This Game Mode was incredibly fun and I discovered it by accident when I was reviewing all the options, the best thing about the mode is that it encourages you to play the Minigames to earn different points either for the Chassis, the tires, the engine or the cannon .
Donkey Kong in this mode is a prime example of "The final boss when you fight him vs when he's on your team"
Yeah the engine and tires' stats are random each match but as an enemy it's peak every time.
I played this so much as a kid. Without the modern info saturation, it felt like I was the only person in the world who cared about this game mode. I was always very intimidated going against DK, and confused as to why he drives so fast. I was also confused as to why Bowser used the girly heart body for his vehicle.
Mario Party 5 has so much soul to it. I'm surprised it doesn't get more focus, since it was the last Mario Party before gimmick controls became implemented. Mario Party 6 had the microphone and then the Wii ones were... the Wii. But Mario Party 5 was a pure GameCube experience that improved upon previous titles and had a very immersive, dream setting. I would get lost for hours playing Beach Volleyball mode, Super Duel, Minigame Tournament, and all the others.

I've played this mode a lot and I realized the combos with low HP (like Luigi's pitiful 1 heart) are actually faster a lot of the time, making them useful for the other modes, being the Flag and Robo-Rabbit competitions
The More You Know
This mode needs 2 come back, i’ve always enjoyed tank related mini-games/modes
Best combo: Mr. I Laser + E. Gadd Body, Jets, and Engine.
10:43 The pokey that appears is very reminiscent of it's beta design in Mario 64
This mode could totally be its own game. Add in more parts and a currency system I’d buy it~

See, you laugh at Luigi now, but there’s actually alternate rules where the objective is about capturing objectives and in THAT scenario, there’s no health bar and Luigi is an actual threat.
That’s actually how I beat DK. I realized I couldn’t beat him in a fair fight, so I used the cloud body and beat him in the alternate game mode. Was it honorless? Maybe. But he’s the one hacking in max stats on a vehicle that sports completely randomized stats.
this was a cool mini game I think something like this could become it's own game
The machines I made were usually awful but this mode was still very fun lol
We were spoiled for extra content in MP5

5 is without a doubt the best entry in the series solely because of this mode and Card Party

The Mr. I Laser was a really good weapon but my favorite was the Skolar Gun cause you could detonate it anytime you wanted.

Beating every duel mode in every difficulty.
Beat Donkey Kong for his parts spoiler not all of his parts are stellar...
Most of them are unlocked after beating the modes in hard difficulty although there are 2 other weapons that no one talks about
Those other 2 weapons are available to you after you’ve bought every other body, tires, engine and weapons available in Skolar’s store (the weapons are called Bowser Punch and Bob-omb Wall and they cost 30 battle minigame points each)
Anyone gonna mention that he thought Koopa Kid *as* Koopa Kid?
