It's a shame Britney went Pop over heavy metal, she's bloody got the voice for metal tbh.
When I started arranging the song wasn´t sure about her voice, but now I like it a lot, though for me the queen of pop metal singers would be Katy Perry
She too does have an incredible voice, will you be doing one of her songs next? Please do Adele's song Rolling In The Deep, it's an incredible song. Adele also would've been brilliant as a metal vocalist as well, sadly there's something wrong with her voice, she wears out real quickly. She had several tours cancelled because her voice gave out on her.

Yeah, it usually sounds too happy and the message the songs deliver is very naive at times. That´s why I like rock and metal better, but I also enjoy a lot of pop songs too

You didn't understand the OP. He said that listening to my cover he pictured or imagined a real band playing with Britney, no that there aren't female-fronted metal bands
To any metalheads who like this cover, or the idea of Britney Spears with metal in general, check out her song “(You Drive Me) Crazy”. The album version, not the Stop Remix that was used in the music video. It has distorted guitars (low in the mix) played by two Swedish metal guitarists and a shred solo from after the bridge until the end of the song.
The Backstreet Boys - “Larger Than Life” also has distorted guitars and a shred solo after the bridge.
I know what you mean, but those songs are far from being metal, though I like them both. I´d love to cover Crazy, but even more "I Was Born To Make You Happy", that is a kille song
Jotun Studio I know they’re not exactly metal songs. Technically they’re teen /bubblegum pop songs, but they have hard rock/metal-ish elements albeit low in the mix. The shred solos in both songs are probably closer to 80s glam rock/metal than say melodic death metal, but still.
Considering this is straight up synth driven bubblegum / teen pop from the late 90s, having any kind of rock elements at all, like distorted guitars playing power chords and shred solos is rare and certainly better than nothing. At least if you are a hard rock /metal fan who laments how shitty and unrelatable pop music is. It’s a breath of fresh air and gives you some hope that it’s not all bad, you know?
It also makes it much easier to metal up these songs than say Born To Make You Happy (I love that song too), because the hard rock elements are already there. Some metal band I forget the name covered Larger Than Life and it sounds decent.
I was surprised and amazed when I first heard the album versions, since the versions used in the radio singles/ music videos were either remixes or edits that cut out the solos.
I totally agree with you. There are elements there that make you think about a more edgier version. I have to admit I didn´t listen to the album version and it also surprised me with all those guitars you mentioned.
It´s a pity they changed the mix, though I have to admit that I also like Britney´s 90 sound (I´m not only a metal but pop fan too)

I´d like to cover Crazy or Born To Make You Happy, but there are no good vocal tracks for them :( Those songs would sound killer in a metal cover
there is one metal cover on here that is pretty decent of crazy but the instrumental isnt quite heavy enough i think your style would work better but understand if you cant find a decent vocal for it
I´ve tried to look for a good vocal track but the ones I´ve found haven´t got enough quality to work with them. If the one I found is the same you say, it´s 7 years old, so the acapella he used may be down, and it would be hard to get it back again :(

According to Wikipedia, she was originally going to make Sheryl Crow type music. Not metal obviously, but still music with live instruments as opposed to her synth pop music she became known for.
I didn´t know that, though I´m not sure if that´s true, since she came from the Disney Channel, hehe
Jotun Studio She was on the new Mickey Mouse Club in the early 90s as a tween with Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, etc. to get her start singing and dancing.
It’s not quite the same as the Disney Channel’s simultaneous music/sitcom/movie industry machine that launched the careers of Hilary Duff, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, etc. a decade or more later. No, Britney was more of an MTV TRL darling than a Disney starlet, despite being on MMC.
But it makes sense that she almost did Sheryl Crow-esque music. Britney was a major tomboy growing up. Some pictures show her wearing baggy clothes and her voice was deeper. The industry molded her into the feminine baby voiced pop star she’s known for today, but that took months of work.

I´ve got to say that early Britney Songs, like this one, Oops I Did It Again, Crazy or Born To Make You Happy are decent pop songs, with catchy melodies and arrangements
Honestly, i agree with you. Thats all catchy melodies... but my mind often defends itself against this pop stuff. The reason is, i come from Black and Death Metal, and for many years, i've been narrow-minded towards pop music, but the Metal Covers have opened my mind for this kind of art...
Today, i buy pop albums from Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Katy Perry or Ariana Grande...

I listened both genres: Michael Jackson and Roxette plus Metallica, Guns n Roses and Maiden. I love metal but I also love good pop music.

Yeah, maybe, sometimes I don´t balance vocals the same. It´s a matter of taste and I also think that the acapella was not clear enough, so I end up hiding the vocals a bit to disguise that. Also, it´s metal and guitars and drums should be loud :D Anyway, glad you liked it!
