So, the farmer, teacher and preacher died in the accident. Before the preacher passed on, he handed the Bible which was soaked in his blood to the hooker. A very honest and heart felt reaction to this very spiritual and powerful song. Yes The song is about how the Hooker had been able to change her life after receiving the blood stained bible from the dying preacher and his words of support. She goes on to become a productive member of society and have a family ; her boy who learns from his "Mother" aka the preacher about the accident - which this inspires him to become a preacher himself - who was telling the story aka the song.

you were close, the preacher(that was giving the sermon) was the son of the hooker.......that is why she she lived, or he wouldn't have been born. keep em coming country girl !!
What the preacher left behind was greater than just the Bible itself, is was God’s promise of salvation! She in turn shared that salvation with her son! Heartbreaking for those who lose their loved ones but what joy for those souls going to a better place! 😇 What a never ending gift that we all can claim! ♥️ Sounds like the message you received from the mom may have been why you landed on THIS song today. 🤗
The pastor held that blood-stained Bible up, for all of us to see. He said bless the farmer, and the teacher, and that preacher...who gave this blood stained Bible to my Mama, to read it to me.
Storytelling is a hallmark of Randy Travis. This story is also about redemption as well as being mindful about paying things forward...now necessarily what, but how.
The Dying Preacher handed the Bible to the Hooker, who read the Bible to her son, which is now the Preacher telling the story. Love You and God Loves You. :)

Hands down, that was the most heart-felt reaction I have ever witnessed by any channel reviewing a song. Your reaction was as sad as the song itself and this is the second time I have listened and watched your review of this song and you are a kind soul indeed. Just thought I'd let you know.
I completely agree Richard😮. THIS is why I sub'd to her channel is because she is the most REAL reactors I've come across. Also her reaction to Teddy Bear by Red Sovine is beautiful as I haven't actually heard a real "sigh", heartfelt, like that I don't think ever😉🙏🏻❣️.
That's the story our preacher told us last Sunday, as he held the blood-stained Bible up. God bless the farmer, the teacher, and the preacher, who gave that Bible to my momma, who read it to me!. Her son became a preacher. Good song, good story.
You may not recognize this phrase, but "Like a train-whistle in the distance" ...that's always been the sound I hear when I listen to his music. as to the song... Now you know what the Preacher left behind. He redeemed a sinner with his dying breath. ...that's powerful even to an old agnostic like myself.
The Hooker survived the accident and read the Bible to her son which inspired him to become a Preacher. That accident changed her life for the better and that preacher played a key part in that change.
Everytime I hear this song, I get emotional. I've known this song for nearly 20 years, and even today, its one of the few songs I cannot sing along to. Brings tears to my eyes, and a knot in my throat. And, a hope to live better

The sad part is Randy Travis had a massive stroke and cannot sing like this anymore. 😢 He is an icon. The three wooden crosses were left for the farmer, teacher and preacher. In America, we put wooden crosses where people died in accidents on the highway. The hooker was the mama of his preacher.
God has a plan for each of us, and we never know why some things happen they way they do. Still, God spared the hooker, the Preacher ministered to her in the end, and she raised her son to love the Lord and know he had a purpose to be alive. That is why there were "only" three crosses on the rights side of the highway. This is a bit sad, but even more beautiful story in a song masterfully executed by Randy Travis who is with the Lord today. I believe.
Hi Gitana, my mom loved Randy Travis, her favorite song is Forever and Ever Amen you should listen to his songs they're all great songs he is 100 percent Country.
The crosses are for the farmer, teacher and the preacher. The preacher gave his bible to the hooker who took her second chance to read it and read it to her child. This song makes me cry every time I hear it
Hi, this one always brings a tear to my eyes. I was a police officer for 22 years and had to do accident reports and investigations after these types of accidents. Mothers, children, dads died in those accidents. It was heart rending the loss of life. Then I drove truck 20 years and it's so hard to listen to this. It's only a second of lapse of attention and a tragedy can happen. The emotions are always there. Thank you for reacting to this.
I agree. I was an X-Ray tech for 28 years and have seen the result of accidents personally. I hate snow to this day. The worst accident that ever hard to work on happened on Christmas Eve with blowing snow. A van full of a family was hit broadside after it slid on ice and turned sideways. They were all killed, the parents and all four children. The police, county and state, were crying because their brightly colored wrapped presents were lying scattered for yards around in the snow. This was 30 years ago and I still detest snow and think of them every Christmas and whenever it snows.

