I've been searching for some new/good colony/citybuilding/whatever games but I've always come to the conclusion that Songs of Syx and Dwarf Fortress is actually all I need :D
For me personally, you have forgotten the most important game when it comes to urban planning. And that is "Foundation". With 7134 hours of gameplay, I can't get enough of it and I have the impression that I'm not even halfway there yet. The game is endless and if you have a lot of imagination and the insight of an architect, you can create the most beautiful pearls you can imagine. Highly recommended.

I bought Anno 1800 and I love the game and everything, but making money is too hard.
Farthest frontier came out in like 2022 and clears most city building games of all times. Give it a try if u liked the format of games like Caesar III and IV, Zeus, Patrician III and IV and Pharaoh.
Foundation
I think AOE 2 is really good

For a casual gamer on steam how bad is ubi's launcher and anticheat to deal with? It's positively rated but some reviews make me wonder what barrier to entry I'd be confronted with and whether it could all be taken away by lack of support before long.
