100% with you about that whole bus bumper/ light setup. The whole truck looks fantastic and then the owner wanted to use that stuff. Don't get me wrong, I am a firm believer in re-purposing material whenever it's suitable, but that felt like a kick in the nads... Great work as always though J.C.!! Love your attention to detail and your drive to get these trucks/ projects the safest and best they can be. It's refreshing with all the deathtrap looking piles of garbage rolling around on the roads! I dig the Autometer Sport-Comp water temp gauge. I run them in my track cars, LOL. If I was a betting man, I'd be willing to bet you and the misses are just crying tears of happiness now that this thing is finally out of your shop. 😂