Great reaction! It was the hooker that survived! The dying preacher gave his Bible to the hooker and read it to her son… And the son became a preacher! I love the music and the meaning of this song! Really good country songs tell a story!!
Gitana, it is confusing the first time or two you hear it. And we appreciate you going back a lot of times to make sure you understood the lyrics. Your reaction was priceless. God bless you.
Ironically, he didn't originally release this song as a country song. It came out on a Christian album he released. This song obtained its popularity due to country DJ's buying the album with their own money to play on the radio. it's an example of the love and respect Randy Travis earned over the years.
Gitana, the story of that mother reaching out to you for being so nice to her son, does not surprise us. As your fans, we realize just how much of a caring, loving person you are at heart. You are "touching" peoples' hearts without even realizing it, until you get a call from a boy's mother. HOW PRECIOUS. Great reaction to a great music video. 👍👍
This is gonna sound a little weird but . . . you're lucky to have parent(s) that you can grieve for their absence. Both of my parents are gone and I couldn't be happier. They were the neediest and most self centered people I knew and I am glad they are gone.
My daughter was in a wreck a few years back and she was the only survivor out of 4 so this song is very emotional to us because there are literally 3 wooden crosses on the right side of the highway (because here in the US we do put crosses on the side of the roads when someone is killed in an auto accident and other reasons) I love your videos so much. Your love for us over here is so endearing and welcomed. Much love from your South Alabama "family" I hope you have a blessed day sweet girl
The best message from this song is to spread love and knowledge to everyone you love, know or meet, whether it's your children, your spouse, or whoever you meet every day. That is what you leave behind. 💯
Ya got me at 8:50, my eye's started burning..lol. wonderful reaction to a beautiful song 🎵, sung by a LEGENDARY performer! The hooker had a baby 👶 who became a preacher, because he [the preacher] gave the Bible to the hooker while he was dieing, and the preacher said, can't you see the promise land, it's what he was seeing as he was passing away. So the hooker changed her ways enough to read her child the Bible at night. I'd like to think she did a 180;degree turn and lived a better life from then on. Hope this helps..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠
yes that's exactly right.. she was the 4th passenger and she was fleeing from her previous life of prostitution because she got preggo & wanted to be a good mom who didn't want him to grow up in that lifestyle so she left on a shuttle that got hit by an 18 wheeler (semi truck) & as that preacher layed ther dying he gave her that Bible as his final act he gave her that bible and some encouraging words for her not to give up and she can give her baby thr life she wants him to have which obviously worked because of that preacher he grew up to be just like that man and went around to spread the word of God like to carry on in his name cuz he goes around with that preachers same Bible to preach his word to help others change
Possibly the best Country singer in the last 40 years. He has so many great songs but this one hits hard. Born with the Country voice...sadly he can no longer sing due to stroke.
I just love all Randy Travis' music we all need to pray for him also, he is currently recovering from some serious health issues which stop him from singing but I believe his therapy has allowed for some singing now 🙏
In the early 1990's I had a college field placement in a middle school for 9 weeks. I was there for 3 school periods 3 days a week. I interacted with all of the students in my classes a little. There were a few kids that just stayed in my mind. In the early 2000s, I was working at a childcare center in a small town. One day, when a mom came in to pick up her son, she had a friend with her. The friend recognized me immediately even though I had changed a lot. She and I talked for a few minutes and she asked if she could give me a hug. I knew her for 9 weeks when she was in the 7th grade. She told me that if it weren't for me, she wouldn't have graduated high school. She probably would have dropped out after the 8th grade because "nobody believed in me" ... until she met me. These days, I have several students that I used to work with (in field placements, the childcare center, and tutoring) who tell me that I changed their lives in one way or another.
I think one of the biggest things people miss about this story is the time-line. God's plan wasn't revealed for many many years. Sometimes when things happen, regardless of how tragic they may be, something good comes from it. It may take time, but remember we are only here for a little while.
I have watched dozens and dozens of your reactions but this is the first time I have ever commented. Every country singer dreams of being asked to be the next Grand Old Opry member. The Opry is in Nashville and has been going for almost 100 years and you know you have made it when stand in the Opry “circle” and sing. You should watch Randy asking Carrie Underwood to join the Opry “family”. She sings Randy’s song - I told you so. I’m from Scotland and love country music. Great reaction as ever. Keep them coming xx
Yes, ma'am, you've got it right. Thank you for checking the lyrics. Sometimes songs mean something very personal to people who watch reactions and when the meaning goes above the reactor's head because they aren't paying attention or cut it off at the end or something, it can be disappointing. Thank you for being so sweet and double checking. This song does mean something personal to many of us and I know I definitely appreciate your very genuine reactions. Sending love and hugs across the pond and prayers for your hard times. You certainly have helped mine with your authentic self! 🫂❤️
Very well put!! I have so much respect for how she kept going back to make sure she was understanding the lyrics, as it it showed her respect for the artist, her viewers, and ultimately even herself as a reactor! Not all reactors do that… even some I really like otherwise.
The Opry is the home of Country music, and they put live shows on the radio dating back generations. It’s an honor to play there. Randy Travis has dozens of amazing hits from the 80s and 90s. He had legal and substance problems when he was young. He got on the right track, got a black belt, and he’s even acted. He had a massive stroke that almost took him a few years ago. His speech still isn’t fully back. This is a beautiful story song, one among many of his. I hope you get a chance to explore his catalog! Another great video!
I generally try to keep my religious comments more subtle and to a minimum. Its a shame but its an easy way to start an online fight. But you choosing this song wasn't by accident. This was a God thing! Someone needed to hear this song at this time. Someone needs to know that they can come to Jesus for His love and forgiveness and that they can pass that love down to their family just like the lady in the story did. Lots of love to you and yours Gitana!!! ❤🫂 Keep being amazing!!!

