Thanks, I just received my technician license and have a mobile Yaesu FTM100DR radio. This was very helpful. I had my rig in a car this afternoon for the first time and pushed the mode button and what you did happened and it showed the local room that the locals use here. I don't understand enough so I am apprehensive to talk. It seems like if I just tune to the repeater frequency in the DM mode I get the traffic that uses the room anyway. So in theory I can go across the country, find a repeater that uses Fusion and Wires-X and find the local room I listen to. Thanks I am Kevin from MN KE0UXC

I wish you or someone else would cover searching in greater detail. ie. Can one do a partial name search? etc. Also, I am trying to figure out how one disconnects from a room using the FTM400XDR which does not show a DISCONNECT button like your 991 does. For an amateur radio operator that has just received his Technician Class license, if you could recommend, what Yeasu handheld transceiver would you recommend, if one is on a < $400 budget? Do you have to connected to a computer for this operation to function? If so will it work with Apple. And if you’re mobile Im guessing you have to be able to hit a repeater that has this system. Is that correct. Please reply and thanks from N2FJ
Enjoyed your TH-cam. I have a question. I have experienced that if several hams are connected into a Node Repeater and a particular room, they cannot hear each other in a QSO. I am using an Analog Wires-X repeater with an ABC Node connected all the times. It seems like analog stations connected to this ABC node can only hear other stations connected to the repeater via an RF link, not the other stations connected to the ABC Node. Thanks for your help. I see you used an FT-991 to connect to WiresX but I was watching a more recent video and in there they state that the FT-991A does not have the capability to connect to WiresX. Is this true?

I have watched at least 5 how to connect to wires X and not one of them has actually fully explained how to connect. Everyone of them starts out with just push the Wires X button and my button isn't even highlighted to be able to push it. For someone that knows nothing about wires X I need to know the Very Beginning of what to do from first plugging in my New Yaesu FT-991A and nobody seems to have a video on this.. I'm sure this is a good video for the person that has a good grasp on wires X though.
your lucky not to get stuck with 5 or 6 chuckle heads quick keying or you never would have got out of America Link. I been trapped in there so many times, turning off the radio is the only way out when there’s never a break.

Bob....NO. It does not... Provided you can reach a Fusion enabled repeater via RF.

This is great. The owners manuals are not clear on how to connect
so as someone who has no clue about wires x is a pc required connection to the radio or just a mic connection ?
When I hit the "X" button I also get a Flashing "P" and I don't know why.

tried 4 different repeaters which use C4FM cannot get a connection. Are there any settings I need to address?
