in my experience, putting four creeping chills in the deck is a good way to guarantee you'll draw four creeping chills every single game

I played one yesterday! Most difficult games I had... Need to rethink my deck. :-) It is based on self milling + Jace and counters/unsummon. Magic mirror does the game by itself. Doesn't work well, but it is funny IF you survive till magic mirror. ;-) Have a nice day

wow, I haven't been excited this much about any deck in a big while. I played izzet phoenix before M20 dropped and I found it to be not that good anymore since, but I love the namesake card and this seems to have even more potential for those turbo phoenix reanimations that I love. you rule, CGB!
love it when people play off-color stuff in decks. also a big fan of off-color reanimator targets
You should consider putting Devious Coverup in the deck, to reshuffle the chills back into your library (esp. if you had to discard them). Cool idea for a deck!

I think CGB opted not to because it's a bit expensive to cast. And he needed as many cheap spells to cast to trigger the Arclights consistently.

Drowned secrets is the wrong enchantment to go all in on. Swapping out for the enhanced surveillance and dazzling lights in aggro match ups will get you in there lol
The planes walker "Power Creep" problem can easily be solved by allowing instants to be played before they can tick up!! Fry could then kill Oko. Tef not always bounce and replace itself etc. It would put plane walkers back in their place and really open up new decks. If u ban fields dead Oko will be in 70% of Meta. No Variety.

Those matches are intense! And no worries about adding other colors in the theme. Yeah, iM with that it still feels like Beta mainly because of the performance issues of the game.
What about great henge in such a deck? I mean the core of arclight + narco is pretty creature orientated. Maybe its a fun addition to the self mill theme.

I’ve seen lists playing watery grave over mystic sanctuary and I think that’s right. It casts Creeping Chill, and all of Discovery/Dispersal, and sanctuary coming in tapped a lot hurts.
I've played both the "monoblue" and "UBR" versions of this deck a ton and blue-mana-only seems like the way to go. You'd probably want to run at least some Mystic Sanctuary anyway even if adding Watery Grave, and there are very few instances when hardcasting Creeping Chill will come up and that has to be balanced against the much more frequent shocks you'll take with Watery Grave. Also, you'll literally never use the Dispersal half.
On the contrary, taplands aren’t great by any means, and the deck is very active on the first 3 turns.
@@HelloWorld-hy9xq There's nothing contrary in your response - I think we agree. That's exactly why I said the shocks are more relevant than hardcasting Creeping Chill.
Sanctuary is a tapland more often than watery grave, at least that’s how I feel.

but if you have to cast maximize altitude on an enemy creature to reanimate phoenix, you're giving the opponent a flying blocker that most likely trades for phoenix lol. and deck only has like 2 creatures besides phoenix
