As an absolutely massive LOK fan and Ganondorf main in Smash, I think I'm tearing up a bit lol. She looks so satisfying to play, such a powerful brawler playstyle. Very fitting for her. I can't recall her doing a Ganon stomp like that in the show, but I can't possibly let canonicity get in the way of the reality that *Korra has the Ganon stomp.*
It makes sense tho. Katara can only use water so she carries around a water pouch. Season 1 Korra just defaults to earth and fire because they're more commonly available. Season 3 Korra defaults to air for the same reason. She rarely has water around her to use, except during those pro bending matches.
@@l.n.3372 While that is all well and good, I first off didn't like that that was something that needed to be done but also you would think she would carry around water if she needs water. It feels like how in the movie that doesn't exist how the Fire Nation was like all we need fire so that we can bend it was incredibly stupid. Granted that makes more sense than any of the other three elements as pretty much everything is made of earth water or are in some capacity and the only thing that is fire is fire. I still don't like it as an idea because it exclusively limits just that group for no reason. Also they use Aang from like the very beginning series where the only has airbending and the Avatar state whereas Korra early on didn't have airbending at all, so you could've just substituted are effects for water effect because they realistically won't be any different unless they do the stupid thing that happens in Smash where water doesn't hurt people...
@@Jestylor6 In the ATLA ep the puppet master, Hamma shows Katara how there's water in life everywhere. But that doesn't mean you can just pull it outta the air easily. Katara uses her sweat once as water bending. But carrying it around in a pouch is realistically the only way to have your water on hand everywhere. Meanwhile there is easy access to air in the show. Fire is created by the fire bender in their arms and legs. And earth is all around you if you are on the ground somewhere. So it makes sense to work that way.
@@l.n.3372 I understand I remember there was a reason for it but that doesn't mean I like it, also Korra is not only the Avatar but like a prodigy combined into one thing if there's anybody who can you know waterbend in the history of time and space that should be her...

Man this stage is so epic, I love how the two spirits are fighting fully in the background and their fight looks intense also both Korra and Aangs move set are so fitting a perfect for them
As soon as I saw that almost 100% of Aangs moves were air based, I KNEW they were gonna give Korra all the elements! I am sooo excited for Korra!!! She is such a awesome character
This showcase just made me realize... I hope the characters have voice lines and stuff. Seeing korra's taunt and not hearing her voice feels weird. Like, shouldn't Patrick be making some noise when he's hit, or when you K.O him?
I loooove how you can tell that the devs know a lot about their characters❤️ Korra uses fire the most in the series and this can be seen in her moveset too. It's actually a little sad that we didn't see a water bending move but every other element got their move... but all in all great showcase👌🏼
@KnucklesWTD I think they could have done better . Imagine if you ever played smash bros, Shulk and Hero are good examples of how it could have been done. The move set could have stayed about the same. Neutral special cycles through the different kinds of bending. Having air bending make her jump higher and move faster while greatly reducing the strength and knock-back of her attacks with air bending effects. Then earth could make her heavier harder to knock off the stage at the cost of slower movement and lower jumps . Fire bending can deal more damage but has more end lag and makes her easier to knock off the stage. Water can be more balanced since that's her native element. Again while keeping the move set about the same. Just adding different effects to Mach the bending styles. Also add some range attacks, maybe side special can be a projectile. Water can push opponents like Mario's flood. Fire is flame that deals damage but no knock-back like Bowser. Air can flip your opponents like Mewtwo. And earth can be a bolder with lots of knock-back. Is not hard at all. I was able to come up with this move set of the top my head in 5 minutes and I don't make games for a living. All you need is someone that's knowlageble about Avatar and smash bros.
Weird that Aang only airbends (I presume for spoiler reasons?) but then Korra's stage is Harmonic Convergence. Either way, characters look dope. It'd even be cool if there was hypothetically another Avatar character :)
Nah, she's too slow. She's more like a Ganon. I'm a bit disappointed because she looks cooler than all the other characters. The Falcon will be Powdered Toast Man. He's basically a Falcon, but with shine and waveshine
There are no character grunts when hit and the results screen look uninspired, they could at least learn from Overwatch and Smash screen to make it a bit flashy.
