Legend of Dragoon Remake Petition - Fan Video

A fan of Legend of Dragoon was so deeply inspired by my petition and formal letter, that they decided to record themselves reading the letter aloud and made a short video of assorted content. It is portrayed in the style of an actual history scene in the game. The voice is done by RAVENSAUDIO on Reddit. The letter in text form is given below:
Dear Sony,
In the late 90s, key staff of yours had the wild idea to make their own RPG for gamers to enjoy. Obviously an ambitious project, Legend of Dragoon grew to have a large budget and staff team. Three years of development would pass, with special showings of LoD at various tech conventions and tradeshows like SIGGRAPH and E3. Your work was ahead of its time with incredible cinematics, story, and a combat system that preceded quick-time events in video games.
While initial reception was lukewarm, Legend of Dragoon has grown a cult following in the tens of thousands. We’ve been isolated from one another for a long time, but that’s starting to change. We are organizing to tell you that there is a true fan demand for a remake. We still talk about the game to this day on Facebook, Reddit, Discord, Twitter, and dozens of small forums et al. Further, we are confident that LoD could draw many new fans in today’s gaming industry.
It is our formal request that Legend of Dragoon be selected for remake treatment: maintaining the overall story and user experience, but with carefully-selected improvements. At this point in time, the eventual PS5 is the best release platform. If it were made for PS4, LoD would again suffer the fate of being released at the end of a console’s generation.
In the event that a remake comes to pass, below this letter are some of the changes we would like you to consider based on player feedback. Regardless, we hope that this campaign inspires your company to realize that you can do more with this intellectual property - especially with the technology available today. As Shuhei Yoshida has said: “Long live LoD!”

Personally, as much as i love this franchise, i wouldn't trust it to be remade unless it was under a really competent writer and director
Same here. It has to be done "right," from having a balanced budget to a proper marketing campaign to excellent writing. We can learn from the original release in ways like this.
@@DrewUniverse, Also to have someone with the creative maturity to try and replicate the same tone as the original game. Some studios have done really well in remaking their game's gameplay and graphics, but they tend to put their own creative spin on the environments that stray too far away from the tone of the original games.
I've never seen a remake do a good job of replicating the original intended tone. For example, in Halo: CE & Halo: CE Anniversary, there was a level called The Library. In Halo: CE, this level was dark and had less graphical detail than the rest of the game to make it feel abandoned and vacant, leading to a pretty spooky place. In the graphical update, they lit the place up and put lights and detail everywhere. That's fine... To an extent. But when you compare the old to the new side by side, there is a definite and large tonal shift - it feels more like an actual library and place of actual history, and less like an abandoned facility with a festering alien force inside. Again, it's not a bad artistic directio to to make, but ultimately, the original vision of the landscape was totally disregarded, the tone was changed, and it no longer felt like I was replaying a modern version of the same game.
So what I guess I'm trying to say is that, whoever is in charge of the artistic direction of the game should try and see what the world or specific location was originally meant to "be", and stay true to that, rather than try and describe the location with their own words and put their own artistic approach on creating that location. I know it's difficult for artists to mimic other people's visions, but that's why they need creative maturity and respect - and almost be like an actor, and behave like an artist that they are not.
I'm so HYPE for this. Currently working on a cover of the opening song If You Still Believe.

Hell yeah ! I’m signing this. Sony do a REMAKE!! We’ve been waiting for decades ! I plaid this game when I was a kid,I’m 30 now, I’m not getting any younger. I’ve played and beat this game once a year since it’s release untill now ,that’s around 18 years of dedication.i even have the dragoon spirits tattooed on me.ima a hardcore gamer and a fan of many game franchises but something about the legend of dragoon really stuck with me through out my life.i have 5 kids now and I introduced my kids to this game and they all love it.yea it’s just a game but it’s in my soul for some reason,it’s a game to be passed down thru generations.we need a remake!!

I'm really hoping this gets picked up by the big guys, could you imagine all the characters, dragons, and world, all in HD .. seriously i think this game has yet to reach its full potential amongst the gaming community. I hope it has the chance to be reborn so more ppl can experience the game we all love. with the current lineup of games, there's truly nothing like what this could be, an absolute diamond waiting to be uncovered to show off its brilliance. The story in this game is already a treasure, turning it into an hd powerhouse, while no easy feat, my god... it'd be absolutely spectacular.
Austin For real, LoD had some horrible translation errors also, although it didn’t concern me as a kid, I could see how it turned away many people early on. I hope this game is truly in the works, I been trying to get my old discs to play in my ps2 lol. Disc 2 won’t load, stuck after doel... I would buy a ps5 purely for this game!

There is so much potential from a lore and story perspective in this series. What I wouldn't give to see a remake and / or a sequel appear at the Game Awards, or next E3.

Legend of dragoon taught me the TRUE meaning of brotherhood only true dragoons will give a thumbs up if you will be willing to fight in the next dragoon campaign

For example as a prequel they could have a storyline of rose during the war and throughout her history through the 10,000 years of her life and really fet into a story even more detailed on the already existing awesomeness and they could come up with more awesome additions and armory

If they are making remakes of final fantasy games it should be a requirement for legend of dragoon. Plus they could easily make prequels and sequels if they wanted fairly easily

Love the take on this request... Sadly like all requests, my hopes are not very high for something like this to happen, but would have more luck selling it to Microsoft so Xbox teams can do it. With that concept in mind if a remake does appear, I would buy a PlayStation for this game without hesitation. Was so underrated, under played, and had real time reaction turn based battle mechanics ahead of even most final fantasy games that have come out since. I grew up on this game, and think many new gamers would come to love it if remastered, adjusted for today's market, and for once the customers were listened to when remaking something.

This is one of the games I got addicted to. I spent hundreds of hours if not thousands just to max combo levels. Also the reason why I didn't buy PS2 because it wasn't released there.

Best game ever still to this day. Even with dated graphics by the 2000s. Literally they could keep the core gameplay, combat and EVERYTHING and just update it visually. Fans would go bonkers.
You are a genius...i played this game when i was a kid and i bought it last week with a ps1 just to play this...the scope and story of this game is even rivaled or outmatched by ff7 which is the 2 best games for ps1...sony please give the fans what they want and deserve...to see this game not only remade but test the boundaries of wat it could be so we fellow dragoons can relive the old memories of this impactful and stelar story...sony you are free to sever the chains of fate that bind you

@@BigDawg107 Ultimate war god is an item that costs 10,000 gold each but allows you to automatically use the addition, no button press necessary. However there is a 1,000 gold version called Wargod's calling that does the same but you do 50% less damage.
Im currently playing it on my original PS1 and my PS3 so im playing to playthrough for this game. This was my first RPG and the game that made me love RPGS overall!

I remember playing this game. I was only 16. Most gamers on our community played ff7 or ff8. When I saw this I have zero idea what the story was all about. I thought it was a terrible game since it wasn't popular. Back then I think I was the only one who played it. I'm thirty six years old now and up to this day it still is the best jrpg I've ever played. Not really a fan of ff7 and ff8. Long live The legend of Dragoon community!

I'm not the only person who would buy that game again for the " Playstation 5 " I have tons of friends who does speak english and very much enjoyed the Playstation one Legend of Dragoon,
but me and my friends can't continuously play it all over again because the graphics are so out dated. I purchased the legend of dragoon again on the playstation 3 store,
to show support to the developers but it's looking like my kindness is going to go unnoticed.
