Great video. We have a log home that, unfortunately, was not grinded prior to erecting 30 years ago. I love how your logs are all grinded first. We grinded the outside of our logs after 10 yrs or so and loved the outcome. We would like to now do the inside but know how extremely dusty our entire house would become! Do you know if the dust shrouds for grinders would work on a project like this?
What grit Osborn brush. So we mobile blast log cabins with a wet blast set up using fine glass abrasive because we can't get corn or walnut in our area. So the customer asked me to do the grinding also. I have a DeWalt polisher 600/3500 rpm 7-9inch. I know I need to use a Osborn brush to clean up the feathering from the blasting but not sure if I should use 80 grit or 120 grit Osborn brush? Any suggestions? Also after wet blasting how long should I let the wood dry before sanding it? Or does it not matter I can Osborn brush wet or dry?
I would recommend the 120 grit Osborne it will give you a smoother finish. Play with the RPM until you get the surface finish you want. Too fast and it can burn the wood… Make sure the surface of the wood is completely dry so that you don’t raise the grain when using the Osborn brush on the logs.
Very very useful information....thank you for sharing
Wow, thanks for this. I've been using a finish sander to clean my logs for an entertainment center, and it's been a pain.
Outstanding
Thanks, glad you enjoyed.
Super awesome!
Thank you!

7” Norton Amos Speed-Loc available in Canada at Magard Ventures.
Where did you order your autobody buffingpads?

A planer works better and faster
We try to keep our saddles as short as possible and so the grinder is the better option for us.
Hogging through my cabins logs is a terrible idea.
These are often times works of passion. Faster usually equates to shoddy workmanship.