One thing that really throws me for a loop is that Axe kick uses fire and uppercut uses earth. When you consider how earth bending functions that doesnt really add up. And the elemental effect looks really weird on uppercut. I think it would look alot better if it were the other way around and axe kick instead had the slamming fist earth effect. while Uppercut produced fire.

honestly if you want my real opinion i think an elementally charged attack should produce an actual tangible difference. Uppercut should instead of just summoning dirt for no reason, instead make a flat rock come out of the ground like what toph does to aang in their first fight. extending the range and sending opponents up higher. The kick would become a sour spot while the top of the rock is a sweet spot Axe kick should produce a wave of fire that shoots forward a small distance Strong punch should shoot an icicle which goes a decent distance but the start up should be slower. if her aerials can be charged Her air upward kick should produce a small jet of flame like a flame dagger that doesnt do more knockback but just gives more damage as a burn. aerial stomp is fine as is Roundhouse kick in the air should have something but i dont know what.
I love that they use terms like knock back. Nintendo would never in a million years stoop to the level of their fan base and use fan terminology. Glad to see a developer that isn’t obsessed with creating a divide between fans and developers like Nintendo is.
Why she aren’t using her elements that much? Even Isabelle from smash uses a lot more tools than korra, like her up smash, and down smash . Her down smash has a lot more water effect than korrra
Her down attacks look really good! Her light down air seems to send her opponent down in slow motion allowing for an easy follow up. And her strong down air seems very powerful like Ganondorf's dair and can probably combo if the opponent is grounded when it connects. She seems really solid.
I like that she's in the game, but they didn't make her fantastic enough. All of her attacks are basic punches and kicks with just an elemental effect applied. I want to see her raise the Earth from the ground for her uppercut. Surround herself with water or fire for her air strong neutral. Use ice or metal spikes for her down strong. Breathe some fire, spray some lava, shake the earth, heck, shoot a Hyper Beam. There's just so much more that this character can do than a hot kick or a dirty punch. (Aerial strong up / down, strong dash, and down special look pretty good, though)
Firstly, love Korra, she’s awesome. Secondly, since voice acting isn’t shown in the game (at least in this game’s current state), it’s a bit disappointing - I can tell Janet Varney would’ve had some fun reprising her role as Korra. And thirdly, I wonder if they’ll implement alternate skins in the game like they do for Smash, because if they do, I can already see two of Korra’s skins with her hair down and two with her short hair.
I would pay big money to have a skin of Korra with her hair down. I don’t really like her short hair though personally so i wouldn’t really care if they put it in the game or not
They have to have at least 1 alt skin right? Otherwise mirror matches would be impossible to tell who was player 1 or 2 lol I'm hoping for Korra to get her season 2 costume (dark blue, long hair down her back) and her season 4 costume (short hair, different outfit). But pro bending outfit Korra makes sense too.
Kinda wish we could've gotten the bending arena from S1 as her stage, but honestly this stage is really nice and fitting for the game's final destination stage.(and is like the only good part of Korra book 2) Now we just need the game's battlefield stage.
Since Toph's in the game I wouldn't be surprised if her arena is the wrestling arena from her first episode. If that's the case it's good that we're getting 1 bending arena stage at least. Who knows they could do a few places for Toph.
im very happy with this result, i was worried there would be a high focus on her water bending but her using all the elements equaly if not more fits her character a lot.
I’m confused why they gave her that grounded down b, cause it looks like that’s what Toph’s should be? I love that she has Ganon’s stomp, that’s amazing
It feels like they could've re-skinned all of her special abilities to use different elements, but either way it's cool. The biggest missed opportunity is not having her taunt be 'Im watching you'
OH. MY. GOD. I never knew how badly I wanted to see Korra’s showcase till now. I can’t even describe how much I missed seeing her 😭 Also that stage!!! *chef kisses* amazing!

Not only that, but up air and down special seem to function oddly simular. (I mean to gannondorf/falcon)
she has falcon's up tilt too! (down strong)
Ofc the guy who mains the braindead character would be a LoK fan :^)
Based on aesthetics alone, she's easily the best-looking character in the game.
Korra uses surprisingly little water for somebody born a water user...
@@Jestylor6
In the ATLA ep the puppet master, Hamma shows Katara how there's water in life everywhere.
