After over 30 years of marriage, I'm finally leaving. I remained for the sake of the children, enduring a dysfunctional toxic relationship. The children witnessed a terrible example of marriage, and it's impacting them now. Please, I urge you not to stay solely for the children's sake. It's damaging for everyone involved, believe me.

I separated from my ex husband 5 years ago 😢after realizing 1 month into the marriage that He is a violent person and narcissist in every sense of the word with manipulation, character assassination and subjection of women his forte.
Leaving that marriage 5 years ago is the best decision that I have made in my entire life and my children are better for it and in a non-toxic environment. The peace ✌️that I have is unmatched (I could do this because I was empowered financially after losing myself in the union with several episodes of depression as he did his best to overload me with enormous responsibilities of sharing bills 50:50 including rent to keep me subjected financially but for wisdom that I had to strategize and plan ahead)

I am setting up to tell my story with proves of call recordings, pictures and chats so that women can protect themselves once they realize that they are in a bad marriage
I am proudly a single mother whose life became better after I left that sham of a union. I couldn’t have done it alone without the amazing support of my excellent family members, friends, classmates, teachers, etc despite the societal stigmatization.
One thing I can tell you for free is that that is the best decision I have made in my entire life 👌

Many Women unfortunately are in that same Situation , not happy but just managing to cope and Pretending .., or rather enduring in that space . It may not be easy .., but many Women find it difficult to leave. May God help . With all Alakija’s Wealth .., imagine what she has been putting up with.
Chaiiiiiiiiiii…. A few have died in misery in their toxic marriages. Imagine the Gospel singer , Mrs Osinachi Nwachukwu….
    😢😢
May God help Women all over the World.. including Oyibo.., not only Dudu.

I really think we not discuss anyone's divorce/separation until we know the actual causes and facts. This just keeps us assuming and is more like an opportunity to talk about our opinions on different assumed scenarios that doesn't reflect context.

Thank you YK for that question. I dont understand when people say, you're staying for stability of kids, and you think the kids are oblivious to the active or passive aggression continuously on going? youre destroying their mental health and overall well beign and out look on life

It is lazy journalism for your view to continue to echo 30 years as wrongly stated by gistlover, when a simple investigations will reveal an over 45 year marriage. You guys can do better.

Thank you Your View for debating this Topic. There is no need to patch a troubled marriage for the children. This impacts on the children when they proceed to adulthood.

Mind you their children are parents now. Why are people saying she should stay because of the children. Which children if I should ask. Have you people lived with a grumpy old man before?

Stability of children is no reason to develop emotional cancer!
MOST successful kids have come from single parents where at least one parent either is spiritually engaged or has a sense of sacrificial love and care.

When people act that way it's because they are bitter, resentful, and vindictive. Those are the ex spouses that make life miserable for the other.

All the analyses these women have made are based on guesswork. They're not privy to the marriage and have just given their narrow views from women's perspectives.

Action and reactions will never end. I am not in support of any form of violence but the current trends of divorce will lead to declining numbers of marriages and increase in polygamy.

THERE ARE SOME BATTLES THAT SOMETIMES WAIT FOR YOU AT YOUR OLD TIME AND HOW YOU HANDLE THEM IS TO PUT IT ON GOD'S ALTAR. THE PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE IS THAT THEY DID NOT BELIEVE THAT MARRIAGES ARE ALSO TESTED AND TRIED BUT WHAT WILL HELP YOU TO NAVIGATE THROUGH THOSE TIME IS GOD. NOBODY IS IMMUNIZED FROM CHALLENGES OF LIFE.

U are very very correct, sometimes some of these punditry are just based on fallacy of hasty conclusions or generalisations,it takes two to tangle, it's possible it's the man that has been enduring the marriage and trying to make it work since all this years or even the women, you can't tell until you know the fact of the matter, you see , marriage or life has no specific formula, what works for Mr A might not work for Mr B , what Mr A can endure Mr B might not be able, we are wired differently, it all depends on our level of grace, coping mechanism, understanding, exposure and what we can absorb
