You DO have a problem, Graham. And it is 'the recording won't look right WITHOUT post-production colour correction'! (NGL, your efforts do result in a better final result - thank you for taking these steps.)
The Michelin Bib is basically a Michelin star for "value" restaurants. The have to stay under a certain price per 3 course meal based on the area they are in, and have to provide exceptional quality while doing so.
Funny enough, without seeing this thread, my wife went looking it up too, and it actually debuted in 1997! Still well after Michelin Stars were a thing, but yeah! Real neat to learn about them.
@@trident042 Oh wow! I thought I had seen an article saying they were introduced last year, but maybe last year was just the first year that restaurants in my city were awarded any? Cool to know!
This GVlog's got everything. Graham's Shoes Cool Beats Artfully composed static shots of Architectural elements Kathleen What more could one ask for? :)
(I too am always a little baffled and delighted when I'm somewhere warm year-round and I see a peperomia or a pothos or whatever that is a houseplant I have, and I'm like "I know them from my home! They're my friend! What are they doing here???")
14:48 PORTOS!!! They TREATED y'all!!! Portos is the local go-to when you want a high quality pastries!! Its a local chain, probably a half-dozen locations? When my parents renewed their wedding vows they got a cake from Portos. The walk-in line is typically 20+ minutes. And worth every second. I would bet money the first "IDK what this is" Graham picked up was one of their mashed potato balls. Its a specialty of their's I'm very slightly jealous Graham got to have, bc the lineup is typically so long for them!
Love seeing ladee talking about set dressing is cool! I’m a technical director for a school, and it’s cool to think about her having to figure out how to get rocks and sleighs for their sets
1:56 "Have you MET me?"----No........#cry, but it's a bucket list item. Somewhere in there when it happens will be a hug, hope you and Kathleen are OK with that.
As a long-time LRR fan who’s never seen Game Knights, I initially read your comment’s GK as Graham and Kathleen, and didn’t understand why you needed to differentiate them from LRR
The vibes of the GVlogs are immaculate as always, love that they keep coming, as I think you have a gift for them. I adore your editing style. They just have this cozy atmosphere that you only really get when walking around on a trip, which is to say, exactly the atmosphere a travel vlog should have. Your attention to detail and delightful B-Roll is also a huge part of it, if a sometimes unsung one. Anyways, lots of words just to say: Love video, thanks for hard work.
I appreciate this gvlog! Thank you for taking us along Graham! And it was neat to see your passion for video meeting Kathleen's passion for plants towards the end of it! ^^
As someone who grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, it's weird but also very cool to see you touring around and trying the local spots. Great vlog, hope you enjoyed your stay!
The nice mobile bathrooms are not at all just an LA thing! My apartment building had to shut the water off for a while to do maintenance (100-year-old building, comes with the territory) and they brought one of those in for us to use. It was much, much nicer than the weeks leading up to it when the water would randomly go out for hours at a time.
It looks like the vietnamese coffee might have had the little coffee jellies at the bottom, which is the best, and strongest. I'm usually up for a long time after having one of those. Oh, and the vibe of that place was "Vietnamese mid-tier restaurant", I have a bunch of them near me and they've all got loads of neon/led strings/TV on something random that is not a TV show, and at least where I am, fake plants.
A great GVLOG. I always enjoy these. I'm hoping to find the inspiration and energy to do my own vlog of my upcoming Japan trip, seeing how much fun yours are.
Ahhh new GVlog! ❤️ get in my face! Can I just say i have watched and rewatched your Vlogs they are my one of my Mental Health reset safe places. Love to keep seeing more!
Hey Graham, I do not see a problem with you recording in LOG in order to better color correct. If anything it looks really good! So, thank you for putting in the extra work. Definitely worth it!
Oh jeez. All those plants Kathleen was talking about near the end, I also recognize from (briefly) working in a greenhouse, but they have the opposite problem where I live. It's Texas. They die in the SUMMER, so we also sell them as houseplants. xD
Oh HELLS yeah they had Porto's catering. They're a 3 restaurant chain of Cuban bakeries in LA and they are the bomb, got hooked on them when I was in the greater area for college
Color correcting isn't a problem, it's a solution :) Also, I experienced LAX Uber/Lyft nonsense BEFORE that infrastructure was in place. As a driver. Believe me, it's better to have it than to not.
As a Game Knights and LRR fan this was amazing to see - I always assumed the weird environments out of the windows in Game Knights were just green-screens and then composed in afterwards, rather than being projected and captured in camera. Thanks so much for making this!
@2:26 beautiful shot. I love the little pop of green from the tree in the corner edit: also @4:27 I thought you were, for some reason, showing us you pissed on the floor
It amazing on what goes on in a game knights episode it's so cool that's why I've been watching them since 2017 and my first commander was the ur-dragon josh played
GVlogs are by far my favorite content on the internet. If I didn't have to work, and loved games and voice chatting with friends so much, I'd just C O N S U M E everything on this channel in loops. Trully the best vibes.
Hey G, question. Do you intend to do a travel vlog for your journey across Europe? The Australia and Japan vlogs legitimately chill me out and are great cozy content
I respect the hell out of the fact that this BTS is months after the actual episode aired because graham could have been like 🤷♀️ but instead hes like 👍
6:33 "I wish no ill will to that man, but I wish to never see him again. Because he's clearly got a lot of stuff going on, and so do I--I don't have time for his stuff." Wow, that's me and 80% of the strangers I see in public! Thank you for putting words to this feeling, Kathleen!
Ah I see that LAX has done the same thing that BOS and SFO did to deal with Uber and Lyft congestion. Both BOS and SFO just gave up sections of their parking garages to make pickup zones, now it's only slightly less of a nightmare.
the amount of customers that would insist that i make them a fresh pot of steeped tea at tim’s instead of just giving them a teabag of it was staggering like i understand that it’s more work to take out a tea bag but they just straight up didn’t believe me that steeped tea was just orange pekoe anyway had to get that off my chest
Graham: "I have a problem"
Katheleen: *nods in agreement on the side*
Ah, marriage.
i loved this part!
Oh good, someone else said it so I don't have to. 😂
Any good relationship is "Oh that's weird." "Yup."
You don’t have a problem, Graham, you care enough about even the little details which we appreciate
You DO have a problem, Graham. And it is 'the recording won't look right WITHOUT post-production colour correction'!

I feel like Graham will only have a problem if he buys a camera like the GK one to film his vlogs

Absolutely incredible to see the behind the scenes of game knights, shot on ARRI. They're wild. Thank you for this!
I appreciate that you color correct your vlogs - understanding and utilizing color is the sign of a talented video craftsperson

I'm lowkey enjoying the composition of the in between shots
Thank you!
I know that YYJ is the code for the local international airport, but I've seen too much LRR content, so I assumed it stood for Yellow Yellow Jacket.
YYellowJacket, clearly.
Great architectural composition shots in the transitions - was also a fun surprise seeing bits of my hometown (Burbank) in the vlog.
Whoever had the idea for that outro cut or whatever the technical term is, was brilliant.
The vibes of your vids are actually elite, keep it up Graham!