You made both avatars so cool and true to character. Thanks again for making this game so good :p
I wish her taunt was better. Other than that she looks badass and fun
I know I'll main her. My favorite Avatar!!
She looks pretty cool too 😁
"You simply don't mess with the avatar."
I'd liked to see Patrick, Helga & some other certain fighters attempt that... IF it was an animated crossover TV episode or a movie.
Kinda disappointed at the music of this stage. LoK has a beautiful soundtrack and it's a shame none of it was used for her stage.
i don't think any franchise has music from the shows? Its all original tracks "inspired" by the OSTs of the shows
@@TheCrimsonEpilogue yeah licensing that sort of thing can get very hairy considering the budget for the game. if the sales are good enough i hope they can get nickelodeon to pressure composers/license holders to play ball for things like that. i’m sure they’d have loved to add everything people have been asking for like certain franchises, voice acting, and music but it’s just not within the scope of the game…yet.
And season 2 has some great music, like the Jinora light theme.
Looking like Captain Falcon at 5:05 👀
Poor Patrick. Didnt even know what was happening to him. That game finish combo was just CRACKED
Man this stage is so epic, I love how the two spirits are fighting fully in the background and their fight looks intense also both Korra and Aangs move set are so fitting a perfect for them
Now we await HBox's reaction to the Final Destination of this game
Fatality's too.
yep...
I like how you give korra a lot of fire elements since she uses Fire the most outta all the elements
I like that they didn't take the time to "announce" her cause everyone already knew she was in the game by now lol
As soon as I saw that almost 100% of Aangs moves were air based, I KNEW they were gonna give Korra all the elements!
I am sooo excited for Korra!!! She is such a awesome character
no she isn't
I like that most of her moves are fire and earth with less water and air, pretty good stuff
@@selfloathinggameing yea, both movesets fit the characters perfectly.
@Lopez shut up Toxic Atla Fanboy👊🏼👊🏼
@@fernandoramirez1457 korra is trash, mad cause bad, plus dumb, +ratio
Oooh, she's so cool, and great stage, nice music, love the double spike at the end, and all this punching!♥So fun!
This showcase just made me realize... I hope the characters have voice lines and stuff. Seeing korra's taunt and not hearing her voice feels weird. Like, shouldn't Patrick be making some noise when he's hit, or when you K.O him?
They don't. They releasing characters and move sets for weeks now. It's not like they are saving them as a surprise
I’m so glad that Korra can bending all the element cause she is explicitely could using all of ‘em at once ❤️🔥
Ganon players, we've found our main
Korra has a Ganon D-air, and a Falcon Kick. this is something we never expected to see.
Korra is definitely an S Tier character in this game. Imma pocket her, Aang and Toph
My Lincoln will be ready to fight ya! :)
Don't cross me with April O'Neil
I seriously can't wait for this game man
Same
Tbh, at first I thought it would be another failed platform fighting game but now I see that the mechanics look pretty solid
NO ONE GONNA TALK ABOUT HOW CLEAN THIS GUYS KORRA IS??
I loooove how you can tell that the devs know a lot about their characters❤️
Korra uses fire the most in the series and this can be seen in her moveset too.
I think this is my main. She looks like she plays a lot like Captain Falcon.
She Even Got Falcon Kick
Korra gives off Ganondorf vibes. I like it because she definitely felt more like a tank class to me
Cant believe they made the stage out of my favorite part of the show. I thought nobody like that season but me!
Season 2 was wonky but the last 8 episodes (from the Wan episodes onwards) were pretty good.
Love the falcondorf inspiration!
Korra looks soooo good. She's basically Captain Falcon
I love how much of Falcon's kit she has
FatalityFalcon will be happy

The kick would become a sour spot while the top of the rock is a sweet spot
Axe kick should produce a wave of fire that shoots forward a small distance
Strong punch should shoot an icicle which goes a decent distance but the start up should be slower.
if her aerials can be charged
Her air upward kick should produce a small jet of flame like a flame dagger that doesnt do more knockback but just gives more damage as a burn.
aerial stomp is fine as is
Roundhouse kick in the air should have something but i dont know what.
This is awesome we got two avatar character showcase's now we just need toph
Nah we got one avatar character and an Air bender... where tf are all of aangs other moves?!?!