We have no idea how many of them have ever heard this before. I don't know your personal beliefs. I pray that you do know the Lord Jesus Christ. And if you don't, I pray that maybe this song has roused your interest just a little bit to learn more about His great love for you. This is not his first time in the Opry. The thing with country music, and bluegrass, if you have not been INVITED on the Grand Ole Opry, you are not popular enough yet. This show is for the best of the best. In my state of Ohio, we have those 3 crosses on the sides of many highways.
The really good country songs tell a story that will touch many. The preacher died helping the hooker find her salvation, and her son grew up to be a preacher. Powerful lyrics. Great story. Randy Travis is one of the greats. And thank you again for another great reaction.
I think the key lyric is "1 was headed for vacation, 1 for Higher education, and 2 of them for lost souls"...the preacher Looking for Souls to Save and the Hooker looking for her Soul to be saved... So in the end the preacher saved her soul and she passed it down to her son whom became a Preacher
I think the hooker was looking for other "lost souls", but what the preacher left behind (placed that blood stained Bible in her hand) saved her soul and made her son a preacher.

It's a story of redemption. The hooker was redeemed by the act of the dying preacher who gave her his Bible. The fact she raised a son who then became a preacher himself was the testament to her redemption.

It's " Who " read it to me.
Storytelling is a hallmark of Randy Travis. This story is also about redemption as well as being mindful about paying things forward...now necessarily what, but how.
" Forever an Ever Amen"
The Dying Preacher handed the Bible to the Hooker, who read the Bible to her son, which is now the Preacher telling the story. Love You and God Loves You. :)
What the preacher left behind was greater than just the Bible itself, is was God’s promise of salvation! She in turn shared that salvation with her son! What a never ending gift that we all can claim! ♥️
Hands down, that was the most heart-felt reaction I have ever witnessed by any channel
reviewing a song. Your reaction was as sad as the song itself and this is the second time
I have listened and watched your review of this song and you are a kind soul indeed. Just
thought I'd let you know.
I completely agree Richard😮. THIS is why I sub'd to her channel is because she is the most REAL reactors I've come across. Also her reaction to Teddy Bear by Red Sovine is beautiful as I haven't actually heard a real "sigh", heartfelt, like that I don't think ever😉🙏🏻❣️.
trust me i had to go over the song at least 4 times to understand also
That's the story our preacher told us last Sunday, as he held the blood-stained Bible up. God bless the farmer, the teacher, and the preacher, who gave that Bible to my momma, who read it to me!. Her son became a preacher. Good song, good story.
Randy has so many great songs. It's a Matter of Time, Digging up Bones, Forever and Ever Amen
He is the guy that did the song Forever and Ever, Amen. I don't know if that's where you heard it, or maybe Deeper Than the Holler.
Country music are tales of the heart. Real country tells the story of the heart in conflict.
It's what you leave behind, in other words make a difference...
Exactly, that's the truth.
That's what country music is stories about life...put to music... she is one of the only ones that figured out the story.
You may not recognize this phrase, but "Like a train-whistle in the distance"
...that's always been the sound I hear when I listen to his music.
as to the song...

