Safe to say that if the community is 100% on board with this idea than we would 100% not get it. Unfortunately...they have been doing the opposite for years now

As a person that is playing the Battlefield one replay and has a battlefield three I think confirm this might not be happening. I think it just yeah we need to do one to one. It is very graphics.

I have 0 confidence in DICE's ability to not screw up a remaster. 2042 completely destroyed their reputation and proved that they are both unwilling and unable to make a good Battlefield game. Maybe another studio could do it instead.

Battlefield 1 wasn't bad at all, we could have had a little bit more freedom in the game, but it was a pretty well done game, especially if they put more thought into it. Battlefield 2042 is garbage though

Battlefield 3 best game ever
I can't believe how far the franchise has wandered from this title. I was genuinely blown away when it released, I played it over and over (single player), and loved online as well. The only BF title I've enjoyed since has been BF1, which was just a labour of love to WW1 fans.
I think a soft re-release would be the best approach. Bring it to new consoles with updated graphics/resolution and 64 players, give it crossplay (if thats possible), quality of life updates, more weapons and so on. I think with the current dev team a remaster would just completely taint what made BF3 special. I think bringing this game back and letting the new generation experience the greatest Battlefield for the first time isn't such a bad idea and it could potentially earn some of the respect DICE has lost over the years. But at the same time dont want this to happen cos BF3 would probably take over my life again like it did back in the day :D
Great ideas, maybe more of a “refresh” than a full Remaster to bring it to modern consoles with cross play would breathe a bunch of new life into the game.
All it needs is solid anti-cheat, a resolution bump, and support for high-refresh rates. Leave the gameplay alone.

@Punggles sorry if it comes off as harsh, but I've been playing battlefield since Bad Company 1 and it's just sad to me seeing how the franchise has fallen. I went from playing everyday to maybe once a week with 2042
All I want is Battlefield 3 Remastered, Close Quarters DLC and Ziba Tower 24/7 playlist!

A remaster makes so much sense! How do you teach these new devs to design a proper battlefield game? Give them a classic where the benchmark is set in stone.
I think maybe a Battlefield "4.5"could be a solution.
- Modern day setting
- Maps/Guns/Vehicles from Battlefield 3 and 4 and a few new ones
- Updated Game Mechanics
I think the community had something similar like that in mind with BF2042 before it launched and with the release they dumped the whole fanchise in the toilet.
This is what we all thought 2042 would be... such a massive opportunity wasted.

I highly doubt any Battlefield game would ever get its own standalone remaster release, DICE could easily revamp Portal, but we know effort and DICE don't mix at this point.. I don't see 2042 lasting past season 8, and DICE know when content ends for that game the players will drop like flies, along with the cancellation of Battlefield Mobile there will be a long period of demand for a Battlefield title if the next game is scheduled to release late 2024. Realistically I don't see a remaster even being considered, but BF3 remastered would be a nice way to fill the void. The year long wait between BFV content cancellation and 2042 release was painful, and an anticlimactic one at that. We can dream though.
Even just a standard re release with a few fixes I wouldn't be mad at.. The PC version is still playable, has its issues of course but for todays standards it still somewhat holds up, the console version on the other hand is a yucky no no at this point lol. DICE could add FOV slider, 60 fps and normal 64p servers and re release it for current gen consoles. That way minimal requirements from DICE, just fixes and basic QOF upgrades. A remaster is obviously more desired but it would take a fair bit of time and effort that would take DICE away from the next BF title unless they handed it off to a new team.

EA make unexpectedly a great C&C remasterd... so i hope they try between BF 2042 and the next new BF get the easy money and make a BF3 remaster with all maps and some new maps from BF4 like dragon valley. And a solid hardcore mode. A dream...

BF3 was my favorited version of Battlefield. Describing my memories of playing the game as fond does not capture how much fun I had playing that game. Battlefield 4 was similar, but not quite the same. In spite of the levolution game play aspect that dynamically changed the environment, it wasn’t quite as good as BF3. I bought BF1 I believe on pre-order hoping for the B3 Experience, but did not get the experience. I thought the game was garbage. The complete revamp of the UI was a crazy decision. Again, I bought BF5 on pre-order hoping for a BF3 experience - didn’t get the experience and stopped playing not long after getting the game. 2042 was a mess. Didn’t buy it. I have been waiting for a remaster of BF3 for years!! I am planning on dusting off an unused PC and setting it up in the gaming room with the large TV just to play BF3, given that there appears a recent increase in the player base enough to fill a lobby on the BF3 servers.
They should remaster the campaigns and do a Halo: The master chief collection type set. The portal in BF2042 looks like is was supposed to be remastered MPs of past titles but what we got just feels shallow. I just wish I had my m27 IAR back
I love blue tint. We played a lot Venice Unleashed without it and it looked like shiet. Still looked better than BF4 tho

Yes absolutely. Tone down screen shake and suppression, update some graphics, include every single aspect of the the DLC's, don't mess with the weapons at all, bring back the op USAS frag rounds for shits and giggles, and I would actually play Battlefield again. You would think DICE and EA would understand that if they did this and actually did it right that they would make even more money from than if they just did a half assed job with it.

