  • Eccleston Chorley's Bygone Times is a famously haunted antiques centre housed within an old cotton mill with hundreds of antiques, stalls, and collectables over six floors. It has an original cobbled alleyway, a courtyard garden centre, cafe, and even a war museum, and today we're offered exclusive access to explore the grounds, including a three-floored derelict mill, and an unearthed air raid shelter in which we might have captured something paranormal on film.
Filmed and Edited by Clarky featuring Rick Suzanne and Martin special guest appearence from the resident ghost!

Great video once again. I've been there many times, the Mrs used to love a trip out to Bygone Times and Botany Bay, a membership to one got you into both. Great to see behind the scenes and the bits the general public would have no idea existed.

Fantastic video, really enjoyed it. I used to work in that building back on the old NHS days. I've often driven past it and wondered what it was like inside now, so thank you. Sad to see it looking like that, but I suppose time moves on. Hope someone finds a use for it. The room you couldn't get into used to be the old board room, I had my very first interview in there - I think it used to have dark wood panelling and a thick blue carpet; was very intimidating to a youngster. The longer rooms used to be offices partitioned off, you can still see the marks on the floor where they used to be. I even spotted the outline of my old office on the top floor. Had a lot of laughs and good times in that building- but even in its prime it was very very spooky at night or weekends. It wasn't unusual to hear strange noises or what sounded like footsteps if you were in there on your lonesome...

27:48 the stepping stones are further up the stream from this point, you can access the woods via a long walkway located next to the entrance to the bygone times carpark.

What an epic explore Jay. Thoroughly enjoyed every single second of it. The sound effects to each part was very fitting indeed. I have heard of bygone times, but never had pleasure to visit. Well worth it by looks of it. I’m well into antiques collectibles and history and old items, what an Aladdin’s cave it so was !! There’s as much as I’m sceptical too of the “other side”. So much history tales folklore and things that must have gone before, so presences most surely can exist 8n. Old buildings. So much hard work dedication and effort. To polish up your explores to such a top quality level, all credit goes again to yourself Jay. Keep up the excellent work, Very much appreciated. Cannot wait for. Lots more of them.

Brilliant Clarky... Wow, I could spend all weekend in that place and would love to own everything in the Penny Arcade lol, I have put a few old pennies (1d) in some of them as a little girl :) I loved the WW1 section, another place I could wander round for hours. My Granddad fought in WW1 and his stories have stayed with me. My junior school was Russell Scott in Denton, Manchester and we had a few air raid shelters (WW2) on our school field which were big mounds covered in grass. Sadly all gone when they built the new motorway. Awesome capture of a little girls voice, I am interested in that side of things, I think for me it's the whole history of places and if that includes a few people that never left, then, I'm ok with that lol. Thank you once again for your amazing camera work and everything that you put into making these films for us. Much love from New Zealand x

@@TheUrbanCollectiveWeFilmIt Hi Clarky, ours were above ground with the entrance bricked up, we were not allowed to go in them, I left there in 1974 and the school closed in 1981, wish I had gone back to have a look in between. Yes I am sure there must be a lot of shelters at schools around Manchester, possibly underground!! x
