I've been kind of desperately trying to figure out what the brut macarons are.. as they are not similar to any of the other bruts so I have to assume they are white label, and I adore them. They work so nicely on every paper I've put them on including some I haven't been able to get any of my other brands to behave on to my satisfaction. They feel great, have a beautiful appearance and very good quality in build, just go down so soft and smooth, and blend like a dream. I'd happily buy a traditional color set. The colored barrel Kalours claim a 3.3 core, the black barrels are the same except for those in the red deer tin which claim 3.8. Have you had a chance to actually color with the different brands/versions to see if they perform similarly?
I think the Brutfunner 520 set might be the most similar in feel to these. I think is possible the factory that make the Brutfunners does sometimes makes unique sets. The Macarons were made to dupe the 50 Holbein pastel pencils. I'm pretty sure Kalour gets their pencils made in the same place but will sometimes get their pencils private labeled. That's why their sets are a usually a bit different. I have both the Brutfunner and Kalour black barrels. I have some kalour videos in a pencil review playlist if you want to check out. I think talk about the Brutfunner/Kalours a bit more.
I don't have the Brutfuner Macaron set yet, and I like the Kalour for the tin that it comes with. If they're the same, which one would you prefer more, quality wise?
For practicality I would say get the Brutfunners because you can probably get them for a cheaper price and are basically the same thing. But if you were to ask me what set I would want more for looks I would say the Kalour set for the pretty tin and swatch card.
I have Brutfuner set, box of 180, in sunflower tin. They smelled terrible being new. Kalour sets may smell terrible too? Are they really same? They come from same factory?
@@Johny566the Brutfuner macarons are totally different than the other Brutfuners, they don’t have the smell of castel art pencils. I can’t stand castel art pencils but I love the Brutfuner macarons. I have the Holbeins & I still definitely recommend the Brutfuner macarons, hope that helps! ☺️🦋🎨💘❄️🍭
There will be a lot of similar colors between most pastel set. I do prefer the brutfuners/kalours to the pastel tints though. I did do a bit of a comparison in a video on the new Arteza pastels if you want to check that one out. It's in my pencil review playlist. 🙂
Thank you for this review. I really don't need anymore pencils but i wasn't really happy with the castle arts pastel set so i am debating on getting a different set of pastels. Would you say that these 2 other sets are different lay down from the castle arts pastel?
My question is if I have Prismas, BW, Soucolor, & Markarts, do I need a pastel set? Would these sets have pastels in them already? Or the same ones? Or are they very different? That's a lot of questions haha
Probably you don't really neeed them lol. If you have all those sets already. If you're taking about the black barrel soucolors yes, I pulled some and made a separate little pastel set prismacolor has some too. I actually have a video where I think I pulled about 50 pastels from all the black widow sets. Ill post the link for you I another comment 🙂
I think the brutfuner macaron and kalour macaron are not from the same factory, they feel different, they just choosed the same pantone codes to both match the holbein colors. Because they wanted this colors to match the holbein colors. The kalour factory only makes the black barrel pencils for brutfuner. The other pencils from brutfuner are from another factory
The factory that makes both Kalour and Brutfuner pencils make several different types of pencils for multiple different brands. It's to lengthy for me to explain in the comments.
@@CrystalsColorStylehey so I know it's been awhile since you made this, can you make a video that goes into depth about this? I've done a lot of research and have came to the conclusion that kalour and brutfunder are made by the same. As they are always the same. But I also feel they maybe make some of the higher end pencils as well. Am I crazy?!
Sorry I don't have that particular set. I have a review of the Marco Renoir 3200 48 pc set with the black barrels if you want to check that out. th-cam.com/video/-tN0ulf6eYY/w-d-xo.html
Now that you mention the order. Asians read from right to left. Westerners read from left to right . Don't know if the reading has anything to do with order though.

Good to know. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thank you, stay Beautiful!
Thanks for reviewing!
I had not seen this ! They look like they have good color pigment !
Thanks for your review ❤️
Thanks for this review, gonna skip the Kalour since I already have the Brutfuner pastels. Could you perhaps compare the Pasteltint to these two?

@@CrystalsColorStyle Not a huge fan of Arteza, but I'll check the video out. Thank you!
How do these feel compared to Brutfuner macarons and Kalour 300?
I went over both sets in the video

Thank You So Much x
If I get the Kalour 300 set, will these Macaron colors be part of that, or this is absolutely a different set, not part of that? Thank you
There might be some similar colors but this is a different series of pencils so not the same.
The macaron colors are not included in the other kalour sets☺️