@@jamesboswell760 the song was recorded and released in 2002. Randy Travis couldn't have done it lately, because he suffered a massive stroke a few years ago that left him unable to sing, much less talk properly. Do a little research first.

Thank you for your service
@@ambermason9112 It was an honor to serve. Thank you
I’ve listened to this for several years. I was a Marine and law enforcement but this still makes me tear up. That preacher touched at least 2 souls
Power of pure country song. God bless Mr. Travis.
You DO make a difference. Both of you do, in your own ways. Thank you. Both of you.
Youre so passionate. I love you & your channel better than any other on youtube. Please stay as you are. And. GOD BLESS YOUR HUSBAND & YOUR FAMILY & OF COURSE , YOU. 👍
I lost my wife of 23 years on June 7, 2022, and she left behind a legacy of love and strength. She was born with Spina-Bifida and lived life and loved to the fullest. I am dealing with my grief over her loss and next Sunday the 22nd will be out 24th anniversary and I would greatly appreciate you reacting to Remember Me This Way by Jordan Hill for our anniversary. Thank you for any consideration you give my request.
The Hooker survived she was pregnant and didn’t know she was and the preacher handed her the Bible as he took his last breath
All country artists dream of being on the Grand Ole Oprey. You look beautiful today, as always 😉

These days, I have several students that I used to work with (in field placements, the childcare center, and tutoring) who tell me that I changed their lives in one way or another.
that is whypeople love country music always tells a story . it may be sad or happy but it tells a story.
I think one of the biggest things people miss about this story is the time-line. God's plan wasn't revealed for many many years. Sometimes when things happen, regardless of how tragic they may be, something good comes from it. It may take time, but remember we are only here for a little while.
Almost every time I hear this song, I get teary eyed. 😢 this is a hard song to get through but rewarding.
This one definitely touches you. Nobody is beyond saving if they are willing to repent.
👼 Jesus Saves! 😇🙏
Everything happens for a reason. It's all in Almighty God's hands.
You covered this song and you made a difference. It speaks to all of us.
MOOOOAAANNN!!!!
You sure you're not a redneck? We'd love to have ya.
Beautifully put!
The Farmer,The Teacher and The Preacher are the ones that passed away.
59,000 people have watched this video. Your compassion and humility and your sharing how this song so deeply affected you has been spread to 59,000 people. We have no idea how many of them have ever heard this before. I don't know your personal beliefs. I pray that you do know the Lord Jesus Christ. And if you don't, I pray that maybe this song has roused your interest just a little bit to learn more about His great love for you. Our Lord, through Randy Travis in essence laid a bible in your hands, stained with His precious blood your heart was touched by it. Now you've, in turn, shared that with so many. "It's not what you take when you leave this world behind you. It's what you leave behind you when you go." God bless you, beloved of Christ. ❤❤❤
What a gift. You are correct. The farmer, teacher, and preacher were killed, the hooker given the bible changed her life and she passed on the book and the lessons within to her child. Great song. Take on Rascal Flatts "Skin"
This is not his first time in the Opry. The thing with country music, and bluegrass, if you have not been INVITED on the Grand Ole Opry, you are not popular enough yet. This show is for the best of the best. In my state of Ohio, we have those 3 crosses on the sides of many highways.
That is absolutely correct. It is a great story of how God can save and redeem a story that many would deem hopeless.
I'm a forty-something year old father of 4 from Nebraska. I have heard this song literally hundreds of times and it gets me every time. God Bless You for being honest on camera. I will not listen to this song around other people.
Me too.😢 The most powerful message came @ the end. What we perceive as the most imperfect person was left holding the BIBLE n passed it in to her son to continue the message: HOPE. ❤️Ur reaction. 🙋👍🌹
Penny is in the air as you say over there. Your reactions are SO AWESOME!! You are one of the only people how actually listen to the country lyrics and get them. Once again you are true and honest with your reactions and feelings. Much Love from Michigan ❤❤❤
Great reaction. It is what we leave behind. ❤
It's a story of redemption. The hooker was redeemed by the act of the dying preacher who gave her his Bible. The fact she raised a son who then became a preacher himself was the testament to her redemption.
It's easy to see why this song won a Grammy, but I think it won the Dove Award because of its strong message about redemption and forgiveness. It's a beautiful song. And your reaction was beautiful too. This is one of those that hits you right in the center of the heart and makes the tears start flowing.

Out of all your reactions that I’ve seen, THIS is my favorite