Its the right way to go BUT..... (there's a huge but here) no one is talking about the battlelog... why? why? WHY?? players at least pc players loved bf4 n 4 cause of their abillity to form platoons watching their stats playing on whatever server they wanted and rending a server to create their own comnunity. This is what made bf3 n 4 such a different unique pvp online game along with their great gameplay ect. ect.

I believe that instead of hoping for a remaster so the game can be "relevant" again, everyone who misses BF3 should just reinstall it and start playing it. Immediately, the number of players for the game will increase dramatically, and suddenly, it won't appear as the "dead" game many claim it to be. But the issue is, BF3 isn't new or trending, so many people just exclaim how much they loved the game and would love to play it again, but they don't ever reinstall it and replay it, because it isn't new.
But suddenly, a remaster or a remake is dropped and everyone goes to play that. Why? Because it is new and trending.
People want a BF3 remaster/remake because they want to play what's new and trending at the moment first and actually playing this classic masterpiece of a game second. And a remaster/remake is like killing two birds with one stone. First, the game is suddenly new and trending once more (which is the main prerequisite for many people to decide which games to play); second, because the game is now artificially new again because of whatever "improvements" were added, people can replay this masterful classic with peace of mind.
If people really cared about playing BF3, the game would be heavily populated to this day, no remaster/remake needed. And even when EA pulls the plug, there is already Venice Unleashed which, similar to BF2HUB, will continue to keep the game alive.
The only thing that makes me actually consider a remaster or remake of BF3 is so that the new people who never got to experience the game back in the day can learn from the games existence, and have a drive to play it, bringing more people into the game. But even then, as soon as BF3 remastered isn't "new" anymore, the same stuff happens: game dwindles in players and becomes "dead", and people go back to exclaiming on the internet about how awesome the game is, but never touching it again.
In short: a remaster/remake wouldn't be needed if people cared more about actually playing the game because they love it instead of requiring it to be "new" again in order to play it.
imo a tittle like battlefield 1943 is a better choice， which only cost 10$ but have almost everything a battlefield game needs，dice can just reuse battlefield 5‘s engine to make a battlefield korean war or battlefield east front（which focus on german and soviet）

I agree to an extent, things like strafing and proning are still buggy and clunky. If they just tightened that up without changing the speed it would be perfect imo

DICE nowadays is such a troll company. Everything they touch gets BS. I have zero trust in them even making a good remake/remaster. Before Portal i was dreaming of a hub for all the good memories with BF2, BC, BF3 in a modernized version. What a clown show we got lel.
Cant believe no one has mentioned bf2 that was the best war game I've ever played and in my opinion is the one that should be made exactly how it was on the pc but with modern graphics every thing on that game was perfect commander , artillary , uav , and classes that you could actually utilise being special ops going behind enemy lines and destroying assets , snipering with no bright shining here i am lights , engineering going through fixing vehickes and equipment the list goes on and definitely should be re made it would take over all existing wargames without a doubt 2042 is a complete waste of time it is a good game but it is certainly not what fans of battlefield franchise wants to play there is no realism i went on to play insurgency sandstorm because 2042 was such a lame non realistic piece of crap i would gladly welcome a new realistic tactical shooter i hipe DICE even read these comments !
Bf2 is free to play and people still on servers if you want a banging war experience and dobt mind retro graphics even tho isnt bad then i suhmggest you download it and give it a go just need a fairly modern lap top to run it not a gaming laptop either it runs on quite basic graphics cards !
EA is kinda slow , console gamers never experienced the Real BF3. I’m not sure if you know this but BF1/BF5 are slower soldiers movement games than BF3/4 .
Bf5 was fast and so was bf4…bf3 was slow and realistic

BF3/4/BF2042 base soldier speed 6.53 . Fast and it can go up to 7.15 m/s with perk for bf3/4 and tact sprint with BF2042
So yea BF5 is garbage, it’s too slow and the game is infested with snipers and campers

Great comment, thats surprising to me because BF3 feels so much more grounded and slow than BFV to me. To be clear, I think BFV has the best movement mechanics in the series.

GIve me Battlefield 3 without Suppression and Sunglare, and with bug fixes and the quality-of-life features of the newer BFs, and I'd play that stuff for years and years on end.
it would be INSANE for DICE to be able to make their own "Modern Warfare 2019" comeback, and battlefield 3 seems to be the fitting choice for it.
If I were DICE, i'd take a good look at their dev roster, see where their strengths lie and make something NEW, based on what the crew is capable of. I'm fairly optimistic that they have new and good talents, it just may be, that they aren't utilized to their full potential. The battlefield formula on which the battlefield franchise was built on, seems to have been lost with most of its' creators gone. So instead of forcing these people to try to recreate it, making something catered to their ideas and talents is a much better choice. Improvise, adapt and overcome!
But I'll regress from speaking further as nobody except them really know, what's really going on behind the curtains.
