      I honestly have little interest in that Hartley green house. It's a grown-up toy in my opinion. Actually, the little flower shed, and chicken coop seems more useful and cottage-like but unfortunately not enough light in the shed for much else. I think GA is out of my league now. I learn nothing from grand projects I'll never be interested in doing, it is not MY career, just a hobby. I get very bored and often find myself skipping over watching plants be augured into the ground. I just don't want to spend time watching someone else plant from grown plants. I've learned a lot through GA but I feel those days are pretty much gone. I would love to see if the dahlia's winter over. Mine did and not only that, I planted them from seed and now have pretty nice tubers... Guess I'm more into learning rather than watch someone else throw money into their landscape. I'm sure it will be lovely, but so are many things that are not so man-made... boy I'm going to get attacked if I post this! lol! "your jealous" "go elsewhere" HA!

    • @vlrissolo
      @vlrissolo ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@loissaedder2214 I heard that... Aaron just wants to wipe out everything asap and buy fully matured trees. Guess my generation has more patience and see's thing differently... or maybe it's just me. Throwing out scads of money for projects that others are hired to do is not learning for me. I can buy help as can many folks and they may enjoy this kind of thing. I like working with my hands and the satisfaction of doing projects myself..

    On TH-cam older videos are suggested from 3 - 6 years ago. The consistency from videos between now and then are your genuine love of gardening and commitment to this channel.
    I haven’t seen another channel as endearing as this. Even if it’s waiting for the grass to grow, you make it interesting, comprehensive and inclusive.

    We've grown a variety of garlic & had a post harvest taste testing to decide which we liked best. We did this the Italian way: a good crusty bread rubbed with a particular garlic, adding a little extra virgin olive oil & salt to make it palatable. Add a little red wine & a lovely evening outdoors & you've got the makings of a good taste testing. And yes, you really could tell the difference between garlic varieties!

    Love it! I’m with Aaron on this one - rip it out in one go and just start from scratch! You’ll be so happy in a few years down the line that you’ve done it like this, instead of inch by inch slowly, without a clear new masterplan. Are you removing the corner garden box at the same time? I’d be tempted to do that, to give the new secret garden more space for a truly magical feel, without that awkwardly placed box triangle formation at the edge. It’s very pretty but I’m not sure it’s formality and form suits the new garden very well. Loved this update. I think it’ll all be beautiful!

    One difference with Hardneck garlic is that it forms a “scape” or flower stalk/bud. You cut that off when it curls twice which forces the garlic to put the energy into making the bulb larger. You would generally harvest 4 weeks after cutting the scape. There are many great recipes for cooking and eating garlic scapes. Good luck!
