Now days, they have these beds by Stryker that play music!!!! They are called the Stryker InTouch Critical Care bed! I will tell you from experience, that THEY ARE WONDERFUL BEDS!!! These beds play Nature sounds, and music, both Classical, and Jazz! Not only have I been in the beds, in the ICU, but a few years ago, I called Stryker, and, to make a long story short, they sent me the audio files from the hard drive of their beds, and I have those audio files ON MY PHONE!!!! And then I wrote a long article to Stryker, and sent it to Stryker. I ended up in their monthly newsletter! Stryker is WONDERFUL!!! People who are in the ICU, intubated, sedated, and who are fighting for their lives, NEED GOOD MUSIC TO LISTEN TO! They need Harp music, and Music by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Adam Schumaker, Vivaldi, and so many other great composers! They deserve to hear soothing nature sounds, to help them get their mind off the fact that they're on a ventilator! I think families who are removing their loved ones from life support, should know about this type of music, so that a patient who is dying can have peaceful music to listen to! My aunt Nancy's Husband Tom died in FEB of this year, and my Cousin Karen sent me a picture of the bed he was in, HE WAS IN A STRYKER InTouch bed!" I said, "These beds play great classical music. Get that music playing!" Well, they had his country music playing for him, and It wasn't from the InTouch bed obviously, but I was glad he had music that he liked while he was dying! It was a peaceful death, and that made me feel better that I couldn't be there. I'm chronically on life support, so I couldn't come up there with them, to see Tom, and that hurt BADLY! But it helped to know that he died in an InTouch bed! The beds are comfortable, and so I did feel better about that!
Patients who are sick, deserve great classical music! Let's give it to them!
