I know you guys are new to kpop but Teddy Park is a legendary producer! He also used to be an idol but originally from Los Angeles. He has his own label called Black label under Yg umbrella.

Every K-Pop group has a press release for debut and comebacks with new albums, so the day that their title track or album releases they hold a press release where a bunch of journalists come to the arena/event space, ask questions and watch their performance so they can write articles about it. After that, groups usually have a showcase where they do the same thing but with their fans in the audience instead of the press.

Actually Jisoo don’t only speak Korean, she’s fluent in Japanese and she’s good in Chinese + she understands English very well she’s just not confident at speaking it (nowadays she’s talking more and more in English tho)

Jennie has 2 versions of SOLO. the first one was the original (2018) and the 2nd is the REMIX version. She performed it when they have a comeback last january 2021 at their THE SHOW online concert. She change the rap part at the remox version and wrote it by herself. But before watching the remix version, please watch first the original version. Thank youuuu

I think u both need react to yg survival program. U will know how yg pick their artist. It's hard for the trainees. Only the best will be debut. One more thing for yg, their artist must have one thing that not many artist or idol have... That is swag. For me, until now, only artist from YG got that. For kpop I means.

tbh it didn't take 3yrs for BP to be successful. It took 0 days in Korea. As soon as they've debuted, they were the hottest rookie. Cause YG is one of the BIG 3 entertainments in here Korea. The fact that you've survived through all those training 'in YG'? Means now you're ready to be successful. Debute in YG literally makes everything happen. (Although it did take about 3 yrs for them to be successful worldwide too, not only in Asia.)
Again, debute in YG is a guarantee of success in Asia not to mention Korea, but also in the States and Europe and everywhere else? I guess that was their ultimate goal but yet they didn't expect it this far.

For the last 5-6 years since they debuted , black pink has only 1 full album and few mini albums. Not many songs but every songs it’s hits!!! Made the fan want more and more sometime have to waiting for the comeback song for a year
UPDATE BLACKPINK WILL BE HEADLINING COACHELLA 2023
Coachella was the first US concert for them ever. It's not a standard venu, so people are not coming specifically for BlackPink. And Jisoo was very sick, her back was so bad it was hard for her to move.
So add that to the Members not being sure how big the crowd would be, or if anyone would come to see them. They thought it might be a VERY small crowd(a few hundred). They didn't need to worry it was THE STAGE of the whole weekend at Coachella.

Blackpink was the first kpop girl group to perform at coachella. And the first kpop group was Epik High and at that time epik high used to be under YG ENT. of course the sensational Oppa Gangnam style by PSY used to be under YG
with any Kpop group.. they all train for years with skills they need but after they debut, there's no telling how much success and how far they will go. Most groups that don't make it big disband after a couple of years. So at the beginning when you said they "knew" that they were going to be this big and popular is really not true. The company trained these groups "hoping" that they will make it big. I think with BlackPink, it was a surprised like Teddy said that they made it this far and this big. I thinks its also because they have such unique members and music style that made them who they are.

YG himself came from Sao Taeji and friends who made Kpop today. Psy the singer of "Gangnam Style" is from YG. GD, the man who introduced hugh class fashion in Kpop, created different trends such as hairs, positions on groups and even brought lightstick into kpop is from YG. Then we have 2 legendary girl group, 2ne1 and Blackpink who made Kpop stronger and bigger.