We Also Need to See a Zim showcase
@@dead5908 Yeah along with powered toast man
@@BreadMoldxD Man I wonder why the last AIR bender has only air moves
Thank you for giving Korra (the avatar) access to all 4 elements
and not just 1
I was just hyping about Korra and THIS COMES FIRST 😮🤩
Harmonic Convergence for FD is *chef’s kiss *
It’s so fitting with Rava and Vaatu because it’s so balanced
I love how you can see the spirits flying in the background. Really nice touch.
I love that they use terms like knock back. Nintendo would never in a million years stoop to the level of their fan base and use fan terminology. Glad to see a developer that isn’t obsessed with creating a divide between fans and developers like Nintendo is.
Beautifully put
I like how they added a lot of the elements to her moves. I wish Aang would have got the same love.
Well she got all the elements except Air, which makes sense with her
@@hackerhawk3636 strong dash attack is air
She looks great. Weird Korra can use all the elements but Aang only uses airbending?
well aang never really used his other abilities much, whereas Korra was proficient in fire, water, and earth bending by the beginning of the show
Why she aren’t using her elements that much? Even Isabelle from smash uses a lot more tools than korra, like her up smash, and down smash . Her down smash has a lot more water effect than korrra
1:09
I like how the physics in this game let you spike someone and they go nowhere
yeah its more heavily tied to %, adds to the combo game as well
Her down attacks look really good! Her light down air seems to send her opponent down in slow motion allowing for an easy follow up. And her strong down air seems very powerful like Ganondorf's dair and can probably combo if the opponent is grounded when it connects. She seems really solid.
Side note you guys, look how polished the game is becoming the closer we get to release date!!! 🥺🥺🥺
I don't think it looks any more polished here than a month ago, this is likely an old build anyway.
Ugh finally, I don't feel guilty for thinking the same thing. They did good, but shes underwhelming.
Close-combat definitely suits her style though.
I don’t really like her short hair though personally so i wouldn’t really care if they put it in the game or not
No voice acting sucks takes away from characters nick can afford it and it would pay off idk why they are nervous it’s a smash game it’s gonna sell
They have to have at least 1 alt skin right? Otherwise mirror matches would be impossible to tell who was player 1 or 2 lol
I'm hoping for Korra to get her season 2 costume (dark blue, long hair down her back) and her season 4 costume (short hair, different outfit). But pro bending outfit Korra makes sense too.
Very excited for Korradorf
Kinda wish we could've gotten the bending arena from S1 as her stage, but honestly this stage is really nice and fitting for the game's final destination stage.(and is like the only good part of Korra book 2)
Now we just need the game's battlefield stage.
Since Toph's in the game I wouldn't be surprised if her arena is the wrestling arena from her first episode. If that's the case it's good that we're getting 1 bending arena stage at least. Who knows they could do a few places for Toph.
@@Puckett.
I think it's actually Omashu based on the stage leaks. Doesn't really fit Toph, but at least it was from the earth kingdom.
@@l.n.3372 that's dumb. She was never even in Omashu
@@Puckett.
I didn't make the stages lmao
And yes, I'm fully aware. I said it wasn't connected to Toph, after all.
im very happy with this result, i was worried there would be a high focus on her water bending but her using all the elements equaly if not more fits her character a lot.
I’m confused why they gave her that grounded down b, cause it looks like that’s what Toph’s should be?
I love that she has Ganon’s stomp, that’s amazing
i'm sure they can think of other earth-bending type moves for a down special. they just wanted korra to represent all 4 elements
My thought exactly maybe she will get the rock armor
Who knows, Maybe Toph will have it too since she taught Korra? Or perhaps she'll have metal bending or something.
Cause she’s the avatar?
It feels like they could've re-skinned all of her special abilities to use different elements, but either way it's cool.
The biggest missed opportunity is not having her taunt be 'Im watching you'
OH. MY. GOD. I never knew how badly I wanted to see Korra’s showcase till now. I can’t even describe how much I missed seeing her 😭
Also that stage!!! *chef kisses* amazing!
Domination on a cosmic level! Avatar Korra!
So she's kid of like Ganandorf/Captain Falcon? I've found my new main.
