@@TeacherEddieHistory "could have used a bit more detail" sir this is a 480p video from 12 years ago, this much effort was unprecedented back then, especially on TH-cam!
I've always heard that the Tetris theme was taken from a Russian folk song, specifically from Korobeiniki (Коробейники). That and Kalinka (Калинка) are probably the best known Russian folk songs in the West (that I know of).
Good to have you back, Teacher Eddie! I don't think you need to apologize for pausing. I'd prefer that you pause to share your thoughts as opposed to trying to talk over the video and miss something.
This video accurately captures the feeling of each period of Soviet history through the eyes of workers experiencing it. This is a reflection of the zeitgeist. The architectural ques, symbolism, clothing, words, and social/ economic challenges were addressed and summarized expertly, even masterfully. Until the end, which seems to switch to a foreign or British perspective of Putin's Russia. Not having lived through that time, I can't claim to be an expert, but this is one of my favorite works of art on TH-cam.
The ending is parody to Russian "news" shows and propaganda. If you watch even a minute of some of these programs, you'll see a ton of imperialist and domination-oriented opinions.
By chance, do you know what those jackets are called? Also love your reactions, I'm honestly in love with the fact that you're a history teacher that understands what the internet is. I once went to my history teacher in highschool about ERB and he looked at me like he'd rather walk into traffic
I’m not sure but they’re possible parade uniforms or marching uniforms. Here’s a site that may be helpful, www.sovietmilitarystuff.com/ They have a whole section on red army uniforms

Welcome back Eddie! Would you react to a fellow youtuber named Bald and Bankrupt? He has a faszination for the Soviet Union and travels the old Republics. And his russian is pritty good aswell.
That’s how We all knew the Russians was at the lunch room cafeteria.I grow up in Cleveland and the school I went to was hell lol and no one messed with the Russians ! But they all wore jackets like that and same haircuts. I’m not going to lie I was the Puerto Rican that wanted to hang with them. Handsome men tall asf! Lol
I'm just saying. I'm a fan of opening the videos with bad relevant jokes.
My time off has already paid off, much love my brother.
Also I'm pretty sure this melody just left my head a week ago from 1991. Now it's In There again.

@@wow-roblox8370"we shall attain the artic oil"
He sang about regaining Georgian “soil”, probably a reference to the Russian invasion of Georgia in 2008.
The line said was 'we shall regain the Georgian soil', that's how it rhymed with 'Arctic Oil'
Still makes sense considering they turned around and invaded Georgia.

and tetris creator alexei pajitnov has officially stated numerous times that he hates people calling Korobeiniki the "tetris theme"
Kalinka was used on the NES version, Korobeiniki on the Game Boy version
the ending of this music video hits harder now
It hit hard at the time. Russian foreign policy has been the same since about 2000.
Me and my mom are glad to see you back. We've been hoping you're okay and glad to see you here again. Best well wishes for the future!!
Thank you so much!
He lives! Happy to see ya teach
You rock!

Happy to see you back! 🎉🤗I've always seen this as more just a music video than an attempt to teach history like Oversimplified.
bruh they paused it for a "thats what she said" joke...
unlike most songs, I can actually understand what's being said when I hear it for the first time.
Great video, loved the reaction. Glad to see you back.
Welcome back Teacher Eddie!! I look forward to hopefully seeing some more videos soon! You should check out the history of fast food in the USSR.
Thank you
Teach is back in class, sit down students.
Great to see you back Eddie, much love from the community.
Much love Rob

So i was taught that the Soviets got the first man in space... It varies by state apparently.
I learned it, but I doubt I learned it from school.
