It looks to me that the safety vast doesn't seems to do much. If you were to fall, you could easily slip off from the safety vast. It is unlike those wore for mountain climbing where it holds your lower body and not your upper body.
I was honestly surprised that you had to return on the same path that you went up! I thought for sure that there would be a different "easy" path down....or maybe a secret elevator or something. ;-)
Cool video! Saw your other video in Qinghai, I'm jealous that I haven't been to there as a Chinese myself. BTW, you speak good Chinese and you have quite a range in basketball.
10:02 girl (with big smile):"that's a nice camera" i want to say that you are a sweet girl, lol btw, this video make me feel scare, reneorth, you are so brave, thank you for shareing
That was awesome! So it takes about 30-45 minutes in total to do this south trail? How long it total would it take me if I am going just for this trail? (Please let me know the time for getting there from the bottom of the mountain and hiking up as well). Also did you stay at Hua or just bussed it from Xian? Thanks for answering!
GoPro was on a headstrap. (It came in the package). I think by the time we got there, it was early afternoon? I can't quite remember. If you're wondering about the clouds -- it's based on the weather, and that's what I was asking the guide... He basically told me that the weather/clouds are unpredictable.
Haha I like how you didnt take your safety harness off when you were crossing paths with that chick and was like nuh uh nope, these are going over your head! Then the guy after that just takes his off completely... lol
You could totally do it! It wasn't too hard. The worst was getting up to the cliffside path. Many, many steps to climb because hiking in China = stair stepping.
The guy camping there probably was a lock seller because labelled on the box facing him was words saying locks for something something. People may buy locks from him and put them on the chain, locking marriage, love etc.
her:are you here everyday? is it boring? him:yeah her: you're not afraid to sleep here? him: just catching up on sleep her: where are you from? him: america her: what day has the best weather? him: hard to tell lol nothing special
Prayer ribbons. You buy a ribbon and a lock; the idea is by locking the ribbons on the mountain, you "lock in" the things you really want - pass the college entrance exams, good health, promotions, etc.
We took a cable car up to a point and then had to hike a bit (a couple hours maybe?) to get to this cliffside path. I'm not sure about the teahouse, because it started to rain, and we felt it best to get back on our way. If you do it with the locals, they like to start at the base of the mountain at dusk and climb thru the night to watch the sunrise on the top, rather than take a cable car. :)
whoa that sounds awesome. I would imagine it could get scary and you would need to be fit! But seeing that sunrise would so pay off! The cable care does seem fun though :)
is so seldom ppl will upload their return path...and im so happy u did it!!! thank you...

Thanks so much! I hope you get the chance to go to Qinghai. That was srsly life changing and just flat out gorgeous!
Awesome videos, i hope to go back to there someday and this is first on my list.

Apparently my mom didn't get the first video I sent her. She will definitely get this one!

You should be so proud of your achievement shorty! Q_Q.
great stuff thanks for posting - can't get too much of this amazing place. Was that the Health & Safety notice at 12.15 ? lol
This is awesome. Two questions, is your GoPro on a helmet? And what time of day was this? I really would love to do this when I go to China.

I would love to try it someday. However, I really am not sure if I could! I am afraid of heights but try to face that fear haha

8:35 that's where it would get real. Trying to negotiate with people on their way down. I've lived in China and I know it's every man for himself.

Amazing :O
Great video, thanks for sharing! I would really like to do that someday. Was it expensive? And who was the guy camping in the side of the cliff??

Interesting. Thanks!

how long did you walk with the security rope?
I don't get it, is it mandatory to do this return trip or you can just go ahead after you reach the other side?
As far as i remember this is a dead end and totally unnecessary. It serves as a Taoist practice, cultivation of virtue kinda thing.
You are so BRAVE ! ! ! Btw, your chinese is quite good
Ahahah. Thanks. Still need to improve though!
9:40 nice!
What are the red ribbons and the locks for that are hanging from the chains at 4:30?
Lover's lock love there
