Another great video clarky. Such a beautiful designed and the workmanship that must have gone into a place originally like this. Shame it’s all going to rack and ruin. So many establishments seem to being demolished. Sad world, and times. Excellent commentary as always, enjoy watching your explores.

My Auntie Mary and her partner Leslie owned this pub back in the day. They did the refurbishment, the extension area use to be run as a Spanish restaurant/tapas bar. I spent my childhood in this place. It is shocking to see how it looks now.

Absolutely loving your videos. Im a salford girl but regularly go up to Bolton. I see all these fantastic building that are now closed to the public and always wondered what they were like inside. Its such a shame the condition these buildings are left in. They hold so much history. Keep up the good work.

This is literally right where I live. 20 seconds walk to the end of my street. There are plans submitted to flatten it. - saw a comment saying already flattened. I know I've been inside due to lockdown but I don't think its been knocked down yet. Gonna have a look tomorrow, it is all cordoned off and behind a lot of vegetation now. You actually look at my street from an upstairs side window.

I worked here in its hay day, The managers where Les n Mary. I would do the bar and the restaurant El Mundo which was attached to it. One of the best jobs I ever had, me, Bobby, Parker, Jimmy, heather, Lucy, dishpig and the chefs Matt n Tony. Never had such a laugh in all my life, like walking in the kitchen n finding Parker hiding in the glass top chest freezer🤣 Or Walking in the kitchen with a table full of empty dishes and getting an egg thrown at you to catch😄 As for ghosts I did walk through a mysterious foggy patch, but that could have just been steam from the patatas bravas. It was banging though, couldn’t move on a fri/sat night, was rammed!!!

Thanks for that mate I frequented the place towards its final years as I live just down the road A666, it was absolutely buzzing pal and it's great to know you played there. One heck of a lot of money had been spent on the place which you've shown was done to a very high standard so why it closed I'll never know. All the best Stevie

That shadow thing was well creepy. Almost like it was stalking you and you startled it by turning around. Started putting all your vids on a USB stick to plug into my TV as I don't connect my TV to the internet. Actually, I don't even connect it to an aerial or cable TV as I simply do not watch TV and all it's propaganda crap. I just watch blurays and Dvd's. And there is something quite therapeutic about watching your building explores.

Nice building, makes it seem a bit sadder if you had known it when it was open. Reminds me of some of the old pubs in New Zealand I played in with my bands back in the 80's. The band pub scene was huge back then, but it's died in the arse these days. It's an even crappier scene here in Denmark as far as pubs with bands go. I like the background ''mood'' music, it creates a great atmosphere, the house wasn't in ''Beasley Street'' was it Dr Clarke ?.

I heard they closed this place down as it was haunted!! There were many incidents which had occurred over many yrs, people who visited the place were leaving the place in the late hours in a state of possession!! There were rumours some came out running onto the A666, some were falling down as they exited the place for no know reason. Some started yelling and shouting into thin air. May be the ghost who ever he or she was rest in peace.!!

it is a puzzle to me why pubs as popular as this one are forced into liquidation, it has a very large cottonmill opposite which is converted to flats, and therefore hundreds of potential customers, its in a heavily populated area, is on a major route into and out of Bolton (passing traffic = customers). i live fairly close by and woiuld call in when passing, it was allways busy, food being served and drinks flowing.
so why is it a derelict building being changed to the site of a new mosque, whats the answer.

Thanks for making such a great documentary on this former establishment. Your views may spike after today, as more people become aware of this and the fact that it was recently demolished to make way for a new mosque/community center. I caught wind of this on a British nationalist blog, it’s a talking point given the circumstances comparing past use and future intentions. I have been scouring the internet looking for pictures of its hey day, but my search was in vain. There were some good comments on here describing what it was like and your commentary painted a great picture. Another guest asked why this was forced into liquidation and lack of business, could it be attributed to demographics or social change? I found a blog reading that the place had some noise complaints from the local boro, maybe it was as some would describe a “nuisance bar” ? Maybe people wanted to distance themselves or the management was poor. Just thinking out loud here. I know nothing of Bolton and have never been here, but it’s definitely piqued my interest. I would like to see how they develop the new community center. I’m sure it won’t be half as nice. Keep up the great work and give us an update if you feel up to it.
Best wishes and regards from across the pond.

The Brierfield deffinately wasnt nuisance pub many people have many fond memories of this place from all its different uses over thr years. I believe the Pub has now been flattened to make way fpr some kind of Asian education centre, well, so I heard. It seems to me that the powers that be have been taking away our social gathering grounds for a long time and I think in this current climate most will deffinately never reopen amd a lot of other places too small bussinesses etc etc. Anyway, thanks so much for the feedback because I feel like shit at the minute so its good to get some critique and share our views. Take care m8.

The Urban Collective I apologize for the misunderstanding, I wasn’t trying to insinuate this was a nuisance, it seems very celebrated. I worded that wrong.
Sorry to hear about you being down. It isn’t easy to have high spirits right now with the shape the world is in.
I’ve been reading for some time about this happening in England, and I’m sorry to hear. Almost as if the powers that be are ashamed of your rich heritage or culture, and feel the need to import cultures from abroad. Mind-boggling to me.
Just keep fighting the good fight and preserve what you can. Remember the good times. Keep your head up mate.
      Regards from USA

Shouldnt think the morgue story is true. Ive never heard of a patients body being moved to a Drs surgery. If someone dies at home they either go to a hospital morgue or straight to the undertakers premises.
